The more similar you are to someone, the more easier it is to bond and connect with them. Gay and lesbian couples understand each other better than straight couples do (due to them being the same gender as each other). I heard that most straight couples are not happy being together, and I heard that people who are straight are much happier and much better off being single than they are being in a romantic relationship.

When we were both adults, I told my best friend I used to have a crush on him when we were teens. I could tell he was flattered by the notion. We still have a strange close connection, ever since we were teens. And yes, strangers to this day often think we are bf/gf. But he’s gay and I think I always knew (he only officially came out when he was in his twenties) Some times it’s not a romantic connection, or not vice versa anyway, but it can still be deep and meaningful. All the signs mentioned in the vid here refer to us both, except he has been in two longterm relationships and I have also been with someone off and on. But we love eachother, he knows if he ever needs a kidney that he can have mine. I told him one drunk Christmas (and later confirmed when I was sober that the deal still stands) It’s kinda like soulmates, without the romantic element in it. I am ok that we are not together as a couple, because I think he deserves better than what I have to offer anyways, and I believe he has that now. I just want to see him happy. It would be helpful to remind people that best friends often do help each other when the other one is feeling down. Things like this have been used against me when I was falsely accused of having these feelings for someone who I never had those feelings for. I've already stopped making good friends with members of the opposite sex so I can avoid my intentions being mistaken. If we can't help each other when we're feeling down without it being mistaken for flirting, that's not exactly the definition of a good friendship, much less best friends. I now have to limit myself to almost never speaking, never hanging out, never asking how their day is going (which I used to do with my friendships with both men and women), never texting, never calling, and never excited to see them in public. Basically, a weak friendship that is borderline to acquaintanceship. If I have a crush on someone, I'm direct about it. That hasn't spared me from being mistaken, though. So, it'll help to remind people that some of these are not always a sign.

When we were both adults, I told my best friend I used to have a crush on him when we were teens. I could tell he was flattered by the notion.
We still have a strange close connection, ever since we were teens. And yes, strangers to this day often think we are bf/gf.
But he’s gay and I think I always knew (he only officially came out when he was in his twenties)
Some times it’s not a romantic connection, or not vice versa anyway, but it can still be deep and meaningful.

I actually relate this this quite a lot. Even though I've already confirmed that my best friend likes me (he confessed to me) it's still really shocking to see that these apply to me.

It would be helpful to remind people that best friends often do help each other when the other one is feeling down. Things like this have been used against me when I was falsely accused of having these feelings for someone who I never had those feelings for. I've already stopped making good friends with members of the opposite sex so I can avoid my intentions being mistaken. If we can't help each other when we're feeling down without it being mistaken for flirting, that's not exactly the definition of a good friendship, much less best friends. I now have to limit myself to almost never speaking, never hanging out, never asking how their day is going (which I used to do with my friendships with both men and women), never texting, never calling, and never excited to see them in public. Basically, a weak friendship that is borderline to acquaintanceship. If I have a crush on someone, I'm direct about it. That hasn't spared me from being mistaken, though. So, it'll help to remind people that some of these are not always a sign.

I don’t have nor even need a crush. Several ladies were interactive toward me but I just didn’t seem to have any influence. I do respect ladies, but it all has borderlines which do not have to relate to having a bond or relationship. Like the way how you would treat a nice neighbor in your area but aren’t willing to start a relationship (crush). There are many people on this planet who could be a good candidate to be your love (especially if it is about marriage), but you have to really know who you are being with (don’t get blinded by the looks of people too much too) and know how their actions are like, including what they say. Observe their actions to know their character and personality as well. Know their family well especially before proposing for marriage.

I am a college student, and she is transferring to my school come the next spring, and she plans on being my roommate. We sit on call now every night, sometimes through the day too, and her whole family loves me. We are planning to have our first sleepover soon, and she wants to plan it to make it “perfect”. i remember going to hang out with my friend, one on one, really nervous, and when i saw him, first thought was "hi, i'm... terrified?...".
the thing is, i think he likes me, and so does everyone else around me, but he's like family, because he's known my family for so long. i think we're both too scared to say anything because it might seem weird.
i'm not too sure what happened, i hadn't seen him much for years, then one day we met up again, and he seemed surprised to see me, as a young teen.
one day he vented, and i started to think about him everyday, wondering if he's ok, what i could do, what he's currently up to. and then i realized how much i care about him. and then at some point i started getting really awkward and nervous around him, got quite the shock when all of a sudden my heart was going all over the show at one point in the library, when i was not at all expecting him to be there. (he's my first crush so far). slowly it becomes less torture, but still strong feelings for him. slowly he shows more signs of liking me. i'm still awkward around him at times.
i might feel less weird about it once i'm 18, next year. he's currently 19, and i feel like it might be a slightly less weird age gap once i'm 18. and also i don't feel ready to say anything, not until i mature a little more. best to improve in the self, because how do you expect to be there for someone if you can't take care of yourself?

My best friends does everything except physical involved actions since it's a long distance "friendship" (we're French and around 5 years ago her family left to Canada, I always dreamt to live there even before I met her).
