I have over 1000 rounds through mine which I purchased in Jan 2023 and I can say from my experience that this gun is reliable and very accurate! I use Only CCI Maxi Mags, 40 grain ammo and I have had only Two Failure to Feed! I just purchased a OWB Holster and I will make this gun my EDC! Thank You! NOTE: After shooting about 1000 rounds, I started to have some FTF from all my magazines, so I tried the Mag Fix, as seen on RUclips with Placing a Bead of BONDIC Glue on the Mag Catch of each mag and this made each mag fit tighter. No more FTF But then my Firing Pin Broke, so I received a new firing pin from Kel-Tec and I installed it by following a RUclips Video and it was very frustrating for me but I was able to replace the broken firing Pin! I am hoping for the best because I really like this Gun! To be Continued ......?

That is very interesting Steve, The CCI's seem to run very good. I think it just needs more range time . Thanks for watching

@@chrisevansgunshorsesranchi699 NOTE: I had FTF's after 1000 rounds and the firing Pin Broke, so I had to Edit my original comments.

When I left CA for FL I told myself one of the first things I was going to do was buy a gun that would be totally illegal back home and the PMR30 fit the bill perfectly. Really glad I bought it. It's light weight, loud and loaded! I had a few issues when I first bought it because I was loading the mags too quickly, and with them being kind of particular about how they are loaded it made for some FTF issues. However, I sat down and loaded/unloaded them for a while until I got a good technique down and I haven't had any issues since, and that's through a few hundred rounds. I bought the paired rifle, the CMR30, to go with it and they are a formidable combination. Also, I personally like the extra loud report, and most people get pretty interested in what I'm shooting at the range after just a few rounds. It really is a hand cannon! Good video!

Gonna comment before I even watch this then I’ll comment afterwards…bought one of these on impulse one day and immediately took it to shoot…very frustrating almost got rid of it because it jammed so much…but the trigger and sights were good, and it was fairly accurate when it fired…so I decided to work with it some…fired about 400-500 rounds thru it cleaning it a lot, taking mags apart and using Ballistol on everything…only load 20 rounds into mags and the last time I shot it it did pretty good…seemed to start to break in at 300 rounds…

I had one about 3 years ago. I used CCi's only and had no malfunctions. BUT... I agree about the muzzle blast, so much so, that I traded it off.

Much nicer design than the goofy CP33 . I wish if they made 22LR like that instead of the 22Mag
Thank you sir for the review

The sights are HIVIZ fiber optic - some call them “light pipes”. Work well when there’s light available. I never was a fan of Keltec and I don’t believe in break in rounds. If the gun doesn’t function out of the box it goes back or gets sold. I do enjoy your gun videos. Thanks

Thanks for the comment John. I couldn't think of HVIZ for the life of me. I have to agree about the function comment. If it does't work I have no need for it. Thanks for watching

I have several 22mag’s. My Smith 648 is my favorite, for the PMR there’s a upgrade kit, that makes them more reliable. The red dot plate for the PMR is a nice addition. Some others, have stated issues with loading the magazine to full capacity. Thus, they leave a few out, and have had more reliable results. I plan on using my Smith on a lion hunt.

I have not heard to not load the mag with 30 rounds and they are more reliable. I will pass this on the Chris. Heck if you only put 20 or 25 that is still a ton of fire power. Thanks for the comment Duke Have fun on the lion hunt the 22 mag with do you a great job

I had a AMT stainless steel 22 mag and hated the noise, and blast. So traded it off!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸

Sent my new one back to Kel-Tec today. 800 rounds in. Still FTE 3-5 time per mag. Just like the malfunction you had with the Remington. Type of ammo doesn't seem to matter. I hope they fix it because I really like it when it does work.

Mine had some problems initially. It was returned to the factory. After it came back it functioned flawlessly. I target practice with CCI MaxiMag, but carry with Hornady Critical Defense. Using Hornady V-Max is interesting. There is noticeably less recoil, but more blast and an even louder report.

Thanks for the comment Allen Glad you got it running good. The muzzle blast is crazy with this thing. Thanks for watching

The CCI ammo that came in the 200 round boxes worked the best for me, I think it was 45 grain. I already had a bunch of it before I’d bought the gun. I also had some Winchester ammo that had a 10% or so failure rate. I don’t care for how thin the grip is, my hands are big and need more width, maybe some of those Talon strips would help, idk. If you shoot the gun at dusk you’ll see the muzzle flash could light a grill, it’s crazy… Mine hasn’t been pulled out of the safe since I got a Sig P322 back last July, it is our rimfire ‘warm up’ gun, and fishing carry gun now. I’ll keep the PMR30, I don’t like getting rid of any guns…certainly a neat concept….just one of those impulse guns for me, don’t love it but I’ll shoot it now and then.

Thanks for the comment Larry. I have to agree with you on the neat concept. I am not a big fan of the 22mag. I feel like it is neither fish nor fowl as they say. Too expensive to plink with not big enough to really take care of business. I bought a 17 HMR last year. I have probably shot more varmints with that than anything. What I like is the 17 gr bullet has no ricochet. It seems like there is always cows around where the gophers and prairie dogs are. Thanks for your support Larry I can always count on you for good commets

The .22 mag is great round but nobody has seemed to be able to get it to work reliably in a semi auto. Ruger tried with their 10/22 magnum about 25 years ago and had to discontinue making them due to too many problems. That having been said, I do own one that works perfectly. It really likes the Hornady 30 grain V-Max ammo. But for the most part, many had lots of problems.

I remember the 10/22 mags they did have problems. This one seems to like the Hornady as well. Thanks for always giving good comments

I don't shoot .22 mag. No need for it for target shooting plus, the price and availability of the ammo makes it less desirable to shoot.
I owned a Ruger Single Six for many years. It came with both .22 LR and 22 Mag cylinders. Never used the Mag cylinder.
I recently purchased a Heritage .22 revolver that came with both mags. I may try some .22 mag with this revolver.

I agree with you on the need for a 22mag. My brother running hounds loves the 22 mag. Raccoons and loins they work great. For me I use the 22 to plink or the 17 HMR for varmints. Thanks for the comment Dale

40 grain or heavier, it needs the recoil energy. I've found dry teflon lube helps the magazine.
