  • Here is a video showing you how to properly load the Kel-tec PMR 30 magazine. Yes I know sounds corny but because it holds 30 rounds of 22 magnum (WMR) there is method of loading them and this way you will not have problems, such as failure to feed, failure to eject for the most part according to the instructional manual.
    I also like to clean the mags, which I do for all my weapons, when I purchase them and any future magazines. This does really help. Most of the time you don't have to but with some magazines, you may want to.
    For this type of magazine I would recommend it only because of the high amount of rounds the magazine holds. The magazine is very easy to disassemble and reassemble as you can see.
    For cleaning, just use a mop and some light oil to clean anything the body of the magazine may have. Now load your mags and notice the holes in the magazine, they will help you count how many rounds you have in them. Tap after several rounds, so they set in correctly.
    Once you load in 30 rounds your last round should be sitting on the left side on top if the magazine and bullets are facing away from you. This is per the Kel-tec instruction manual.
    By taking all these steps, this will definitely help your mags to consistently fire without problems and allow you to have your fun on the range or be more confident your magazines work tip top.
    Hope you enjoyed this video and how to. I appreciate you click on the like button and subscribe for more interesting, unique, weapons and fun videos. Take care and God Bless.

    bought one in February. I've put well over 1000 rounds through it. I can count the failure to feed on one hand and only one failure to detonate. I absolutely love the PMR, it's loud, looks great and for me works almost flawlessly. I know about brake in periods, and like he said lubed it up took it out and fired it. Being a rim fire weapon, they are dirty rounds. So you need to clean them every single time you shot. If you want a gun you can neglect yet still work buy a Glock. like everyone else. But if you want a gun that people want to talk about. A gun that turns heads at any gun range. Buy the PMR 30 just remember it needs more attention than most guns.

      Well said my friend. I love mine and it does get looks by other shooters and friends. I love the fact that I have 30 rounds in each mag. Great survival pistol as well. Thanks for watching and info on your PMR 30

    Great job!!! I am 64 yrs. old and did not take offense about comments on the elderly. Some of the older people should not mess with guns. I love my PMR-30. My wife carries a Charter Arms 22 magnum revolver because she broke the finger bones in her rt. hand and has arthritis in her fingers, I stress shot placement to her when we practice. It beats the heck out of throwing rocks. Keep up the good work!!!

    The instruction manual says it will have fail to feed and failure to eject problems if you use anything less than 40 grain ammo. It needs a high power load to push the slide far enough back to make everything work right. They mentioned CCI Maxi Mag 40 grain as a good round for the gun

    Hey man, i know I'm late to the game as far as how old this video is, but i just got my pmr 30 a few weeks ago. I finally got around to cleaning it tonight and then did a search here on RUclips about magazine cleaning and found your video. Really helpful! I couldn't get the punch pin to let go in the bottom of the magazine but I used my jag, pushed the pin down and dropped a few drops of Proshot One Step into it. Followed that up with using my cleaning rod to push the follower down about 30 times and EASILY loaded 30 rounds into the mag. The first mag was loaded the day I brought it home without using any of the knowledge you provided. That first magazine was a struggle after 15 rounds even with tapping the back of the magazine. I ended up with 25 in it as i couldn't load anymore. I'm planning on taking it to the gun range this week. Thanks for the video brother!

      Cool. you will love shooting it. The mags can be tight as you load more but I have been able to get all 30 in. Clean the inside of the mag and assemble it and keep on tapping every two rounds as you load it. Should help. Have fun shooting it. Thanks for watching

      Ghostginthree I've had it out to the range 4 times now. Had issues with the slide stop tab coming off while shooting the last 3 times. The last time was this past Monday and I'm waiting on Kel-tec to send me black loctite. Really disappointed that I'm having trouble with it but I'm contemplating buying ANOTHER PMR-30 because I love the potential these guns have.

      Sorry to hear you are having problems. I do know the 1st. gen had problems and the barrel was replaced by Kel-tec. Just send it back. They have good customer service. Let me know how everything turns out.

    great review. I have always had problems with my PMR-30
    but .......whenever you have to make excuses to why people have problems............ it screams bad design. And I have heard all the excuses and sure if you follow the suggestions they make it does improve on reliability.
    I have this pistol and so do several of my friends and the magazine design is bad. love it when it works great idea but they need to put their best engineer on this problem and lock him in a room for six months and not let him out until the loading and failure problem is FIXED! They are making new firearms that use the same magazine!!!!!!!!

      +pickpunch I agree my friend. My point to this video is this pistol that holds 30 dam cool rounds is great for a survival pistol and more. So for now, I created this video to make the best of this gun. I agree with you, they can make it better, I would pay. I have also used frog lube and polished the feeding ramp and it shoots like a hooker that does not say no. lol Thanks for watching and your comment

    keep up the good work.

      Thanks my friend for the positive comment. I absolutely love this gun. It has been shooting flawlessly. Hard to believe how light this gun is and shoots accurately. Just getting harder to find 22 magnum ammo due to other companies coming out with more 22 magnum rifles and pistols, at least that is my guess. I am very happy to own this Kel-tec PMR30.

    great info. I'm a new gun owner. Just ran across this from a co-worker last week. It needs cleaned. You said Hoppes. any certain cleaner? I saw they have several available. And the manual I downloaded said use certain cleaners for polymer? thanks for the videos.

    • @Ghostginthree
      @Ghostginthree  8 лет назад +2

      +New Owner Hi, welcome my friend, good to hear you are a new gun owner and trust me, you will be buying more guns as we all have. First pretty much most any oil can lube your Kel-tec or guns as for cleaners, I only said hoppes but most any will do. The polymer you never have to clean but on anything polymer use just plain soap and water with a spunge. Some oils and chemicals can ruin polymer or cause damage. Now the inside of the gun where the top slide and lower come together you can put light light oil/lubricant as this are moving parts. The outside no. Feel free to ask me any questions, no question is dumb, this is how you learn, I continue to learn and know much. Don't forget to join the NRA if you have not already brother. Thanks for watching and subscribe more video coming.

      Ghostginthree I did a lot of research online and this seems to be a common issue with the PMR30. What folks were doing was taking out the barrel and polishing the feed ramp just a tad with a dremmel. I did this. Now just need to go shoot. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the reply!

    • @Ghostginthree
      @Ghostginthree  7 лет назад

      Sweet. I did the same but just because I wanted to and after polishing the feed ramp, it worked great. I also frog lubed it and i can tell a difference. Let me know how your gun does. Thanks brother.

      Sorry to hear about that. I love mine and it shoots great. I had a friend who had problems with his but he had that first gen that came out and had problems. Kel-tec will replace the barrel free if you have that 1st. gen. If not, I suggested this to some friends, frog lube the barrel inside and out as that is about the only metal in it. Then of course load the mags correctly and keep it oiled and I swear these steps cured so to speak their Kel-tec PMR 30 problems. Do you still own this PMR30?

    Stop bashing old people. I am 70 and shoot .454 Casull pistol with one hand. Just bought a .416 Remington Magnum rifle.

      +ipscone No one is bashing old people, if you feel this way, you need to re watch or learn better english to understand the information. So your stress level to high, take some psych medication and relax. Good you can shoot a 454 but not everyone can, for many reasons, some old people and younger can't, so don't get your panties tied up in a wad.

    IF YOU LOAD THE ROUNDS USING THE TAP AFTER FIVE METHOD, YOU SHOULD NOT EXPERIENCE JAM OR LOAD FAILURE. A CHANGE ON THE DESIGN OF THE MAG RELEASE IS NEEDED, THOUGH, SO THAT ACCIDENTAL MAG RELEASE CANNOT OCCUR. KEL TEC MARKETS A MAVERICK EXTENDED BASE PAD FOR THE END OF THE MAG, WHICH HELPS WITH THE SITUATION. IF THE FACTORY MAG RELEASE CANNOT BE MOVED UP WHERE MOST OTHER RELEASES ARE LOCATED, THEN THE MAG SHOULD HAVE THESE AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT..... THE WEAPON IS VERY EASY TO CONCEAL CARRY, WITH LIGHT WEIGHT, YOU HARDLY NOTICE IT IS BEHIND YOUR WAISTBAND. NOT A POWERHOUSE CALIBER, BUT WITH 30 OF THEM COMING, STILL VERY FORMIDABLE WEAPON.

      +ipscone Wow and here I thought it was the space shuttle. You really are wound up to tight, stressed out over a video you could not understand. Might I suggest some tranqualizers for your high stress, lack of patience. Maybe owning and shooting guns is not a good idea for you. Just saying.
