It's hard to say which Traitor Legion had the most tragic fate compared to what they could have been, but the World Eaters are definitely up there; the Nails ruined everything for them, and they would have been better off without their Primarch
I tend to think Thousand Sons, because they were damned if you do damned if you don't, no matter what Magnus did: -Don't take Tzeentch's deal and they'll almost all be devolved into gibbering chaos spawn. -Take Tzeentch's deal and they end up as the tools of Chaos they are now.
@@papanurgle8393 True, but the World Eaters were supposed to be so much better than what they became, their Primarch was supposed to be the Emperor's empathy, leading a legion of honorable paladins defending the weak like the Salamanders. But Nuceria happened and they became mindless berserker
What's even worse is Angron never wanted this, he never wanted ANY of this. He didn't want to be a slave. He didn't want the bastardized implants of a fallen civilization drilled into his brain. He didn't want to lead a legion for a heartless father. He didn't want sons that tried so desperately to seek his approval. He wanted to be free. He wanted to be happy. And he could never be free. Those poor boys. They wanted so much for their father to love them that they did THAT to themselves. And for nothing. Angron was already a broken, twisted, bitter husk of a creature when he met his legion. They deserved so much better than him.
They deserved better than what the High Riders turned him into, but there are moments when Angron, the true Angron, the empathetic Primarch cracks through and shows that he did have love once.

Kharn would not admit the mistake of helping turn the legion into half a legion of berserkers. Was the approval of the primarch worth it. He won’t ever think or admit it just think about each new kill and skilled foe.

Gharte was an honest man wasn't he?

Gharte: "Piss on Angron's gave when he finally lies dead."
Angron: "When? I FUCKING WISH!!"
Best part is: Angron would've approved of such final words
He would've liked the "when" part: every time he's wished most for death, for freedom, it's denied to him.

The World Eaters, the more I find out about them, the more tragic they are.
It's basically abused sons trying desperately to get the impossible approval from a toxic AF father.
Angron was obviously not very popular in his legion.
Even before Horus Heresy, Angron goes Leeroy Jerkins' to the wall head 1st and dragging his entired legion with him.

If Ghaz doesnt get to permakill Angron, I hope its Kharn 😢
If only the Emperor had helped Angron the way he'd helped the other Primarchs.
