I laughed so hard when Andre showed up on the Eternal Crusader. Even harder when he was told he had to run 2km to the nearest shuttle bay to get back dirt side.
One of my favorite guard characters in all the books! Such a good scene.

Low key hope Andre is a crew member of the eternal crusader now. He's "dead" and he probably doesn't have the endurance to run full tilt to the hanger bay. Perfect setup for Andre to continue in the black templars.

He definitely has the endurance. He's a stormtrooper after all. If he's fast enough, and if he can actually find a shuttle bound to depart that close to a warp translation is another matter entirely xD

"That seems likely, but I am willing to bear the shame of it if you are."
"Very well then, I accept your kind offer."
The marine then picks up Andrej, throws him over his shoulder and starts running. Andrej, of course, is being himself.
"Andrej, one of the heroes of Helsreach, charging forward, hind quarters first! What a magnificent story this will be!"

Available only if you have a Sword Brethren specialist detachment, 6" range Grenade 1, usable once per battle. Hits automatically, each 2+ on 1d6 per (begun) 10 models in the target unit causes d3 mortal wounds.
Going by the rules, that was a bit of a waste (though given the situation, 1d3 mortal wounds probably came in handy), but going by the lore, it's a bad rule.

I listened to Jonathan Keeble read Helsreach, then you reading Blood and Fire, and I can honestly, sincerely say there was no drop in quality or spirit. This is a great piece of writing and you did it justice with your reading.

All due respect to Jonathan Keeble (narrator of the first Hellsreach book) and all of the other black library narrators, but you also deserve much credit for your narration skills. I've been listening to your readings for a while and they've only gotten better. This narration to me was just as good as when I listened to Hellsreach for the first time. Much respect man!

I just got into 40K after almost two decades of hearing friends talk about it. I listened to Helsreach, spent $600 buying my first army which is of course Black Templars, and now found your wonderful reading of the follow up.

Fantastic! Helsreach has always been one of my favorites, and this addition was just as great. Grimaldis will always be one of my favorite characters.

I've listened to your reading of this book several times, I've read this book several times, Kirov's death hits different every time, this last time it actually brought tears to my eyes. Such an amazing man and leader, a true example of humanities strength.
