'Did we hurt them, captain?' Asked Solathen. 'Did this mean anything?' Tarvitz thought for a moment before replying. 'Yes,' he said, 'we hurt them here. They will remember this.'
Showing how devastating the virus bombs are to Astartes, who have superhuman immune systems and sealed armor, only to follow it up with "Istvaan was a hive world" and complete silence was devastatingly effective.
8 billion human souls wiped out with a single button. The psychic death scream of the people of Isstvan III is said to have been brighter than the beacon of the Astronomican for the psychically aware.
Just to add a small but critical piece of information; as Saul Tarvitz travels to the surface via Thunderhawk, he warns Nathaniel Garro aboard the Eisenstein who would later inform Dorn and by extension Terra. Great vid as always! Btw!
@thathandsomedevil0828 That's the one! Those first few books are AMAZING! When I first read them I didn't realize just how ground breaking they were! Now looking back I'm like. "Wow" so much info and great characters! Truly EPIC!
@@D3is3l Yeah great book, I think this is also the one where Kharn gets impaled on the land raider maybe?! R.I.P Saul Tarvitz the last of the old breed of Emperor's Children!
Your videos on wh40k are so original. They have very good visuals, just enough to entrigue the imagination, truly a breath of fresh air. Perfectly made as always. I would love to see Istvaan 5 too. Sorry for my english
Love your work as always. Small correction to Traitor disposition: -Only 3 primarchs present, as Fulgrim was preparing on Istvaan V and Eidolon was in charge of III Legion forces. -Only 2 primarchs, Angron and Mortarion, fought planetside. Horus remained in orbit the whole time.
Which makes it only more ironic that the battle of Istvaan III only truly ended when Rylanor blew himself up with an undetonated virus bomb to kill Fulgrim a millennium later.
Saul Tarvitz deserves infinite praise for actively going DOWN TO THE PLANET knowing virus bombs were coming. If ever there were another giga chad in the Emperor's Children besides Rylanor, he was the embodiment of it.
The sheer amount of incredibly high quality videos you’ve pumped out in the last month and a half is astounding. I pray that this colossal amount of work you’ve done pleases the RUclips algorithm gods and I hope your not overworking yourself too much
Discoverd this/your Channel around 2 weeks ago and its already one of my absolut favorits in the Warhammer communite. You do great work in the name if the Emperor!
My interest in Warhammer has been limited to deep-dives into random Fandom pages to learn the lore and the characters: this type of content is bringing to life those same Fandom pages I enjoy reading; terrific work, keep it up.
your work really brings this stuff into a visceral, human-sized place where it's easier to understand and visualize the ungodly scale of the brutality and horror of the fiction. Really great work.
Great video, but I wish you had added more details like: - Visualising the location of important characters on the map - The escape of Qruze, Sindermann and the Remembrancers - Garro helping Tarvids, and taking control of the Eisenstein and fleeing the system I'm reading through the books and it can get difficult to keep a clear overview of where the characters are and what they are doing, especially when you go back in time and get into other perspectives like in Flight of the Eisenstein. Videos like this would be a big help
New sub. That silence after the virus bomb strike was so impactful, I legit got chills. Istvaan V would be a great follow up! I would love to see a breakdown of the siege of Terra some day!
Nice video i appreciate the hard work, a minor point but AFAIK the Loyalist forces had access to armour, in fairness mostly the Death Guard as the IIIrd, XIIth and XVIth primarily arrived via drop pod but the XIVth deployed in full battle order, there was actually even a limited Loyalist Titan presence, the few Titans of the Legio Mortis who couldn't be trusted. It is worth remembering Warhammer is a battle-game so they needed to make sure you had options if you were fielding a loyalist force.
Man! Thank you! I was really looking forward to this. I'm a new convert in 40k XD and just started reading the books. Now I wanted to see your Istvann V next or whatever the next event happened after this.
this is incredible!!!!!!!! seconded on the istvaan 5 suggestions too! take breaks of course, i can't imagine this video was easy to make! as a bonus, i'd love to see tarvitz's mid-flight communications with garro and garro's subsequent escape with the eisenstien!
I've been waiting for this to drop and you did not disappoint. Another exemplary video. Please do the dropsite massacre and the flight of the Eiesenstien.
love the video and the models, only gripe ive got is with you using primaris pieces which is a 40k poster boy, instead of the heresy armours, other than that awesome vid
Hate to be nit picky, but I'd have loved to have arrows showing the movements of the infantry @ the 6:00 minute mark. Besides that, I love the work, keep it up, you're providing great insight into the war that helps break it from the ephemeral mire of the mind. (I do like da visual)
Yesyes. As a newbie plebeian who was introduced a mere space marine 2 ago I’ve heard so much about this planet but no deep dives yet. Can’t wait to watch this after work ❤
To anyone watching this; I highly recommend reading the book(s). This event is from “Galaxy in Flames” and is basically the latter third of the entire book. As good as this video is it unfortunately must leave out LOTS of detail otherwise itd be hours long. One detail in particular which stood out to me; (SPOILERS for Galaxy in Flames) when Horus launched the virus bombs he had gathered all the civilian remembrancers from his fleet into an auditorium to “witness what war is truly like.” They were forced to watch billions die as Isstvan III was consumed by the World Eater virus. Many in the audience were beyond shocked and reduced to sobbing messes as they helplessly watched unimaginable evil unfold in front of them. Once the bombardment was completed Horus ordered the Astartes surrounding the outer edges of the room to slaughter the crowd. In seconds every single remembrancers were dead.
very good video! It would be great to have 2 videos about the last 2 members of the World Eaters and the 2 members of the Death Guard who were loyal to the Emperor.
oh man ya know we wanna see the dropsite massacre. out of all things i can think of it would be helsreach and dropsite massacre as THE things to show. excited to see it assuming you do start work on it. ill throw out a suggestion though of the play from the infinite and the divine that turned into a genestealer invasion and the play on fulgrims ship after he got slanneshed where everyone in the room got slaneshed
Istvaan V animation would be amazing
THIS

What a beauty of a video as always. Please do the Dropsite massacre too, this style of video is simply too wonderful

Incredibly chilling, great scripting on behalf of the creator, good shout mate.

Fulgrim deleted the primarch of the iron hands on Isstvan 3, right?
@@thathandsomedevil0828 No, that was later on Istvaan V

Love the depiction of the Choral City! And my boi Tarvitz! Would love to see Istvaan V!!
Love the 3D Breakdowns of WH40K, keep it up!
The infamous Imperator Titan, Dies Irea, was planetside when the virus bombs fell. It barely survived the resulting fire storm.
