Great video! Another subclass ( that was missing in the video) are armoury/storage worlds... these are basically planet sized storage houses where surpluss stuff goes or where stuff goes to be well stored before being shipped off to where it is needed. The new episode of tithes shows one of these worlds which is overflowing with resources causing new stuff that arrives to be destroyed. Another famous example of such a world was Vraks.
The hive world were supposed to be self sustaining worlds with AI and all shorts of futuristic things, now these worlds are just overpopulated irradiated slums
Also didn’t they used to have way more stuff for the people there (Ex. Free high quality food and water, malls, stores, parks, restaurants, arcades etc.) With most house’s admittedly small had VR to make your life better.
It's also worth noting for Forge Worlds don't pay standard Tithes, as they have a completely different system in place. It's all Production grades and those have a similar ranking to the Tithe system but on a way larger scale.
awesome video, as opposed to others I actually like the title cards, they remind me of these videos that show the sounds that each planet in the solar system produce based on electromagnetic waves, tho you could make the volume lower for them!
Great compilation. It's always been interesting to imagine how numerous humans in the Imperium are just living normal or primitive lives. I like to envision the life of a feudal human hearing stories of the God Emperor and interpreting things through the lens of someone with medieval-era technology.
its honestly what i like so much about the setting. theres so much mythical stuff going on with primarchs being almost like gods walking the battlefield, all the xenos stuff, chaos, meanwhile there still humans in some feral world going full "return to monke" hunting wild animals for food and their pelts. kinds crazy.

I barely know anything about 40k so maybe there's so lore reason as to why Mars is a forge world that I don't know about, but it really really really bugs me that they made mars a forge world instead of an agri world The fact is, growing crops under artificial light is economically infeasible at commercial scales and any colony that tried it would go bankrupt, but most of our solar systems objects have super messed up day night cycles meaning you can't just use sunlight like on earth, plants would just die of not having light for half a month. Mars is the only exception to this, it's day is only an hour shorter than on earth and conveniently has more of the chemical building blocks for creating earth like soil than pretty much anywhere else, which is also important because importing soil would also break the bank This means that unless we want to turn our sacred home world into one big corn field, mars is the only good place for agriculture in the solar system, meaning it would not only be much better off covered in radiation proof green houses, but will also most definitely will be in our actual universes timeline, making an agri world mars much more plausible Except that's not entirely true, as abundant agriculture means high population which means tons of man power for industry, + mars does have some good industrial aspects, mainly proximity to the asteroid belt and potential iron deposits if we assume mars once had life (iron deposits on earth were created by ancient dead iron eating bacteria) and such deposits will probably be denser than in asteroids making extraction easier, thanks to past geological activities the same can probably be said about other ores. So, mars will likely have plenty of industry, so it might end up as a civilized world depending on if exporting food is economical enough for it to lean into crops being its main thing or not (but I assume it will because of low gravity and mass drivers) Luna (the moon) and ceres would be better forge world, with mercury along for the ride as one big mineral deposit and titan along for the ride as one big gas station, as well as super computers taking advantages of the free cooling and radiation shielding titan provides This concludes my needy, borderline autistic, and clearly unemployed rant. I only hope that this was interesting to read and not just anurysm inducing 😭😭
Good video, but man it seems like your rushing through it. you should have put some examples with some of the categories and a but of a rundown for them.
Warriors. And meat. Picture the old American frontier with millions of bison roaming free. Come in every couple hundred years and reap the bounty, let it replenish, repeat. Low upkeep, low threat reliable harvest
I know its not that deep but let me nitpick. There is no way whole planets would have uniform characteristics, plus it would be inefficent to treat them like they do. For example earth has some areas that are paradise like, such as the alps and hawaii, these areas could be used as wellnes resorts. Africa sucs in every was possible, but its rich in important minerals, the whole place could be mined. Europe and north America is perfect for farming. Most planets couldnt be specifised as either this or that. Yeah there are some like Mars where the entire world is a single irradiated desert, so i guess these classifications work somethimes. Plus why prison planets are even a thing, no way any planet produces more criminals than they can store in their own prisons, plus those criminals could be put to work all the same except now they dont get payed but still contribite to their worlds. Plus it cant be efficent to burn all that fuel just to trasport criminals all across the cosmos just to lock them up, at that point i tought they would just kill them. How there are still medieval and stone age worlds? If the imperium is so desperate i assume they would be very interested in pushing these worlds up to speed. It would only take a relatively small expedition group and like 300 hundred years to teach the locals and industrialise the world, its very much worth it on the long run.
Cemetery worlds missing.
Literally a planet sized graveyard.
Afair they technically belong to eclesiarchy

Fun Fact: 80% of the worlds under the Imperium are civil worlds, the rest of them are either forge worlds, fortress worlds, hive worlds, etc.
I didn't know the main production of the Imperium is *paperwork*.

Hey great video but the sound fluctuates too much, the transitions are very loud while the the speaking voice is sorta quiet
