A lot of animals can rationalize getting actual injuries just makes foraging/hunting more difficult, so if they can opt out they will. Doesn't mean they dont beat each other up pretty good and sometimes overreach...

Learning that silverbacks have memories reaching back 26 yrs makes 12:24 feel more melancholy. Wonder how many Gorilla's, in their own way of course, had those thoughts when they enter their final years
