The most impressive thing in this movie is conditioning us the viewers that Po the Panda having a goose father is completely fucking normal, making the obvious reveal in the sequel surprising. . . . That and the fact somehow a movie about Panda doing Kungfu isn't done by Chinese themselves.

Not that he would've won with a clear head, he still would have likely lost, but it still hurt him
Also the Wu Xi finger hold didn’t actually exist, it was just a joke that masters played on students until the student would finally catch on that you can’t actually send someone to the spirit realm but hold long their pinky (until Po did it). Po created the Wu Xi finger hold basically but a real version of it

Probably the best Hollywood movie about China/Chinese culture, the opening scene based on shadow puppetry is amazing. I loved the picturesque ancient Chinese scenery throughout the movie with the traditional Chinese soundtrack, it sets the atmosphere perfectly. Absolutely 10/10 movie

4:43 My favorite bit of 'show don't tell' foreshadowing they did in this movie. They try to give Po acupuncture but comment that it isn't working because of his 'size'. Later Tai lung is using his acupuncture techniques (which he used on the 5 before) and finds he can't because of Po being too fat. Great set up earlier in the movie and great payoff.
