Also, Marty is seen moving around bipedal so it's implied he is simply more comfortable on all 4s. 2. Beaches have all kinds of random garbage floating up on their beaches, there is a plane crash on the island and added content shows something that appears to be a sort of dumping ground on one side of the island, it is very much within the realm of reason he could have found that lock.
