    I followed along and changed my foam in less than an hour.
    I had to use my old seat cover because it was cloth, but it is still in good shape, so it worked out.
    The seats are definitely firm, more than I would like, but the bolster is solid and they will break in with some time.
    I just ordered more foam for some fleet vehicles.
    A+

    Order arrived at my house FAST. I installed my new foam cushion, seat heater, and all leather cover on the driver's seat in my 05 Suburban in about five hours start to finish yesterday. The videos are a HUGE help. It looks great. The scrubbing bubbles tip worked perfectly although I would add a "rinse step" with plain wet towel and then dry with another towel. Wow the dirt and grime that I removed! My forearms and hands are a bit tired today! Getting the cover plastic channel pulled pver and clipped on and secured was a JOB but I got it done!

      We appreciate the feedback and are glad we were able to help you out! Yeah, getting the clips on is one of the more difficult steps of the install but you got it done and that's great! If you happen to have any before and after pictures of your seat covers that you would like to share, please feel free to send it to sales@theseatshop.com - thanks again!

    I just replaced both leather seat bottoms on my 2003 GMC Sierra Denali and the heating element on the driver's side. I would have not been able to do it without your tutorial videos. Thanks for producing these "how to" videos. I will point out that if anyone is replacing the heat element, like I did, on the driver's side, the plug on the Dorman replacement heater is on the wrong side for the passenger side. You have to remove the the black tape from the wiring harness and move the heater plug to the other side in order to plug Dorman element in. Other than that, everything was a perfect fit.

    2:34 Just did mine. Put a piece of wood across those galvanized frame rails, put some padding on it and then kneel on it. You have to crush the foam down and you will still have to crush the edge foam with your hands as you twist the cover clip on.

      Thanks for this tip!
      This was easily the most difficult part of this install for me. I bought the upgraded pad and it is not as forgiving as the OEM. It took all of my 200 lbs to mash the foam, then I had to pull and stretch the leather to get to a position to roll... I picked the wrong day to fast.

    This shop is great. I'm on my 3rd seat cover and first foam + cover. The videos are first rate as are the prices and quality of the covers. TIP: go all leather, top and sides, not just top only like OEM.

    Received my leather conversion from cloth for a 07 sierra SLE. I have already done the conversion for the rear crew cab and just installed the seat cushion for the front passenger bucket seat cushion. I might have a helpful hint while you do your install. When you get to the front of the seat clip. Since a lot of us don't have the strength (70 year old finish carpenter who used his hands like a vise grip for over 30 years but lost his grip)in our hands like Brian and Hunter (who was very helpful with install) who can bend 1/4" angle iron flat. While bending the clip over on frame I couldn't get it to clip. So I took my plastic hammer and using the red (softer side) and yellow (harder plastic side) with a softer medium blow was able to get the clip to snap in. Also be prepared if you don't have hands with the grip of a set of vise grips, be prepared for some sore hands for a day or two. So if bring your patience and will power if will go on. If a 70 year old can do it then heck so can you. The Seat Shop covers once done look dope. This is my second of truck seat conversion (first one was a 01 F250) from cloth to leather from The Seat Shop. You cannot find a nicer set of people or company to work with. Just a side note about the company. This is actually my third set of covers I have bought from them. My second set I bought were never installed because of a roll over accident with the second truck. I called TSS about exchanging them for the truck I just bought. To my surprise they worked out an exchange that was agreeable to me. These people are awesome from owners to the employees you will not find a better company than them. Sorry this comment is longer than the video but I cannot say enough good things about TSS.

    I thought I was going to get this done quickly but hit a road block learning I needed E-Sockets 14 & 20 to remove the anchoring bolts that hold the entire seat in place. Haven’t been able to find a local shop that carry’s those sizes. Anyway I’m forward to installing the covers.

  • @glenfhurley

    Thanks! This was very helpful. However, I was unable to re install the cover in the order they did. I just could NOT get the first edge to roll over and lock when the rear clip was in place. So I STARTED with the seat partially inside out, installed the long front clip, went around the corners, and down the sides. Then I turned the cover right side out, and working from the bottom opening, I got the Velcro in place and clipped the bottom clips.
    Try that if you can't get the front started...

    I just want the lower seat frame so my seat bottom will raise and lower and I can't find that part anywhere. It goes forward, back, tilts the back, lumbar, heater and all works but the bottom of the seat is stuck and won't work because that part is stripped. This means the seat front is lower than the back and it feels like you're going to slide off the front into the floor board. I'd change the seat covers like this and have a new seat but since it's not working completely there's no use fixing a half working seat. 2005 Silverado 1500 LT Crew front driver seat, passenger works fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

    • @110101719
      @110101719 3 года назад

      Tbh like any older vehicle that doesn't have parts made anymore, first find the gm part number and grind on Ebay, your local craigslist, junk yards etc, and look for a replacement frame with attached components. It sucks but really the only way and be prepared to spend a bit as you may find only the whole seat and you will have to make a decision on how committed you want to be to fix it...also some components, have multiple year fit so check that too.

    Brian. I’m working on a customers 05 Tahoe tonight. I got the new blue foam for the drivers seat as well. Is there any trimming needed on the new foam on the front lower? Having a devil of a time with the front lip.

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  3 года назад +2

      You shouldn't have to trim, what you can do is make sure you have a clean surface to avoid nicking the cover and flip the frame so the it is facing up. You can then add weighted pressure so that it squeezes the foam and provides you the needed slack. Let me know if that helps or if you have any more install questions.

    If your are also replacing the cushion as well, does the existing cushion just pop off or are their clips?

    • @TheSeatShop
      @TheSeatShop  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the comment, so the foam cushion just sits on the frame, the cover attaches to the top of the foam with either velcro or hog rings then it wraps around the foam cushion and clips onto the frame. Please let us know if this answered your question.

      Hey I know you posted this 2 years ago but I too needed a material seat cover and came across a site that sells the material itself. www.midwestfabrics.com/fabric.html?vehicle_make=64
      If one area gets damaged you can cut it out at the seams and have new material sewn in. Just perfect if you get a small tear or cig burn hole.
