After all this time, we're back in the familiar territory of the Bleeding Sun story. Functioning as a spiritual successor and distant prequel to Godhunter, "My Church" takes a look at the rise of a charming southern cult leader who starts with a small following and slowly corrupts and entrances them with promises of salvation in the end times. Obsessed with his visions of the future and dreams of ruling the ashes after a coming war, no cost is too great to build The Elder's promised congregation.
The artwork is a beautiful piece by @ABluSkittle

Lyrics:
Wild fire calls me to the madness that I seek
We've seen bold things that our storied hearts will keep
Who am I to deny the ascension of man
When I alone could bring it on with my healing hands
Don't mourn what's left in the burning states behind
You've come this far if you've opened up your mind
To a new rebirther
So take it one step further
Where the rivers meet the coming red tide
I got miracles for those on my side
In the willows I built my steeple
My spirit, my church, my people
Newfound faith that's vested in me
Now our bloody hands will heal the unclean
In the wastes I raise my steeple
My spirit, my church, my people
Some say we're doomed in the heart of our belief
Death stilled their lips and maintained the peace we keep
Now I've seen in a dream that I'm destined for a throne
Once I've conquered the cage of this flesh and bone
Accept what's kept in reaches of your soul
Cut off your will and leave the guilt you hold
Give it all to the rebirther
Let's take it one step further
Where the rivers meet the coming red tide
I got miracles for those on my side
In the willows I built my steeple
My spirit, my church, my people
Newfound faith that's vested in me
Now our bloody hands will heal the unclean
In the wastes I raise my steeple
My spirit, my church, my people
My church, yeah
My steeple
My church, yeah
My people
No, I've come too far
To give up on faith
When it's all my own creation
Bow down, face to the floor
I can heal you soon
When you've blurred your mind's foundation
It's too late for the rest now
But it's never too late for you
I'll share the truth
The end will come and take us
And the sun will bleed us dry
My church renewed
As promised soon
Where the rivers meet the coming red tide
I got miracles for those on my side
In the willows I built my steeple
My spirit, my church, my people
Newfound faith that's vested in me
Now our bloody hands will heal the unclean
In the wastes I raise my steeple
My spirit, my church, my people
My church, yeah
My steeple
My church, yeah

As a DM for a DnD group i still can't believe how much influence your music had on my story and world design. Your music is amazing.
On god, I love Aviators' songs for worldbuilding and even boss themes
Every time I start a new campaign I pick an Aviators song as the campaign theme song and play it at the start of every session.
This ain't even a lie. And it's apparently more universal than I thought.
You're not the only DM. Im with ya. But Aviators is so absolutely fantastic and these songs are so full of art that any one can apply it to whatever fandom they're into. It's amazing
Same, these songs have inspired so many campaign arcs
“No cost is too great to build The Elder's promised congregation” I just KNEW that this was the Elder’s origin song as soon as Modern Mythology dropped! God, I love the Bleeding Sun universe 🥰
I thought this took place after the Hunter started hunting gods.
@@the11382 says so in the description it is a distant prequel.
Where did that quote come from?

This one was so fun to sing, everyone else in the crowd did a great job.
Wait… do you mean I can see Aviators live in person? I must know how!
@@scottweaver2478 it's what people call the backing vocals, roughly 80+ people submitted recordings of them singing the chrous to be included in the song. Avi hasn't done a concert in almost 10 years sadly.
@@kernelofficial I would paid to see him in concert
@@wapankiller1219 Same, but it could be a while before we ever see that again.
@@kernelofficial How did u get selected?
Had a lot of fun doing the crowd vocals for this song, turned out wonderfully :)
i can't get enough of this song ITS SO CATCHY
The first time through i was like "meh not my thing" now my 67564th time through getting my Cowboy hat on an heading on the Ol dusty trail.
Yeah, I'm not even that religious, but this is sooooo catchy, I can't stop listening
Perfect for a new game of New Vegas
Woah surprised this doesn't have more replies. Now I gotta watch more of your videos because I know you have good taste-
Got ya to 200
Yet another catchy masterpiece, I adore and admire the way you make your lyrics tell a whole story and the beat and vocals harmonizing perfectly, it's just too good. ♥
Seeing the comments of one of the best animators around on aviators songs... it fills me with *Determination.
And hope.
And some more similar things...
It's nice to see you have a good taste in music.
This is weird day for me ı see 4 big youtuber comment
Hello!
no way
no fucking way
I love how it goes "In The Willows I raise my Steeple" to "In The Wastes I raise my Steeple"
It was fun to help sing in the chorus of this song! Can't wait for the next one! :)
Though a tough call, this is what I consider my favorite song of the album. Absolutely glorious.
It’s so good but i think it’s gotta be Painkiler or 21st Century Monster
@@queencyrys6309 mine has got to be "The Cards You Hold", the callback to "Open Your Eyes" is so freaking good, "Open Your Eyes" was my favorite song of Aviators for a long time so of course i absolutely loved "The Cards You Hold".
(I also have fond memories of me and my mother singing Open Your Eyes together, she loved the song.)
The bleeding sun universe is an extremely well built universe and I'd love a series/trilogy inspired by it. Obviously it's never gonna happen but whatever
Also, the "but it's never too late for you" line is such an amazing callback to one of Avi's best song
Is there a chronology somewhere? I don't know where this song is in the timeline.
@@the11382 it's practically the backstory of the dude in Godhunter. So very distant Prequel to that I guess
I heard that line and it hit me that it might be a sequel but this makes more sense
@@michaelvalentinoyo1259 this entire album is related to the elder
I am standing in The Year of Rogue Dragons once more. Well done. 👏🏼
Man I can't understate how much I NEEDED the lyrics on this one. And they look so crisp too!
One my favorites of this album!
The Bleeding Sun universe is still expanding! I am so happy about this! Do you have plans for more songs about this story please? Except Constellations which is my very favourite song, my other fav songs all come from the Bleeding Sun universe.
It'll be a ways off, but the next full album is an in-universe Bleeding Sun story!
@@SoundOfTheAviators hell yeah!
@@SoundOfTheAviators hype!
Wait. Is the bleeding sun universe a story that Aviators created?
@@SoundOfTheAviators AW, SWEET! 🤩 I think about eleven of the twenty-something of your songs I've memorized have been from The Bleeding Sun universe. 😁
I love this song so much. It was my favourite from the album.
The energy, the madness and the frenzy that comes from the song and culminates in an insane chant of belief and reckoning of the end of days.
"Now our bloody hands will heal the unclean. In the wastes I raise my steeple, my spirit, my church, my people."
Amazing as always Avi!
This song is a real nice bop. I love the sinister undertones of using your bloody hands to wash the unclean. It adds a nice twist to what on paper sounds like a catchy faith song.
isent that all religions.......................
@@NightmareRex6 Cringe and generic, a comment that required absolutely no thought, congrats you made internet discourse slightly worse
The subtext in the little details is just perfect, in particular the “Lets take it one step further” since I imagine that’s how real cults convince people to do horrible things, by simply asking them to take “one more step” until they’re waist deep in blood and fanaticism
With Gary defeated, John and Father Garcia turn their attention to defeat a leader of an eldritch cult.
Incredible Faith
Immaculate Art
The Comfort Of Man Know’s No Bounds
Beautiful Music
Thank You
great song as always, been listening way too much ever since the album was released
this one is actually my favorite of this album.
I can see what the flow of the red waters dream and the waiting for a savior give us; a new church to follow, a new faith to thrust.
Also what a good song that give me the same vibes from Godhunters album.
Seriously, good job Avi!
there's also a paralell both of them say "the madness I seek" or something to that effect I think this is the goddhunter guy before he built his unholy throne
@@marley7868 You're right. If you read the description it confirms that this is basically The Elder's origin story.
OOOOOO YES!!!
I've been to a talk from a survivor of a real cult, a very famous case in my country. This song is accurate on so many levels...
Once again, another incredible crowd anthem I was happy to be a apart of! It's so addicting! I love the callback to It's Too Late For A Savior at 3:28 and that final post-chorus with the harmonies at 4:42 is FIRE! 10/10. Would definitely join this cult!
Aight, time to build another cleric
I know this isn't related to "Cult of the Lamb", but it came out close to the time I first heard of that game & now its linked in my head.
this feels like part of the prelude to the Godhunter album and I am LIVING FOR IT.
Well, apparently it is. A distant prequel to Godhunter and the rest of songs in the Bleeding Sun universe.
I loved singing in the crowd for this one. Thanks for having me and the 127 others. The final song turned out absolutely amazing, by far my favorite on the album.
Clerics when their entire party isn't nerfing them:
They're too dangerous to be left alive!
Damn Cult of the Lamb looking sick.
It actually kinda reminds me of pop cult crucifixion, love the songs related to the bleeding sun, aswell as the songs in the modern mythology album!
Definitely one of my favorite voices of the crowd songs. I always love the anthem-esque triplet/swing songs, and this was probably my favorite to sing. This turned out really well!
This is one of the most catchiest songs from you! The hook behind the chorus, that build up is just great. It makes me like: Oooh! Here it comes!
Just want to say this was absolutely amazing to listen to. I love the Gospel/southern feel of it, and it's just fantastic.
This was also great for me as well, and I also think it’s a fantastic song! 😀
Amen brother, stay strong in Christ! We must spread the good Word and News, and try to urge people to was themselves clean by the blood of Jesus. 😊✝️☦️
He can clean you
And He can heal you
@@rayvaul3539 I uhh... I'm not sure if you wanna be evangelizing when directly talking about a tyrannical cult that in other songs is established to be very fucky?
@@rayvaul3539 yes but this is most certainly a song about someone establishing a 'church' cult in THEIR OWN name. Please read the lyrics, dude
Always a good day when aviators puts out a new song 😁
Can't decide if I like it or not, then I realized that the rythm, the crowd and your magical voice have miracles for those on you side.
Amazing
This song just embodies all the swagger and power of a cult leader to me man, It's cool.
This song gives me the same vibes as “No One Will Save You”. Both are such amazing song and I feel such a connection between them despite the large differences they have
i can hear myself in the back thank you aviators for giving me that the chance to sing with you and other talented people!!!!! can't wait for the next voices of the crowd project!!!
My Gods this sounds like something I could add to a book I'm writing. It's quite literally celtic cowboys fighting in the ruins of our world, and this sounds like something they'd have as a dream
Probably my favorite from the album. The chorus is so catchy, and I am a sucker for choral segments.
OK I have a question how in the absolute fuck does this guy not have way more followers by now!? Start spreading this guy's work out fella's he deserves the recognition for this stuff it's way better then mainstream music by a long ass shot!
This guy has so many cool ideas for worlds, I’d like to see an unofficial dnd setting made by him
The quality of all your songs rise with each release. Hell yeah, keep it up.
I have to say that when I started listening to this, I was finishing up a novel. AND IT FIT SO DAMN WELL.
Name?

Southern Alternative huh, well I have a new genre of music to get into thank you.
I like how much variety in music Aviators puts out for us. Keep up the great work 👍
When you're playing D&D and the BBEG is a life domain cleric:
I can never get over how you tell a whole cohesive story with your songs
This song is absolutely perfect for one of the antagonists of the D&D campaign I run.
Ahbus, The Good Doctor. A demigod, patron of the innocent, the downtrodden, and the less fortunate. He believes in helping people through your own power, and so despises magic as well as clerics. He forges new life through the death of the oppressors and criminals, those he deems *unclean*. All through healing fire.
How is that an antagonist?
@@peter_kitsune Interestingly enough, my players didn't see him as one either. Until they realized that the unclean was everyone from the Incompetent and classist king, to a lowly pickpocket. Ahbus would try kill *any* criminals and oppressors. That actually included the rouge of my party. Eventually it got to the point where he was planning to secede. "In the willows I will raise my steeple, my spirit, my church, *my people* ". He had jumped immediately into action, instead of finding a peaceful solution. This again put him at odds with the party.
He wasn't a villain, but he was certainly an antagonist.
@@peter_kitsune An antagonist is simply someone who opposes the protagonist. As for the question you're actually asking : how does this make him evil or a villain? 'the path to hell is paved with good intentions'. As Cat described, he is willing to perform a cleansing of anyone that has done anything wrong. Not only is that disproportionate, but the cult like methods are not going to lead to a better society in the long run. Not only is he doing evil things in the band of good, his ways are going to cause even more harm, which in my eyes easily makes him a villain.
Lately I've been lurking in some of ABkuSkittle's streams and his art is just astounding. His style speaks to me in some way.
Your awesome songs and his great art compliment each other in the best ways.
AAAAAA I'm glad you think so! ^^
Is that a callback to "it's too late for a savior"?? This song is so good I'm literally crying
I love Godhunter so much, I'm so glad there's a prequel song! ❤♡❤♡
And on top of that, this song hits so good!!
This song is amazing and I love your song and I love playing your music and just be happy and when I get sad or mad or all of that stuff and play your music and I'll be happy again so over all keep up the amazing work and make other people happy.
Probably my favorite of your songs! I love the atmosphere and story!
This gives me huge Midnight Mass vibes in a really excellent way. Very well done
This is now a necromancer in my DND campaign. He is rather ingenious for using his ability to gather large cult followings and having them commit mass death by koolaid, and raises them back up as his own personal army. This is a major plot point btw
I not only love your songs, but also the fact, that the lyrics videos are lookin' so awesome!
Thank you for putting your heart into what you make. Most songs today feel empty but yours always have heart.
Such an amazing song that provides some nice background for the Bleeding Sun series. I really enjoyed all the homages to the other songs in the series. At this point i don't think it's possible for Aviators to release even a mediocre song, they're all phenomenal
The refrain is so good, love love love the melodic connection with Too Late for a Saviour. good stuff
Your music always gets the inspiration flowing!
Any one of your songs is a masterpiece. That you do this repeatably is beyond insane and I'm always happy to hear the next one!
Been listening to your work for a few years now, but recently I've become enthralled with the series of albums and songs telling the tale of the Bleeding Suns, it's a tapestry of music and storytelling all wrapping together to create one masterpiece!
Can't wait to see where you take it next, sir!
Was out celebrating my birthday when I saw this came out. Thanks for impromptu birthday present. Aviators is definitely still my favorite music creator.
Doesn't this feel kind of like a calling?
Very good and love the melody! 🤩
My favourite song from the album. I love the transition to the chorus!
I'm sooo happy you continue the Godhunter series ! It's such a good addition
I've had this one song on repeat for days now since I discovered the old video for it, and it's an earworm still. One of my favorites man, keep it up!
This, this was my favorite song of the album, it gives you such feeling, thank you for all the hard work you did
It's nice to see ever-evolving effects used in video. I really appreciate them
Ave Revivus!
As always, the art is awesome and compliments the song so well. I especially like the way the lyrics were done with the chorus being in front of the person's hand like he was casting them or preaching them out. This is definitely one of my favorites on this album!
I love this style. It reminds me of Poor Man's Poison in a sense
I love how I pause a Avi's song to play another Avi's song.
Loved it guys. Can't stop listening!
As someone who religiously sings "Faith" from your album "Masks" among other classics. I was waiting diligently for another slammer like this. You, as usual, don't disappoint man.
love all your music and will always share the good tunes
This was my first "Voices in the Crowd," and I honestly had a lot of fun! I hope another one happens again at some point, as I'd love to do it again.
Eyy this song. Glad I could be one of the ones to help!
Definitely, One of my favorites songs of the album and I can happily listen it on RUclips. Thanks Aviators for making a great song.
Y’allternative.
Honestly, a weirdly fitting style.
You always do such a great job💕
I LOVE catchy Masterpieces, and this is yet another one.
They are so talented at making them! ~ I'm making a list.
One of my favourite songs from the new album, and an easy Top 10 song. Keep up the awesome work Avi
Blasting this while playing Cult of the Lamb. It's so good.
I am terrified. I was just looking through RUclips to find a theme song for the god of madness in my D&D campaign, and the whole story of this song is unsettlingly close to how he rose to power in the campaign setting
Once again never disappoints with your music
Was hyped for this song, thanks!
I saw this yesterday while working and gave it a listen, but only one headphone absolutely didn't do justice. Now I'm listening to it non stop at home, amazing work!
This song makes me wanna praise the lord and pass the ammunition
A while ago i had this idea for a book and for some reason everyone of your songs fits so perfectly with my idea
Ooh, I was waiting for this one! One of my favorites off the album!
This is great, man. Absolutely amazing job.
The lyrics is Demanding but humble, Music is calm and intense. Just what a good song needs
It amazing how much this guys music has influenced me over the years ive been listening.
YES! I am so happy to see a lyric video for this song, it was my favorite from the album! "It's late for the rest now, but it's never too late for you" reminds me of Too Late for a Savior and I love it
Aviators is SUPER underrated.
Oh, I love this. Godhunter was one of my favourites and this hits the same spot.
