LYRICS: At the edge of understanding, the border of the known The breaking point of reason, where logic is dethroned Where sense is defenceless and festers on the bone You'll find entropy's offensive is rendered in the stone As you roam through the oldest house Home to all you weren't told about Trapped within a labyrinth it goes without Saying that we're praying that they don't get out Prison for the isn't sitting hinged within a schism Of half reflected architecture, dark unending prisms Part objective, part conjecture partnered with tradition Where the paperwork is worshipped and the rituals are written When the black rock cracks and the firebreak ends The Director is left as the line of defence When the trenches have fallen to forces unknown Perhaps you should answer the phone If you can't place the pin Where patterns end and you begin Follow the Director Else you're gonna slide into the void But if the world you knew Has cracked and fallen through Go to the projector Load another slide into the void There's the strangest correlation observation will present In the systems we can witness and the signals they have sent The forces yet unknowable that ripple through cement Inscrutable intrusions. Altered World Events. Where reality cracks and impacts on the next And dimensions fragment as the astral projects On benign, undefined archetypal objects Until Ordinary's torn up and normal defects In effect, what you're left with are OoPs Objects of power, a flying TV A light that can hijack your mind as you see A safe that's encased in a shield of debris These frequencies are frequently the key to what's perceived to be And vis-à-vis are feeding off the reaches of the mind But recently the sequence has repeated and repeated And it leaves me with the theory that they're trying to get inside You hear our words but you forget Push your fingers through the surface to the wet We wait in the stains. We build you 'til nothing remains. In the name of the sound of the name. (How do you say “insane”?) Repeat the word. Repeat the word. Repeat the word. Egg cracks and the truth will emerge A copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy You are home. You remind us. Happy. Hurt. If you can't place the pin Where patterns end and you begin Follow the Director Else you're gonna slide into the void But should your world collapse And fall right off the maps Go to the projector Load another slide into the voi The Director is the Bureau's one connection to the Board Obey the mighty Bakelite and file your reports Telephony in effigy must never be ignored So if you hear a ringing you had better pull the cord And explore the decor of the OceanView Where the doors only open for a chosen few Check your logic at the desk, you won't need it to progress A dream is just a test to be broken through Like the smoke entombed in the rooms of the ashtray Furniture fractals, the carpet cascades Lost in a labyrinth of lounge chairs and lampshades Wallpaper warps into infinite pathways There's no limit to the dangers of phenomenon we keep Or the chaos that would reign should the panopticon be breached This never ending edifice is perched upon the precipice Since we let in the resonance the future's under siege If you can't place the pin Where patterns end and you begin Follow the Director Else you're gonna slide into the void But if you see the seams Where motels meld with dreams Go to the projector Load another slide into the void I've analysed the data, I've catalogued the signs Run every simulation, every sample I can find I would give an explanation but we haven't got the time We're drowning in the waveforms and our minds are in the tide Of elegant malevolence sequestered in the resonance Nesting in the head of every denizen Tell me, is it heaven-sent? Is the devil even relevant? When questioning the presence of dimensional intelligence Thresholds unfold as a door that knocks In the ticking, in the ticking, in the ticking of the clocks We are holding the key we just don't see the locks Paradise and parasite in parallel, in paradox We stand on a mantle where matter divides To abstractive fractures that tangle and writhe Through cracks in reality trapped in a slide Such intangible sanctuary Hedron provides (You are a worm through time You've always been the new you The hole in your room is a hole in you The picture is you, holding the picture) Breaking the first the second, the third, the fourth wall Fifth wall, no floor, you fall Earworm humming in a dream Baby, baby, baby yeah. Just plastic. You want to listen. You want to dream. You want to smile. You want to hurt. You don’t want to be. You want to listen. You want to dream. You want to smile. You want to hurt. You don’t want to be. If you can't place the pin Where patterns end and you begin Follow the Director Else you're gonna slide into the void But should your towers fall Free your mind and heed the call Go to the projector Load another slide into the void

@@eazolan Or like a turtle (of indeterminate gender) flying endlessly through space, with four elephants on its back, and a massive disc on top of them?
It's so obvious this was written by someone who has not only played the shit out of Control, but really thought very deeply about its themes and implications. The decision to use bits of the Hiss chant in the rap was a particularly canny one, as the chant was not only already pretty close to rhyming and pleasing to say (as Dylan himself points out), but already seemed to be referring to events in-universe.
@Bronze Eagle Productions This comment caused me to look up the incantation on the wiki, only to then find a link to this song in the comments on the wiki article.

Practically every third line of this song suddenly has a double meaning upon finishing the actual game. The lines about the Trenches falling, resonance, and Hedron all make sense in multiple ways.
"Paradise and parasite in parallel, in paradox" is pretty cool too. Like Polaris being within Jesse, and the Hiss in others. With both sides, there are unknown motives all around.
@@whuspr Since Jesse and Dylan seems to be the same person according to one of the board's transmission, this line is even stronger. Jesse is a manifestation of Hedron, while Dylan is a manifestation of the Hiss. Also when the kids from ordinary went in the projector there was apparent physcal transfromation on some of them(the dogman).
And all of Cami-Cat’s lyrics have meaning. Especially the first and third verse which is legitimately just parts of the hiss incantation edited and jumbled up.

Underappreciated line "Where the paperwork is worshipped and the rituals are written". You'd expect paperwork to be written and rituals to be worshipped. In one line, it perfectly encapsulates that "Nothing is what it should be here."
Its actually more than that. Paperwork is worshipped can be interpreted as to reflect just how bureaucratic the FBC is. Every AWE, OOP or Altered Item meticulously categorized and analyzed. Its also a reflection of modern devices not being allowed in the oldest house, thus the use of analog technology. Paper still reigns supreme in the oldest house, when the world has already moved digital. Which brings me to the Rituals are written - the FBC quite literally pushes the idea of avoiding modern tech. You can see it plastered over the walls of the oldest house like some sort of propaganda poster.
@@WorldoftheLegends paradise = very good ideal place, parasite = bad thing that feeds off another thing, parralel = alongside eachother, paradox = cannot be explained. Therefore "an ideal world and something that leaches from others are together and we can't understand why".

Its the feeling of a man on the edge of unraveling secrets that would turn the tide, but who has no way to simplify it for the average man to understand. A man trapped and working endless hours to save something important without even understanding how important that thing is because its beyond his ken, even as he desperately TRIES to understand because the mere understanding might save it
The subtitles dont cover the beautiful majesty of the scientist's lyrics, his stutters and the little "glitches" in the world make the words flow perfectly. "Objects of power, uhh, A floating TV". The little stutter began lll between the two bits of the sentence both adds character to the character and works perfectly with the flow of the song. I can't applaud hard enough. And I haven't even played the game, so this is solely on music alone. It's so good.
Once you play the game, you'll see how vital those little glitches and stutters are to carrying the character of the character in Control in the name of the sound of the name. Leave your insides by the door. Push your fingers through the surface to the wet.
Plus they managed to string together the nonsense phrases said by the Hiss afflicted into a coherent chant. I bought the game after listening to the song and I was blown away by how much they were able to draw off of it.

I haven't played Control so I don't know if the line "You'll find entropy's offensive is rendered in the stone" references something in the game (knowing Stupendium, it almost certainly does!), but after a year of listening to this song, I just realized something: in the late 1800s, physicist Ludwig Boltzmann proposed a formula for entropy, S=klogW, that was so fundamental that it went on to be engraved on his tombstone in Vienna. That is to say, entropy is *literally* rendered in stone. Such perfection throughout the whole song that the little things shine like this!
You're right, it does reference something in the game. The substance known as Black Rock is mined by the Federal Bureau of Control for its abilities to dampen paranormal phenomenon, so the Bureau's offensive capabilities against the anomalies they deal with is literally rendered in the stone, the black rock.

This song got me to buy the game. After playing it, I don't know if I could have more appreciation for a songs lyrics than this one. The way they used so many things from the game and made it sound like a coherent song. The little snip-its from quotes said in the game, lore behind Oceanview hotel, even the Hedron device Dr. Darling made. Speaking about Dr. Darling, the background set they made is absolutely perfect, from the first recording you see of him in the game. It almost looks exactly like the actor, well done The Stupendium on the outfit design
Looking at it, those are the actors you see in the game itself. I think he might have edited out Dr. Darling to have a greenscreen set, which is... honestly just as impressive. Wow.

@@maccat38 It does not necessarily have to be from exactly a specific time period. Instead, there seems to be a distinction between "the new" and "the old". Sure, the gun can be a much newer design, but it mostly functions on the exact same principle. The idea being that technology which is too modern can be straight up alien for the Oldest House. The way you need to look at it is that the Oldest House was not "built" specifically for humans. From it's perspective the FBC are just some of many visitors. To some other beings, modern technology which we consider normal, especially the likes of modern semiconductors, can seem just as absurd as altered items seem to us.
@@dozenDevil The lines "You slide into the void" and "put a slide into the void" cause the "slide into the void" section to gain a different meaning based on context. To put it simply, their definitions change. In the first instance, you move smoothly along a surface while staying in constant contact with it down into the void with pretty much no way of controlling your descent. In the second instance, it is referring to the way those really old projectors used to work, effectively just being a lamp with a lense attached to it. Between these two pieces, you'd put an image of thin foil, framed with something more solid, like cardboard. This piece, containing the image, is also called a slide. Your rapping never stops to improve, same with the video editing an d effects. Loved Cami-cats appearance in this catchy chorus, your lyrical genius knows no bounds. 🤘
I like how the whole scientist parts both explain nothing but make everything clear. It's like someone breaking apart a Lovecraftian Horror story through the lens of science: We don't understand how it works but that doesn't mean we don't understand what it does.
Weirdly, that’s how a lot of science works. Static electricity and gravity, for example; we have no idea what causes electrons to move from one object to another from friction alone, or what causes objects to attract each other based on mass, but we can quantify it.
And the way he delivers that entire verse shows that the experience of this experiment has caused the scientist to lose control of his own mind. So freaking good!

I can understand why that's the one. It's very different from my usual stuff and it was made at an awkward time in my journey. My songs were getting more ambitious technically but I wasn't at a point where I could afford professional music production, so it's not brilliant sounding, I was mixing myself and not doing a great job. It isn't one of my favourites to listen to, that's for sure. Lyrically however it's quite a special one to me. I wasn't writing for wit or puns on NWLH, it's actually quite a personal song. It was a bit of an experiment in writing about two things at once. On the surface (no pun intended) it is a song about Subnautica and surviving an ocean wilderness. But underneath that it's a song about my own personal experiences with ambition, dreams and my career. Finding my path to where I am now. Dreaming of one thing (space travel/working in animation/theatre) but failing. But then using those skills to find and flourish in something new and maybe even better (underwater survival / RUclips). I hope that gives you a little insight into my thoughts behind that song! I totally get why that one in particular isn't for everyone though. :)

I like how even though all of the characters are played by just one person stipendium still finds a way to give them a little separation in personality. Whether it is the costume or their small traits. Like the Director (I haven't played control so I will assume the man in the suit and tie is the director) has a mostly monotone voice while the scientist has little stutters like he is trying to explain a scientific theorem to you in words you'll understand.
There are several things I love about this song. I really like the fact the chorus includes lot of the Hiss' chant. I really like how you can actually get both the Doctor and the Director properly down even to their body language and of course the visuals are amazing especially the cascading segments of the Ashtray. Most songs barely put a few references to the song, but don't build the entire verse around certain phrases or make actual quotes flow so seamlessly. Such a good song, and such a good introduction to the zany world of Control.
@@fanachy7861 if you're still curious, it's kind of like SCP containment breach. About a government division called the Bureau of Control, who's work is to "control" objects of power created by altered world events. But the story itself is about a women called Jessie who comes to the bureau to find her brother who was taken after the bureau dealt with an AWE in her hometown when they were kids. She becomes the new Director and has to stop the intrusion of an extradimensional entity called the Hiss that takes control of peoples minds and turns them into basically monsters. They want to get out into the world and you have to stop them while finding your brother and bringing the directors management team back together. It's a brilliant game
I know it’s late in GMT, all the good programs are on BBC and ITV, and you get 5000 pings a day. But I just want to say good job. It is never easy having to give up a stable job for something as random as RUclips. From Brit to Brit, I congratulate you on making the progress you’ve made, seen as not many brits even get the silver award before their channel is closed. That is all. I hope you are well with that new virus spreading in the western parts. Oh, and don’t forget to do a SCP song. You did an advert for SCP: Blackout. I tried to DM that, but you block them.
Honestly the scientists (sorry I haven’t played this game so I don’t know the character 😬) section is amazing. The way you punctuate and create an almost educational mix of a rap, and a genuine conversation in that part is incredible. Just shows your insane acting skills.
GOD I LOVE IT. YOU MADE A SONG THAT MADE THE GAME JUSTICE Dan bull definitly lost Also, this makes me think.... How would it be a rap about the SCP foundation??
I'm gonna be honest, I found this channel after it was recommended to me by youtube from helping my little brother find a Minecraft DanBull Rap he wanted to show me. And god I wish I found this channel earlier. Every video I watch is unique in both visual, lyrics, and musically. Everything just has such a beyond professional feel and the lyrics flow so well but also you look at what is being said you start to realize the intellectual and clever word choice and wordings. And I find it fascinating that each song that is produced has a special stylized music that seems new. To say the least I'm always so surprised when I see low views at times and the sub count because it is highly under appreciated of how great content is from this channel.
Awh, jeez, thank you man! I'm really glad you're enjoying my work! My goal is always to try and make a song/video that is as true to the game as possible so I always try to adapt my sound and visuals to feel like they are an authentic extension of the source material. It really means a lot when folks appreciate it! Welcome to the channel! :)
I found The Stupendium when he released his Fact Rap Challenge Video in response to JT Music. Gotta love JT but I listen to The Stupendium way more now. His lyrics & arrangements have this incredible way of capturing my attention & imagination in a way that a lot of artists haven't. He'll always be one of my favorites.
Spoilers: there's one line here that has 3 meanings, and it may have only been aiming at two: "When Trenches have fallen to forces unknown". before playing, I saw it as when they've fallen. after starting, i saw it as trench's death, but by the end I finally saw that trench was the first to fall to the foreign invader
Now I don't know what "Control" is except a game, but please tell me "Altered World Events" is something in it, because something with the acronym of AWE is AWEsome.
I'm blown away by a vast myriad of things. The song, was incredible, but I don't see enough love or appreciation for your American accent, as the scientist. Maintaining an accent is hard enough, add to the fact that you are rapping, with a well articulated extensive vernacular. Genuinely impressed on many fronts. Thanks for the hard work.
I've listened to this song a bunch of times, despite never having heard of the game before (of course, the same could be said of most of his songs, as I haven't been playing many new games for a long time), and I'm also impressed by a lot of things about it. I also noticed the American accent was very good. One little piece of constructive criticism on it though: Ordinary, and Santuary. In both of these words, the Brits tend to pronounce almost ommiting the "a" sound entirely, but Americans put a lot more emphasis on the "a": Ordinary: BE: Ordinery or Ordin-ry AE: Or-din-airy Sanctuary: BE: Sank-chewery AE: Sank-chew-airy His American accent was really good, and you have to be a bit of a linguistic snob to even catch those (and I'm an American linguistic snob at that), but I figured the Stupendium will probably end up using an American accent again sometime in the future, so I figured it might be helpful. Very amazing song and video though. I had never heard of this game before, and now I want to go buy a TV, console, and game in order to play it!
This was such a freaking trip for me. In a D&D campaign I’m in, our DM’s pantheon has a horrifying evil dimensional god thing called the Hiss that seeps into people’s minds. Our characters ended up talking to a homeless man who was possessed by the Hiss. He said those things about reaching into the wet and truth cracking from an egg. I knew nothing about this game and listened to this song and was so SHOOK to hear those bizarre words repeated ANYWHERE. Nearly thought the Hiss was real and possessing me for a second.
@@mothcatcher893 the hiss is an extremely good concept. Damn, I could have used SCP to find interesting and bizzare DnD enemies for so many years. Also, what would happen if Hiss resonance got in contact with mindflayer?
I already mentioned in the discord, but this song is singlehandedly the reason I bought and played Control. And I LOVED it. Very quickly it's become my favorite game, and it's all thanks to this wonderful creation of yours. Having gotten now to listen with both no knowledge of the game, and again after having finished the main story, every double meaning and reference is just that much cooler. It was so good before, but now it just makes more sense and that just adds to it. "When Trenches have fallen to forces unknown" by far hits me the most, along with, "Until Ordinary's torn up, and normal defects." That second one is so overlooked, I think.
just remember that stupendium once called himself a wannabe wishing he was watsky or dan bull... now look at him he has songs that are arguably better than both and style that is most certainly better
I've listened to and watched this song so many times... and I only just noticed during the amazing "Obey the mighty bakelite" line and several following, the text doesn't remain the same colour, but shifts to be the opposite when overlayed over his black suit. Stupes, you never fail to surprise and awe!
As someone unfamiliar with the source game, this song is gloriously meta. The lyric "follow the director" sounds like a tv character becoming aware, and being told that they can't stray from a predetermined script. And the following line, "loading another slide in the projector", sounds like the show coming to an end and everything ceasing to exist until another episode comes out.
LYRICS:
At the edge of understanding, the border of the known
The breaking point of reason, where logic is dethroned
Where sense is defenceless and festers on the bone
You'll find entropy's offensive is rendered in the stone
As you roam through the oldest house
Home to all you weren't told about
Trapped within a labyrinth it goes without
Saying that we're praying that they don't get out
Prison for the isn't sitting hinged within a schism
Of half reflected architecture, dark unending prisms
Part objective, part conjecture partnered with tradition
Where the paperwork is worshipped and the rituals are written
When the black rock cracks and the firebreak ends
The Director is left as the line of defence
When the trenches have fallen to forces unknown
Perhaps you should answer the phone
If you can't place the pin
Where patterns end and you begin
Follow the Director
Else you're gonna slide into the void
But if the world you knew
Has cracked and fallen through
Go to the projector
Load another slide into the void
There's the strangest correlation observation will present
In the systems we can witness and the signals they have sent
The forces yet unknowable that ripple through cement
Inscrutable intrusions. Altered World Events.
Where reality cracks and impacts on the next
And dimensions fragment as the astral projects
On benign, undefined archetypal objects
Until Ordinary's torn up and normal defects
In effect, what you're left with are OoPs
Objects of power, a flying TV
A light that can hijack your mind as you see
A safe that's encased in a shield of debris
These frequencies are frequently the key to what's perceived to be
And vis-à-vis are feeding off the reaches of the mind
But recently the sequence has repeated and repeated
And it leaves me with the theory that they're trying to get inside
You hear our words but you forget
Push your fingers through the surface to the wet
We wait in the stains. We build you 'til nothing remains.
In the name of the sound of the name. (How do you say “insane”?)
Repeat the word. Repeat the word. Repeat the word.
Egg cracks and the truth will emerge
A copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy
You are home. You remind us. Happy. Hurt.
If you can't place the pin
Where patterns end and you begin
Follow the Director
Else you're gonna slide into the void
But should your world collapse
And fall right off the maps
Go to the projector
Load another slide into the voi
The Director is the Bureau's one connection to the Board
Obey the mighty Bakelite and file your reports
Telephony in effigy must never be ignored
So if you hear a ringing you had better pull the cord
And explore the decor of the OceanView
Where the doors only open for a chosen few
Check your logic at the desk, you won't need it to progress
A dream is just a test to be broken through
Like the smoke entombed in the rooms of the ashtray
Furniture fractals, the carpet cascades
Lost in a labyrinth of lounge chairs and lampshades
Wallpaper warps into infinite pathways
There's no limit to the dangers of phenomenon we keep
Or the chaos that would reign should the panopticon be breached
This never ending edifice is perched upon the precipice
Since we let in the resonance the future's under siege
If you can't place the pin
Where patterns end and you begin
Follow the Director
Else you're gonna slide into the void
But if you see the seams
Where motels meld with dreams
Go to the projector
Load another slide into the void
I've analysed the data, I've catalogued the signs
Run every simulation, every sample I can find
I would give an explanation but we haven't got the time
We're drowning in the waveforms and our minds are in the tide
Of elegant malevolence sequestered in the resonance
Nesting in the head of every denizen
Tell me, is it heaven-sent? Is the devil even relevant?
When questioning the presence of dimensional intelligence
Thresholds unfold as a door that knocks
In the ticking, in the ticking, in the ticking of the clocks
We are holding the key we just don't see the locks
Paradise and parasite in parallel, in paradox
We stand on a mantle where matter divides
To abstractive fractures that tangle and writhe
Through cracks in reality trapped in a slide
Such intangible sanctuary Hedron provides
(You are a worm through time
You've always been the new you
The hole in your room is a hole in you
The picture is you, holding the picture)
Breaking the first the second, the third, the fourth wall
Fifth wall, no floor, you fall
Earworm humming in a dream
Baby, baby, baby yeah. Just plastic.
You want to listen.
You want to dream.
You want to smile.
You want to hurt.
You don’t want to be.
You want to listen.
You want to dream.
You want to smile.
You want to hurt.
You don’t want to be.
If you can't place the pin
Where patterns end and you begin
Follow the Director
Else you're gonna slide into the void
But should your towers fall
Free your mind and heed the call
Go to the projector
Load another slide into the void

It's so obvious this was written by someone who has not only played the shit out of Control, but really thought very deeply about its themes and implications. The decision to use bits of the Hiss chant in the rap was a particularly canny one, as the chant was not only already pretty close to rhyming and pleasing to say (as Dylan himself points out), but already seemed to be referring to events in-universe.

Yep.... 🙂
@@girlpower1925 woman☕️
That's basically what the Tennyson Report is complaining about.
Rabbit hole for ya. The rituals are the only constant which is why the paperwork is worshipped because it holds the only anchor holding it together.

I think the limit is the 80s, and a lot of firearm designs really don’t change much over time.

As much as I L-O-V-E-D Dan's, this one really does beat it. Which is saying a ton.
English is my second language, so I don't get the pun. Why this is a pun?

Your character, before the start of the game, along with her brother, found an OoP in the shape of a projector. That projector also could open other dimenisons, where some nasty shit exits and the protagonist and her brother come across a malevolent entety that helps the clean up their mess, before FBC discovers the projector, taking it and the protagonists brother. Back to the game's present, the Oldest House is attacked by the Hiss, a weird, semi-cohesive hivemind that repeatedly tries to infiltrate the astral plane ( which, I forgot to say, Is a giant, upside-down, black pyramid that spews nonsence only the director can understand). You, as the new director, are tasked with repelling the Hiss, which uses the "infected" personell as it's weapon. So I'm an indie prop and set designer and part time director. I am constantly impressed by the production value of every one of these songs, matched with the frankly masterful wordsmithery these videos are inspirationaly good. Since "Find the Keys" I have anticipated every release and have only been disappointed once, not because the song was bad but because it was only above average instead of the consistently great that you have proven yourself to be. Please keep it up.
Thank you!
But I gotta ask... Which one was the disappointment? ;)
@@TheStupendium I have the be honest, No Waves like home. There is just something about it that didn't capture me like all the others. If 5 is perfectly average id say this is 5.5 maybe a 6. The video is great, the green screen compositing is well hidden with the sea green/blue coloring from the lights. Which the lights are great they add a huge layer that I feel others forget about, even the reflection of the studio lights in your glasses don't stay long enough to detract, in fact i think it adds the the luminescent glow you were going for, and the sea weed reflection love it. But the song itself just doesn't get me. I think its the combination of lyrics and the beat, something about it just doesn't meld. At least to me, I'm not faulting anyone for liking.
@@TheStupendium Listening to it again, its the lyrics, they just don't feel as sharp as others. You are incredibly witty, satiric, your word play is on point I feel accurate calling you a wordsmith. But it just doesn't show in "No Waves Like Home" at least not to me, I might be an idiot here and not catching them.
@@TheStupendium With that context I can see it now. That's impressive and brave, and although doesn't change my feelings on the song I can understand. @@user-lt5ck2ne4d As often in this song (and in the game, really), both are true. While Ordinary is a location where an A.W.E. happened, the whole concept of an Altered Wold Event is that supernatural events happen, usually through an banal object such as a floppy disk, a slide projector or a phone, and the mundane capacities of the object are utterly broken so it is not ordinary any more (A red phone becomes a way to contact other dimensions, a legendary weapon now shifts shape to be what the user is best accustomed to, an ash tray with a labyrinth pattern can create mazes, ...)

"The trenches have fallen for reasons unknown"
That right there is the most camouflaged spoiler for the entire game I've ever seen.
its actually the first thing that you see in the building.

It's not often I feel a need to go back five seconds in a song to immediately re-listen & experience well-crafted lyricism all over again - before I'm even done listening through it the first time, mind you - but it happens quite frequently with your work. In both of these words, the Brits tend to pronounce almost ommiting the "a" sound entirely, but Americans put a lot more emphasis on the "a":

His American accent was really good, and you have to be a bit of a linguistic snob to even catch those (and I'm an American linguistic snob at that), but I figured the Stupendium will probably end up using an American accent again sometime in the future, so I figured it might be helpful. Very amazing song and video though. I had never heard of this game before, and now I want to go buy a TV, console, and game in order to play it!
Agreed! Stupes is a legend.
4:57 That fluctuating synthesizer (I think it's a synthesizer) makes me feel emotions that don't even exist.... yet
Putting up those papers during the scientist part.... You went all the way on this song
3:14 You never fail to impress with the visuals, this is insane! You and cami did amazing work with this song!
Thank you so so much for the recommendation and support~!! 8'D
Stupendium listening to the disembodied voices in the game: *Damn this is jamming*

Sounds like your DM is a fan of this game, lol
@@Dirtyblue929 plot twist: the campaign was 40 years ago. :P
Alexander Azarov, not as a terrifying of a plot twist, the DM is the Concept Designer for this game
Glad to know I'm not the only one that (partly) reuses other concepts in rps
@@mothcatcher893 the hiss is an extremely good concept.
Damn, I could have used SCP to find interesting and bizzare DnD enemies for so many years.
Also, what would happen if Hiss resonance got in contact with mindflayer?
this song just proves my point of that you should do an SCP song
The first ever 7 week long song
Please do
YES.
@@thesandman1385 a DF fan I see....
@@doublem1354 7 weeks? are you sure about that? the song will be 11 millennia long
I already mentioned in the discord, but this song is singlehandedly the reason I bought and played Control.
< Incredible / Amazing. Finally discovered / found. Music / Song is a Masterpiece. You are Authority/Chosen One >
*Bwahahahaha!* I didn't even look at your name before realizing its The Board speaking to the Director
I liked your style
just remember that stupendium once called himself a wannabe wishing he was watsky or dan bull... now look at him he has songs that are arguably better than both and style that is most certainly better
Dont let Bull see this. That would be never ending war
@@redman7775 bull saw this see above bulls actual response they made a video the same day on Control !
Arguably? LMAOOOOOOO
I've listened to Dan Bull. He's good. Stupendium, however, is something truly rare and special.
@@Mark73 both of them together usually are brilliant
"Like the smoke entombed in the rooms of the ash tray" is so perfect for this
I've listened to and watched this song so many times... and I only just noticed during the amazing "Obey the mighty bakelite" line and several following, the text doesn't remain the same colour, but shifts to be the opposite when overlayed over his black suit. Stupes, you never fail to surprise and awe!
As someone unfamiliar with the source game, this song is gloriously meta. The lyric "follow the director" sounds like a tv character becoming aware, and being told that they can't stray from a predetermined script.
And the following line, "loading another slide in the projector", sounds like the show coming to an end and everything ceasing to exist until another episode comes out.
you likely won't see this but
I have to say- you're such a genius with lyrics and rhymes in every song you make
I applaud you good sir
