Before The Hunter's uprising in "Bleeding Sun" or her lonely cry for death in "Requiem for the Hunter", she ponders her place at the end of the world among the most violent times history had seen. Red Water Dreams is her mourning tribute to the fallen innocents of her city, as well as an oath that she will, one day, hunt those responsible.
Godhunter releases next week on January 25th, with this song and many more spin-offs involving The Hunter and other heroes of previous albums!

Lyrics:
Take me to the water
Where the river meets the sea
Let the memory of rising tide
Come washing over me
I saw fire consume the trusting
With the victims still naive
And so they bleed
And so they bleed
Take me to the tower
Where false gods reside in peace
Let them wither from the inside
Watch their adoration cease
Now with no more heroes left
To cull the chaff among the streets
The gates release
The gates release
Sing in grief, a requiem
The curse of our millennium
These souls keep whispering from the river beds
The end to all these violent means
Alive in these red water dreams
Their haunted burdens stirring in my head
On streets still running red
Vicious thoughts are stirring
And I hunger for their power
Just to taste the opportunity
To watch the elders cower
When the waters fall below the ruins
They'll see their final hour
But rain still showers
The rain still showers
Take me as the vessel
To infect the whole charade
I've come much too far to accept
This society they've made
In the corner of the wasteland
Under storms of acid rain
The last remain
The last remain
Most went in the flood
A few were martyred by the flames
Yet those who unleashed the waters
Are still guilty all the same
When the ignorance of puppets
Serves the master's larger game
They let it rain
They let it rain
When I gain the chance to rise
I'll find the light in their cold eyes
Or lose myself and carry out revenge
The righteous hunt has just begun
The dimming of the bleeding sun
Will let these waters run clear once again
Now THIS is good material for a DnD campaign
You'll be happy to know I'm in a game based almost entirely around his songs
@@abbyj8915 I wanna know how that goes and I hope it's as epic as these songs are
@@TheEpicGenesis We just passed our one year anniversary of the game, and The Watcher is a God, the Bleeding Sun just had an anarchist uprising we had to save people from, and we're about to launch ourselves headfirst into a god war to end all wars. I'd say Aviators would be proud. As a matter of fact, our DM just put this song as our next lil piece of lore to crack in the context of the game, hence why I'm here to relisten for clues!
@@abbyj8915 Well firstly congrats on having the campaign going for so long, that's really awesome! I have no idea how your DM managed to set up the world in such a way to fit the song's lore but it sounds like they did a phenomenal job! What characters are you playing and have other clues or songs been used throughout? Ahh I wanna know all the things. This is one of my favorite of Aviators' songs personally so that's exciting as well.
@@TheEpicGenesis I'm almost embarassed to say I am woefully uneducated on Aviators lore- it's the DM's favourite band, so he's been the one to make it all work. But we're all getting super invested because he's hinted that this song fits several of our characters in different ways, including but not limited to a trainee/new God, an eldritch-wielder hellbent on painting a new world, someone who died 15 years ago and is now in the present day, someone from 1968 Russia (the game is set in 2200), a werewolf with a blood addiction, and a member of a tribe from a teleporting planet.
I'm just waiting for the day your songs get put on the radio. I wish I could just be driving one day and I hear this beauty. Please let it happen
If I was driving through the rain and "Red Water Dreams" started playing on the radio, i would start sobbing profusely.
This song reminds me of a quote about Dark Souls I saw once:
"The world is against me. It wouldn't be fair otherwise."
God, I love this song.
Edit: Added reference for quote.
@Wowmantrav this song doesn’t say that
@@angelmarques3124 Correct, it's just a quote that I was reminded of from hearing this song. I realize now I should have said that in the first place.
Lol, you actually edited it! Hahaha xD
Didn’t expect it to be from Dark Souls. I guess it’s lore? What game?
@@angelmarques3124 Pretty sure I saw it for DS3, but I think it could be for any of the Soulsborne games; it applies to all of them.
@@angelmarques3124 it's not FROM dark souls, it's ABOUT dark souls
So this song, as well as Requiem for the Hunter and Bleeding Sun, is about the character known as The Hunter. And Avi said that God Hunter will include stories about "other heroes from different albums"...
I am super excited
And I rally hope that there is a song about, who I think, is the most mysterious character Avi has created: The Watcher from the album Oceans to Skies
Yes, the Watcher and the Rogue (the woman on the From Oceans to Skies cover) are both characters in this story and they're also portrayed on the album cover for Godhunter, together with the Hunter and the Traveler (from Let There Be Fire).
@@HenningsEdits okay now im reealllllly excited!!
@@sillygoose_8635 Me too! Oh, I should also point out that there IS indeed a song from the perspective of the Watcher on this album called "A Castle on the Sea".
The title is a reference to the line from The Far Side "Have you seen the Watcher's castle born of ice?".
Only 3 days to go!
@@HenningsEdits Castle on the Sea huh? Do you think that When Our Bodies Wash Ashore could also be about the Watcher since it involves the ocean and death which seems to be common themes for Watcher
This is already one of my favorite songs of all time
The same here. As always, Aviators' music embraces me in the bittersweet feeling which has no equal. Oh dear Agony, once again I'm with you, I am home.
@@TheTurtlePenguin Can you tell me where is the agony reference from?
@@nazy5187 I wrote a poem a while back ago, and the poem is devoted to Pain, her daughter Agony, and her granddaughter Desperation. The three women are personifications of the respective feelings, and depict how these emotion give birth to one another. I guess others might have used the same kind of analogy, but I did not conciously take the idea anywhere.. so I'd say it originates in this case from my own feelings and my expression of them.
oh yeah? im gonna write a book about the feelings theyre talking about. its called a COMIC BOOK FAN FICTION.
I feel the same way.
Somebody has to make a book or Fanfiction out of your songs, maybe even a movie series like the MCU.
Totally agree with this lad right here
Now I'm hyped >:[
You know, in a medieval fanstasy (d&d-like setting) novel I am writing the "Bleeding Sun" is an existing thing, it has an entire order devoted to it and one Keeper of the Bleeding Sun, so... yeah, like 5 years later, best-selling book of all time. Watch me xD

Aviators needs world wide fame. He is a GOD
And godhunter's gonna hunt him down.
Chill out, his mastering and musical ability have certainly increased without doubt in this album (from what we can see), but he still has ground to cover and area for improvement.
Love all of your work Avi ^.^ keep the Awesome jamz coming!!

For as long as I've been tied to this channel, Aviators has always amazed me with each piece he relases. I can't wait to hear more, thank you again for adding another masterpiece to your wonders of history.
This song fits the series Altered Carbon perfectly.
Water, blood, immortality, power, violence, guilt.
I enjoy the stories you tell with your music.
You are truly a proper bard of modern times, Avi.
Your works are so beautiful...

i made a list of them but ima be honest past a point i cant tell if im still finding them or if ive gone mad, the fact its 4 am isnt helping.

"In the corner of the wasteland" - welcome to paradise?
The lines about the rising waters, colored red by the blood of the victims that died in the flood (also referenced by the title of the song itself) are themes and lore that can also be found in Bleeding Sun, Fantasy, Holy Ground (The Ascended), I Don't Want To Hurt You and No More Heroes.
I kinda feel Warframe from this. When the Tenno slaughtered the orokin leadership.
Does anyone else need a tour.... Aviators needs a live tour. Your music is freaking awesome. I said you always outdo yourself with each song when Incandescent came out. It still holds true.
I was just listening to this song on Spotify and couldn't help myself but go here on RUclips and comment how absolutely mesmerizing I find this music. Thanks for all your hard work you put into your music.
(the fact that I have to write my master's thesis has nothing in common with this, I swear)
Howd the last minute thesis writing go?
hope you did good on that thesis, you make a pretty solid one right here in this comment!
Been a while but I'd like to know how your thesis went
Love the shoegaze (or "stargaze") vibe of the first two minutes. Really nice, atmospheric blend of acoustic and synthetic sounds.
Also... *clenches fist* That sweet album lore! SO ready for next friday.
Stargaze is officially now avi's genre
I forgot I was watching a history video at1.25 speed before I put this on the first time and the first part actually sounded earrapey. It's astounding how big the difference is.
Dammit we will never have enough of Aviators
People are not yet into this music, it's timeless music, but their time will come very soon. Aviators gonna head to the top of bests.
This song almost perfectly fits in with a series of homebrew D&D campaigns that our 8 person group have gone through,
and with one character in particular forwarding technological progress and forsaking the gods, and eventually going on to wage
an interplanetary war with the armies of those gods and their avatars.
Thus proving not only that they were greedy, lying, cowards, but that the rules they're supposed to exist by are also broken by them regularly.
This current campaign is set in the aftermath of that great war, and explores D&D without the presence of the gods or planes.
Definitely adding this to one of the playlists I've made, wonderful work
Just the opening of this song gave me chills...brilliant! By the way, would you consider doing a song for Darkest Dungeon on this album or maybe some other lovecraftian themed one about people attempting to stop an Eldritch God from achieving of their end game? Either way, have a great day and thanks for the wonderful song.
Well the legend of the hunter is literally about a human who was cursed with immortality going on a blood path of revenge to kill Eldritch Gods and the Evil they spawn. So you are already listening to something like that. This is the sort of song I'd expect to hear too when it came to a legend of a hero watching those she wishes so desperately to save still dying as she struggles to make it to the top of that evil tower, desperate for revenge and to save those still screaming and wallowing in pain and rivers of blood down below. A song fitting of such a struggle.
This song helped me through my terrible summer job one year ago. I love listening to it during the summer!
”Help, O Lord, for the godly are fast disappearing! The faithful have vanished from the earth! Neighbors lie to each other, speaking with flattering lips and deceitful hearts. May the Lord cut off their flattering lips and silence their boastful tongues. They say, “We will lie to our hearts’ content. Our lips are our own-who can stop us?” The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.””
Psalms 12:1-5
This is really awesome. I had liked some of your other songs for the sound or for the stories they told, but this set really impresses me. Not only does it sound really haunting and powerful, but it's actually for a complicated and long-running _original_ story you've composed for these albums. That's just cool.
I am just speechless. Every single time i think "This is it, this is the best" and every single time i am proven wrong. I can NOT believe how you are always one-upping yourself. Continue the beautiful work, i will be looking forward to it
This was so beautiful

I'm so happy this song is out! It's insanely good, and a great teaser for what can be expected for the rest of the album. So excited for its release!
you just keep churning out amazing songs, goddamn.
I expected this to be a slower piece more akin to WOBWA, describing the sensation of the red river with the sound of flowing water omnipresent in the background. I was evidently wrong on that front, and i've never been more glad to be. This was great!
Aviators is one of the best bands I've ever heard and they tell such interesting story's with there music
Its eerie how this also applies to the story and lore of Warframe :o
A new song from Aviators? Oh my GOD I needed this.
Once again, you never cease to impress.
Less than a week to go before Godhunter comes out! I can't wait. Since this came out on Bandcamp with the pre-order of the album, I've heard it somewhere around 100 times. I love this song. It has such a nice melody to it, and the chorus is, to put it simply, amazing. I love the shift in tone between it and the verses, and I love the range of it. I think that if the other songs keep up with this (and the other two releases have been amazing to me, too), then we're in for a real treat with this release. I can't wait to see you on the release stream in 6 days, and I can't wait to hear the rest of these amazing songs. As always, I hope you have a wonderful day, and I hope you keep making music for time to come. I believe that, one day, you will reach the level of fame that you deserve. Because, in my opinion, it is much greater than this. :)
Woooo! I'm glad this is on RUclips; Bandcamp blocked me from listening to the song anymore because I listened to it too many times.
My favorite band with another amazing song.
At the end of all things the hero knew this was a one-way trip. With all the pieces in play now is the time to strike. With the heroes of the people struck down by betrayal during the middle of the night by fire and flame, the people lost all hope. But then came sunrise. When the enforcers flooded the streets and took all of the elders to be executed in the river, that hopelessness was transformed into rage. The people rioted, they rebelled. They threw their bodies upon the cogs of the machine as the blood soaked streets of the city were continuously sprayed with the crimson of Martyrs from the scaffolding above. And in that chaos The shield that was protecting both the city from the bleeding Sun and the ascended from the god hunters wrath, came crashing down. And with it came the power source for the ziggurat's anti air turrets. She placed her right hand on the acceleration control of the gunship they so aptly named "The Reckoning", and looked back to her compatriots.
"Are you ready for this?" she asked.
"I am.." the monk replied.
"As ready as anyone will ever be on a suicide mission" joked the archer as she tied up her hair in a low ponytail.
"Then let this be the last flight of the stargazers.." said the immortal angel's child that's the gunship accelerated forward and gained elevation.
She smiled inwardly as they all quickly came to realize that not every anti-air turret was powered down. It wasn't too long before one of the rare engines was struck and operating below 50% efficiency. But it didn't matter. Because they all knew that if humanity was to survive they would have to reach the garage. Even if they had to ram the Reckoning straight to the front door.
Don't know what it is about this one, but I was willing to listen to it on repeat right from the first time I heard it.
Anyone else get the vibe this would be a song to play racing down a dark straight highway at night?
