Only if you are a real AR nerd and appreciate both the small engineering improvements in the gun (rounded bolt lugs, gas system, etc) and the lore of KAC and Eugene stoner.
Knights Armament is awesome. Love all their firearms, suppressors, & accessories. I just wish they were more attainable. I’m not saying for them to flood the market but maybe do what LMT does. LMT puts out enough products to where if you want a rifle you can more than likely find one. You can even find LMT parts. Yeah some things may be harder to come by but LMT is still obtainable. Knights is the complete opposite. I just don’t understand why they’re so hard to get. Like where’s everything going? Are they selling to only certain distributors? Idk 🤷♂️. Maybe one day we’ll be able to purchase from Knights Armament like any other place of business we deal with.
I've had my SR-15s and SR-25s for a few years now. They are great, never had issues with them, and I've never regretted my purchases. However, I'm also not delusional enough to think they are the greatest rifles to ever exist. If we wanna talk about KAC years ago when the options for super reliable rifles was smaller, than sure, you can make the "best of all time" argument. But it's 2025 good, reliable, easily acquirable, and equally priced if not better priced rifles exist everywhere. From high end AR's like the Quantum DTL or ARX-Light Fighter or mid priced rifles Like the BCM RECCE line or the Geissele Super Duty mod 1. Unless you're buying some hunk of trash being sold out of a guy's car in some random street corner, you can pretty much buy anything and have excellent reliability and durability. Not to mention the plethora of drop in parts that make your rifles better. I think KAC owners spent so much time and money getting these rifles, that they have to convince themselves it's the best, cause if they don't the reality sets in that they just bought a rifle for the name. Don't get me wrong, i've been guilty of that mentality too. But the reality is the same way bad ar15s are a dime a dozen, so are good ar15s nowadays. That's just my 2 cents tho. If you really want a SR-15 or any other KAC rifle, go for it, you definitely won't regret your purchase. Just don't have such unrealistic expectations as to what you're actually getting
I think I what people expect when they buy a HK, Sig, FN, LMT, KAC, LWRCI they expect to become Chris Kyle and that the rifle will all of a sudden auto aim assist and they look like John wick. That’s just not the case. Are the top end ar15s worth it yes absolutely. But the questions is budget is number one and two is how often you are shooting. If you don’t shoot often then a $2500 rifle or more doesn’t make sense to purchase because you won’t be using it enough to justify the cost. If you do shoot often then anything over that $2500 mark is definitely worth your money. I will say I don’t thinK BCM or GEISSELe are on par with the upper echelon of rifles however for the money and what you get I think they are more than enough for 98% of people.
@ Idk about the shooting aspect. I have a lot of guns in my collection that i own just cause they’re cool or i like the brand. I feel like you don’t have to shoot a lot for an expensive firearm to be worth it. Something being worth it is very subjective
@ thats where you are wrong. Because you are a collector of firearms which is fine and you don’t shoot often which is also fine. However the people that complain about KAC are basing it off the price to quality and does it “shoot better than cheaper rifles”. The only way to truly know the worth of a rifle in the context of durability, reliability, accuracy, etc is to test it through use. Heavy use. Then you can draw your own conclusions as to what suits your needs best. If you are a collector of weapons then you already love guns and for you every gun your purchase means something to you and you have a special place for it. So there is no need to convince you or try to get your opinion because you are purchasing for more of looking rather than heavy use.

You shoulda painted it for him while you had it....
Meh
Narrator is is corny!
