I have been doing Ontario parks trip for only a few years now and I just found your page! I'm going to binge watch all these seasons, so nice local folks are exploring as many parks as I want to as well! These videos are adorable, keep it up!
Thanks so much. If you start from season 1, I hope you'll see the progression in quality and substance. We're starting to redo some of the parks from season 1 and 2 because we want to update them and give more info about them.
Went there in 1979 and it was like camping on farm land. Boy has it changed.
We just learned of Point Farms in 2019 and couldn't believe that we didn't know about it before. It's a regular for us now. Sure doesn't feel like camping on farm land now.
We were there a few weeks ago. We really liked it. There were some great sunsets. Our site wasn't very level and hard to back our camper on but it was very private. The town of Goderich is only 10 minutes away which was nice. There was a great place down the road with lots of flavors of soft ice cream. We would definitely go back.
Awesome video Point Farms is a great park and only about 30 minutes from where we live.
Just Starting to watch all the episodes after being introduced by a few of the newer ones. This is fantastic and my family will be beginning our adventure this year and thanks to your videos we're going to have a blast, Ty!
Glad you found us. We're listening to our viewers and trying incorporate more of what they want to see. You'll notice our reviews changed, hopefully for the better with each season. We hope you find them helpful to find you're next camping adventure!
The water levels are very high this year, highest ever if I'm not wrong? The beach was completely gone when I was there recently! What comes right up to the steps at one of the points. Great video
Getting some ideas for this season as to where to go :). Thanks for being my first go-to channel! BTW - Point Farms is great in September to pick apples, since the ravine trail used to be the old apple orchard.
Thanks for the Point Farms info. We never knew that. We glad you find our videos useful when researching places to go. We hope to be the go-to place for people when doing their research on places to camp in Ontario.
I clicked the like button before the first minute of the video
Hahahaha that's funny. I had to watch this video over again as it's the first one we did. Wow, we've come along way since then.
You started at a very high level you must admit the editing and every single detail You are definitely one of my resourcesfrom now on. I live in Waterloo and have found your videos very recently. I will watch the videos of the places I’ve already camped in and see what I missed haha
Thank you for the ratings and detailed coverage to the nice gestures like popcorn bags and smarties sharing with other campers also camping etiquettes 👌🏼I even thought of translating your videos, but it must be done appropriately etiquettes and copyrights and licensing and all that I have no idea whatsoever but one day might ask you for that
If you want to watch any of our videos with subtitles in a different language you can do that on RUclips. There are more than 100 languages to choose from. Here's how to do it. At the bottom of the video click on CC which means Closed Captions. It will then show closed captions in English or French on the video. Then click on the settings icon at the bottom of the video screen and click on "Subtitles/CC". At the top of the new window that opens you can choose one of the languages that it shows or you can click on Auto-translate. Then you can pick any of the more than 100 languages to translate the captions. The captions at the bottom of the video will then be in whatever language you choose. Here is a video that shows how to do it ruclips.net/video/GB3cG3uITSI/видео.html
Thanks for the reviews. Am now going through to watch them all. We really enjoyed Point Farms, and exploring Goderich. How did you get ariel shots of you driving?
Thanks for your support. The aerial shots while driving were tricky. That was my first time trying it. Cheryl drove and I flew the drone from the passenger seat. It was stressful as I lost connection with the drone and though it would automatically return to where I was with the control but instead it returned to where it took off from. So for about 5 minutes it was hovering 3 feet off the ground about 2 feet from the side of the road on the shoulder while I frantically searched the sky for it. When I recovered it and watched the footage I saw cars doing 100 km/h past it causing the drone to shake in the wake of the cars wind. Since then, what I do is pull over and stand well off the road and have Cheryl drive by while I control the drone and film. It's much safer. The drone footage from the beach from a few years earlier was done with the permission of park staff before the drone restrictions got so strict. I haven't been able to fly a drone in a provincial park for a few years now.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks for that. The end results are very impressive. I am just going thorugh watching season 1 now and the ariel of Inverhuron shoreline is amazing.
@@michellepodnar1452 I like when the property line between the park and public property is very close to the good parts of the park. I take off and land the drone from public property to keep it legal. I also did that a Mara Provincial Park and Charleston Lake Provincial Park.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thanks. Will check them out also. On the Arrowhead one now! LOL
Great video! Appreciate your review! My girlfriend and I are heading to point farms on June 15th for a few nights!
That's a great little park. You're going to love it. Happy camping!
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Russell Martin Instablaster ;)
@Huxley Lian I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out now.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Huxley Lian it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
Your very lucky that you were there early in the year , normally it’s busy and noisy at Point Farms. But good if your okay with that.
We're usually there in May or October so it's pretty quiet. One time in July though I had to walk into a guys tent at 11:30pm to turn off his portable stereo that was blasting classic rock across the entire park while he was passed out drunk.
Beware of Falls reserve conservation area near Benmiller (Goderich). We went camping there many years ago .We were in a canvas trailer the teenagers were partying had a very tall fire going and kept putting gas on it. There was no security around , so I didn’t sleep that night ,we left very early the next morning . The conservation area in Durham is very nice and a good place for your water sports.
Hi Guys, we are heading to point farms this week with our Great Pyrenees dog. Wondering if the dog beach is on leash or off leash.
It's an on leash dog beach. The dog beach is on a point. If you stick to the side where the person beach is the bottom is nice and sandy. If you go around the point it's very rocky.
@@CampingwiththeColes Thank you
Any biking or multi-use trails?
There area a couple of trails you can bike on. We have a more updated review of this park here ruclips.net/video/h_bzkHFebu0/видео.html, it may answer your questions.
@@CampingwiththeColes thank you
❤❤❤how different groupcamping site from single sites ? Prices and booking pros and cons?
If you have a few families that want to camp together, then getting a group site is awesome. You pay a base rate then additional cost per person. If you have a 4 or 5 families it's often cheaper than 4 or 5 campsites. Also, they are usually away from the rest of the campground so you don't have to worry about being too loud or your kids running around bothering other people.
