Just came home from Sibbald East Campground today. Cell service with Fido (Rogers) was non existent most of the time. Sometimes it would reappear but most of the time didn't work even when it said 4G service
As a new camper, I'm looking forward to the camping etiquette video! We were actually at Grundy Lake Provincial Park over the Canada day weekend and filmed our time there. We go to Sibbald next so this video was very helpful. 😊
We like your review of Grundy. It's our kinda park. We hope Sibbald Point is a lot less busy when you're there. It could be a really nice park if it wasn't over run by day use people.
Another great review guys. We've gone there in October and loved it. The crowds on Canada Day weekend would be a little much I think. Glad you found your lost wallet!
We are currently at Sibbald, staying Monday thru Thursday. Park is lovely, quite a few people at the beach but definitely manageable. We have Rogers for cell service and it works pretty good, but when it stops it stops! But then it comes back up again, it's fast and reliable, when you connect. Our campsite had good cell service (533).
We just booked Sibbald Point based on this video. We also took your advice on mid week booking and will make sure to fill up at the in park comfort station. Have fun at Grundy Lake, we just got back from there and enjoyed the park. Say Hi to the bear for us, he visited our neighbours site. Looking forward to the Lake Superior series of reviews. There are quite a few places we want to visit, especially Sleeping Giant. Cheers!
This is one of the best vedios i have seen about the Sibbald point . i have been going there for a couple of years . but i have never seen so much in real as in ur vedios you have very well show literally every nook and corner of Sibbald Point .. thanks for this detailed info and your opinions . keep up the good work .. and best wishes to both of you .
Love you guys , just came across your awesome videos. I am just starting out bought a 2022 forest river grey wolf 25Ft and havent gone out yet Its me and my 2 dogs as my wife has since passed 6 yrs ago. I just need to be in nature as much as possible and meet like minded people. And trying to figure out where to go first was tough and the I found you which was very helpful , so I booked 1 night just to get my feet wet at Earl Rowe which is close to home , I am in Caledon East. And am so grateful to come across you helps a lot.
We're so glad we could be of some help to you. Sounds like you're starting off on the right foot by going to a close park for a short trip to iron out the bugs. Over time you'll go further away for longer stays and you'll be loving it just like we do. Good luck and happy camping.
I’m so glad you did this review. I had discounted this park due to its proximity to TO and reputation. It looks lovely. As you said, for weekdays or shoulder season. I know your on your trip now. Safe travels and hope to run into you.
Was at this park last weekend. Could not believe how busy the beach was. I did barely find a spot to park as I had arrived well before my 2pm reservation and people were still on the site. Despite all the people I was able to put my new SUP in at the dog beach off to the side where there wasn't any crowding. First time paddle boarding had a blast. The campground was actually pretty nice and I put miles on my e-bike exploring around.
It was great meeting you guys on Thursday I hope you guys had a great time and I totally agree with you the beach is absolutely crazy on a long weekends and weekends it's way too busy can't wait to see your next video
I have been enjoying your reviews since hearing Ben on CBC radio one morning. I have gone back and watched all of the seasons. I love it when you ride your bikes through the campgrounds and I can see all the campsites…always keep my eye out for a Taylor Coach.(we have one). We are booked into Superior Provincial park in mid August and staying overnight at Chutes on the way back. Thanks for sharing all the parks with us….and safe travels…..
We're currently at Lake Superior PP on the Agawa Bay campground. It's unbelievably beautiful here. You'll love it in August when the bugs have settled down. Well be going to Chutes in a couple weeks.
Hey Mrs Cole!! It was awesome meeting you at Sibbald! My wife and I have followed and love your videos! Thanks for the Magnet!! Btw, Sibbald is this busy almost every weekend in the summer! It's a great park (just needs another dump station!!)
Great review Ben and Cheryl. We just missed you! We left Sibbald Point on the Tuesday and you arrived on the Thursday. One of these days we will run into you and have a few beers around the fire at the campsite. We discovered this park last year and learned quickly when and when not to go here. Lol. It is a very nice park. Can you believe there is only one dump station? I wish I could have told you about all the extra water fill ups. They do need a separate line entering the park for the campers though. Anyways, keep those great videos coming. No one does a better job reviewing Ontario Parks! Dave and Denise
Great review as always. Thank you for all you do. Every season you get better and better. My wife and I were at sibbald last October and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It's a beautiful park. Can't wait to see your adventures around lake superior. We just got back from our superior trip and it was incredible. Sleeping Giant, Pancake Bay and Chutes. We made it to the top of the giant and it was spectacular! Next we're going to murphys point. You both gave it a great review so we're looking forward to it. Thank you again we are big fans.
We're at Grundy right now and it's amazing. Looking forward to the Lake Superior Parks. We loved Murphy's Point because it's a nice small park with small park atmosphere. We enjoy learning things about Parks and the mica mine tour is a must do at Murphy's Point. Be sure to register for it at the desk when you pull in.
@@CampingwiththeColes we are heading to Pancake bay this summer, our first time. I am looking to see if you guys have been there. We just came back from Sauble Falls the past week. LOVED IT THERE.
We are at the park and agree it is a busy spot even though it is not a long weekend. Now we did find out about the fill stations at the gate so it saved us a lot of time coming in and setting up
Watched this informative video partly on TV, partly on desktop. Found it informative! This park is not high on my bucket list. I mean this park is not comparable to the beauty, diversity of activities, and natural complexity at Grundy Lake, Killarney, Arrowhead, and Awenda. We visited Grundy Lake, Killarney, Killbear, and Bronte Creek in early June and there were no crowds. I will be looking forward to your Grundy Lake ratings. Killarney, of course, is on another level. Just the linear hiking and biking trail of over 15 km long was a challenge. Thanks for the video. I know it is a product of so much passion, time, and hours of work.
We agree completely. It's not a "must do" kind of park. We're visiting those kinds of parks now. Currently at Grundy Lake and finally a great park to rave about.
The big knock on Sibbald is how busy it gets, which is why we generally prefer to spend our vacation time at other parks. I appreciate how you were able to review the park itself as opposed to the busy atmosphere that it would have had on a long weekend. The park itself is nice and has a lot to offer. I've enjoyed going there in the fall when it's not busy at all.
Yeah, being so busy is definitely not our thing. We've finally headed to our happy place and going north where it's less busy. Looking forward to what the rest of the summer has in store for us.
Thanks for a great review. Quick question, did you say that the other comfort stations also had the threaded water fill connections? My trailer doesn't have a open port to fill as you did in the video. JS
I just had a look back at the original footage and I see that none of the water fill stations are threaded. Almost every water tap throughout the park is threaded so if you really needed to you could probably use one of those to fill up. Strange that your trailer doesn't have an open port. I've never seen that. They usually have the threaded port labeled "city water" where you hook up for when you have water hook up at the site and then an open hole for the fresh water tank.
Great review! I agree that Sibbald Point is a busy campground during the season. I was there twice last year. Once as a stop over on the Canada Day weekend. Stayed in the West Campground. Had pretty cell service with Fido, while my cousin had very limited with Bell. We were behind the comfort station (don’t recall the site # - pull thru). I agree with Cheryl, too many people at the day use area, plus last year the park was limiting the # of people entering. I still felt it was too many. The 2nd time was as a base camp to visit my niece & sister-in-law in Bolton. Stayed in the East Campground. It was a rainy weekend. A lot of mud & water. I do intend to go back for a ‘real’ camping experience, however it will be on the shoulder season. Take care! Catching up on your videos from the beginning of season 4!
Awesome review as always!! We don't camp on Canada Lo g weekend either because of the crowds too 😊 We had battery issue too last year turned out it was the alternator.
