- In this video I am sharing our 2-night camping trip to Sibbald Point Provincial Park on the banks of Lake Simcoe. Depending on who you ask this park gets mixed reviews, so we weren't sure how we would feel about this park. What You'll Like:
Large sandy beach on Lake Simcoe. Spacious electrical and non-electrical campsites with pull through trailer sites. Radio free camping for a natural camping experience near an urban centre. The Sibbald family museum - Eildon Hall (open in July & August). Grassy picnic areas and forested hiking trail. Boat launch and parking area for boaters. Open year-round for day-use.
Amenities seem pretty decent! good to know! Park tours always help so much so thank you for sharing the video!
Thanks guys!! I hope they can be helpful for other visitors. I know I always like to watch a few tours before I go anywhere 👌
Great review. We were there on Canada Day weekend so it was even busier than when you were there. I think it would be a nice park in spring or fall when the beach day use people are not as likely to go. Good thing you knew about the fill stations at the comfort stations as we didn't know that before we went and we spent a fair bit of time at the dump station to fill up.
Thank you! I don't think I could go on a long weekend, or I'd just end up staying on my site. 🤣 My sister told me about the water stations since she arrived the day before and I'm so glad she did. It was very busy when we were checking in, so saved us a lot of time.
Hi! Totally understand about how busy it is. I’ve there twice as a overnight stay in the peak summer months. I want to back, but on the shoulder season. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks so much! Yes I think we will give it another try in the shoulder season - then the amenities should be less busy and hopefully it doesn't take an hour to go through the dumping station.
thank you for the great video my dear friend. success !! see you in Bali indonesia
Thank you!
The place looks great for night out and has all the essentials like water, toilets and park shop... The museum looked interesting... Wow...lot of beers to choose from ...the trail was deep ...yeah mosquitoes are a no no...heritage walk looked great ...nice vlog !!
Thanks so much! The park had a lot of great amenities and would be a great option for beach goers or a quick weekend away.
So much great info as always. Love your enthusiasm and structure. The park looks like it has a lot to offer. Would love to take a boat out for the day there. That place seems huge. Free museums are great too. Fern trail seems nice but watch out for that poison ivy! I like the break down at the end
Wow!!! Camping is what I like the most . 500 section on the campground. What a great place
We enjoyed that area.
this park looks specially made for camping, its safe and peaceful, thanks for sharing
Amazing camp site! Great information as well, very helpful for those planning to visit the place. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video as always! Great tips!
Thank you!
Looks like an amazing camp ground. Your review is so thorough and Love how you include little tips throughout.
Can’t believe how busy the park got!
Radio free zone!!! Yes 🤗 that’s amazing, I’d also book in that section 😅
I'm a big fan of the radio free sections - so much more peaceful. Thanks for watching!
Oh I totally agree with your negitives!
Footages are excellent. Informative and interesting also. Location also looks beautiful.
Thank you, really appreciate it!
Excellent review. The place has decent amenities. I would like to camp here.
Thanks so much. Lots of amenities for sure 👍
Fully agree with it being busy there! Been there once on a weekend in the summer, crazy how busy it was
It's a popular spot! I'd say weekdays would be a better experience 👌
I love camping. This place is a great spot for that:) Thanks for this introduction to the place :D
Yes it's a popular spot for sure.
Looks like a great place to spend some time.
Nice that you can get some information about bats.
Too bad it was a bit busy. All the best!
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful place for comping 👍Thank you for sharing my new friends 🌹🌹🌹
Thanks and welcome!!
We enjoyed our stay at Siddbald, nice park, busy on weekends, so beach was packed. Made the same mistake at the filling station at 500 comfort station. U turn lol. Need more paths I agree, oh not fun backing in the site at night in the rain, only to find out we could have pulled tru. Note to self leave earlier.
Oh no!! Arriving at night or in the rain is the worst. It's happened to us too... not ideal. Comparing it now to some other parks, it was actually an OK experience but I'd prefer to go during a less busy time.
Came back to watch again.
Loved your honest review of this park! Busy is definitely not for everyone and waiting an hour to dump would be very annoying. The beach did look nice though.
The beach was definitely the highlight here.
Quite a bit to do here. I've never heard of a campground with a museum. I do love historical places. The grounds looks pretty nice. Rather open, I enjoy more dense woods but, the beach definitely makes up for it. As always I appreciate the depth of information and your own perspective you put into these videos.
Yes there was a lot to do there for sure. I prefer more dense woods as well and more privacy - I'm learning that there's so much to the world of camping!
Just truly amazing and lovely 😻🥰
Thank you 😊
Gorgeous vlog my friend, you explained everything nicely and gave some useful tips. The only thing I don't like here, right from the beginning of the video, is the full parking lot, which means it's overflowing with people.😄
Thanks so much! Yes the full parking lot was definitely a "sign" 🤣
@@TheAverageTourist Haha definitely, great content though 👌👌
Nice place friend
Thanks!
I'm planning a camping trip to Sibbald Point in a few weeks in the off peak season. Just wondering if it's quiet there, as far as outside road traffic is concerned? I see that the park is close to some main roads.
The only road traffic we heard when we were there was from within the park and the day use area.
great place 🎉
Yes it was!
Hello from Turkey 🇹🇷🙋
Canada is a country I would love to see. I hope I have a chance to visit one day 🙏 It was a nice video. I subscribed to your channel :)
How are you hows your experience there it's looks so awesome.Im happy for you, you've been in that place.Hope you enjoy.
Thanks very much! We had a good time there.
the park was super busy when I went there with My niece and nephew in tow, super loud, even at night, around 11pm wardens had to come to the site beside us to tell them to be quiet. Niece and nephew do not want to go back to this provincial park. Though I may try it myself one time.
Surprisingly it wasn't loud when we went but we were fully expecting it to be. We did go by a few sites blaring music in different areas of the park. I'd try it again but probably only in the shoulder season.
My Niece, who was 11 at the time, is a lil water Nymph, we had did a day trip for the beach three years ago, water was amazing, but could not believe how busy it was! Line up to get in was to the highway! Anyway we decided to do a 2 nighter one weekend last year in July, Lakeside section. Was Loud most of that weekend.@@TheAverageTourist
The beach there is pretty nice, guess that's why it's a popular park!
Great video, have talked about buying a van, are you enjoying van trips?
We really love it - wish we did it sooner!!
We would also not like it being so busy, we hate busy places especially when camping, the main idea is to escape everything not be surrounded. Mosquitoes are the worst!
Agree!! We prefer to visit less busy spots, especially when camping 👍
There are so many pros and cons to consider when deciding to book at this park. Of course for us, being close to a brewery is a big perk 🙌
That trail didn't sound much fun when you were there...the probability of itching from bugs or plants seemed pretty high 😆
Haha yeah the brewery was a highlight, the poison ivy and mosquitoes were not 🤣
