My older brothers introduced this album to me when I was 12. Now 40 years later I'm listening to Kent's cover bobbing my head and tapping my feet bringing back so many memories of those times.

This is the finest, and, funkiest groove I’ve heard this kid do. And, that is saying SOMETHING!
IMO - This young man’s absolutely unrivaled groove, and, his equally untouchable ability to capture the root soul, as well as all the important notes n nuances of a song, is what separates him from the other finger style greats. Wait! Before all the lovers of players get all in an uproar... I’m not saying Kent is better. Tommy E, Sung Ja, Alip Ba Ta & Luca S are amaze-balls. As are a handful of uber-talented others. I’ve watched quite a few YT vids by other greats. But:
1: Nobody, has his groove, and his ability to maintain any groove, over multiple other song parts; and
2: Nobody else tries to keep so close to the OG arrangement, nor, try to, simultaneously play so many instruments, which, again, IMO, captures the soul of the songs so well.
He has the gift of groove.
