Gorgeous boat. Beautiful resto work. After watching this, I'm missing my late 60's Glastron Jetflite. That little 14' 2+2 with a 75hp Johnson Stinger was a wake jumping fiend! I recall following a big aft-cabin jumping a three foot swell when the hull split. Luckily the boat had a crazy amount of flotation in it and was able to make it to a beach. With the help of a few beachgoers, we were able to tilt the boat onto its side to drain the water out and used duct tape to patch it just enough to get back to the trailer. Duct tape was our go-to before there was Flex Seal. LoL. Nice boat. Beautiful. Memories...
Thank you! A friend of mine actually rebuilt this boat but i may make a second video with the slideshows and footage as it's been very popular and requested. Click Subscribe to stay tuned when it drops! Thanks
This is exactly the motivation I needed to see!. I recently purchased a 86 Carlson cvx 17 with the same outboard motor you have. I’m excited to get it running after I receive the new stator. Thanks for sharing!
Nice job on the resto , I did a 72 GT160 with a 87 Merc 115 and my current 74 CV21 both full blown restos . The 115 Merc is a beast , miss that one . My CV 21 has a Olds 455 it's a nice cruiser. Enjoy !
wow you did a great job on your glastron the boat looks incredible, i have done a few older boats myself so I get what it takes to do the work, because of what it costs to buy new sport boats that I can't afford redoing old boats is my only option, I'M REALLY IMPRESSED, you did a awesome restoration, the boat looks fantastic! I am currently restoring a 2005 Checkmate pulsare that was in a field for 10 years hopefully it will look as nice as yours turned out PS I paid a 1000 dollars for the boat pennies on the dollar!
I love the old Glastrons. I had a 74 GT160, cool boat. The James Bond movie, Live and Let Die, used a Glastron GT 150 for the record breaking jump in the movie.
I have a 80 cvx Carlson intimidator 20 footer. Needs stringers. Gelcoat needs redone and spider cracks. I updated to Alpha mercrusier and transome asembly. Roller cam 350.
Because those boats don’t weigh a ton or produce a 3 foot wave that destroys everything around it and they can’t charge 150K for it. Also not enough room to fit a huge stereo and speakers to annoy everyone else on the lake. Lol
I bought my CVX16 with silver ge🎉l goat and 115 horsepower Merc with power trim new in 19 77 for a whopping 6500 including trailer. I thought they were the prettiest boats on the water then and even would be the The finest looking boats on the water today. Most of the stuff now looks like a bathtub! And you're certainly not going to get them for $6,500. Try about 60,000? Great boat served us well.
Süper Classic Boat
BEAUTIFUL RIG!!!! Love the lines of the Carlson boats and this one is as nice a resto-mod as I have ever seen!
The big tower of power! I love it.
did a good job!
Thank you! IF you liked it don't forget to click the subscribe button, helps us creators alot!
They look better than what Glastron makes these days.

I have ALWAYS wanted one of these since I saw them at a boat show in maybe 1973.
Wow nice job on that gelcoat.
wow very cool colors boat
Beautiful wow
Sick!
The paint looks to be LaserBlue like mine originally did, without the fade...
Well done! Trim it out and let her fly!
Nicest looking CVX-16 I've seen. Wish mine looked like that!
He did a great job with this boat, every single nut and screw out of it, tore down to two halves and rebuilt!
OMG is it for Sale??? I remember seeing that beauty in the catalog when it came out. Some of the best looking sport boats ever!!!
Incredible work...stunning!

A buddy had one very similar and it was a bullet. Nice work . I still have an 88 115 merc straight 6 pushing a Ranger Fisherman.

Awesome Boat!
Awesome!!! Mine was stolen out of my back yard and never recovered! Was my dream boat at the time!
Oh no!
@@RoadLessTrekked It is ok. I went to a Baja DSR 190. Put a 350 in it. Then to a Formula 292 SR1. Rebuilding the 454's right now.... ;)
Great looking boat. Would’ve been nice to hear a start up and the sound of the old mercs. But everyone today doesn’t get it I guess. Thanks anyway.
Bravo! I've been looking for a CVX worthy of a restore but they're tough to come by where I am - Western Canada
Good luck on it!
Could you do a full video of the build ? Interior and everything plz
I am planning to do a slideshow release in the future, click subscribe to be notified when it drops!

Why don't they make small cool boats like this anymore?
Because those boats don’t weigh a ton or produce a 3 foot wave that destroys everything around it and they can’t charge 150K for it. Also not enough room to fit a huge stereo and speakers to annoy everyone else on the lake. Lol
hahah what Jeff Murphy said I guess... lol

What’s something like this cost? Is this one for sale?
It's not for sale, I would estimate 10-15,000 with all work done myself.
Beautiful resto however black interior really let’s boat down and HOT in summer.
The grey and black do get warm!
