Jeezy.. you cut your hair (and brush it) almost the same way I do mine. I always cut my waves against the grain . It makes it more even for me. Once people know the blade equivalents between open and closed .. like a 4 closed is same as a 3 open (on some clippers maybe not wahl) then you can def cut against the grain without worrying about it messing up your progress. You can always go back over it with the grain after if you want but I feel that just going straight into it with the grain can cause patchyness across the cut (for some ppl). Also I'm glad you explained that the crown area needs to be thicker. Some barbers be having their clients looking all thin in that area because they used the same guard length all over and u simply can't do that for all clients. The only thing I do differently that you don't do is that I leave the front a little longer and instead cut that part with a larger guard with the grain. I then lay it down with a durag and/or holding spray and then lining up the "bang" . That way it doesn't leave me looking like I got a 5 or 6 head forehead. Lol no offense. I also don't do a perfect box or square. Sometimes u gotta keep it along the same growth pattern that the person's hair grows instead of giving everybody that same perfect square boxy lineup . Not saying give anyone a Wayne Brady or nothing lol but there are tricks to have a clean lineup without making everyone look like they came out of a Minecraft game lolol. Look at Jason Tatum or Jalen Rose.. perfect lineups

@@quinnnolan9511 when you cut ATG you get more hair off and your waves tend to pop more. At least for me. When I go WTG I still have those over-curls and it looks bulky.
