Go Ahead 360 Jersey! Tell them like it is!! I’ve been cutting my son’s and Hubby’s hair for YEARS! And I might not be that Professional barber in a salon. But I’ve learned by trial and error. And what’s encouraging to me, both of my older sons said they prefer for their mom to cut their hair.😊

Okay I had to come back, I just watched the end LOLOL! I agree with your tips as I research myself and I don't cut anybody's hair but my own. I even found some excellent clippers to for lining it up because I learned that clippers that you cut with aren't necessarily what you line with. I paid $70 for LINERS! Never thought that day would come but you're RIGHT! This cutting your hair yourself game is serious lol. I have about three pair of clippers now for my own head and they get the job done. Once I get my blend in the back right I'm good to go. I also agree that it takes time. I've been cutting my own hair for a good year and a half now.
As much as I want to support my local barbers, the disclaimer at the end is EXACTLY why I went back to cutting my own hair. I respect the grind but TOO MANY times, skilled barbers just simply couldn't give me what I asked for. I know y'all are artists & craftsmen in your own right but MY hair is not YOUR canvas

Fear is a crippler bro. Nothing wrong with trying and failing. It’s only hair. Once you can get past the fear, the trial and error part becomes simple and will drive you to get better.

I feel you on that, been cutting my hair for 8 years, OA blade all around. But recently I found a barber with skills like you, so I grew my hair out. I'm rocking the high fade with the sponge brush. Next month going with the braids with a low fade, in Texas we call it a drop fade lol.
This off topic but I have a afro right now but I had waves before and the waves in the back of my head were not completely formed so I had less hair in the back. I dont want to cut my hair but any advice what I should do
