  • Trains are part of everyday life in Japan, the SC Maglev and Railway Park is well worth a visit if you enjoy trains and the history of railway in Japan.
    The museum is owned by JR (Japan Railway) Central and is located on an island off the mainland of Nagoya, very close to Legoland.
    Below are some of the trains you will see at the museum.
    MLX01 SCMaglev (1995)
    0 Series Shinkansen (various on show from 1971 to 1986)
    100 Series Shinkansen (1985 and 1986)
    300 Series Shinkansen Prototype (1990)
    700 Series Shinkansen Prototype (2014)
    N700 Series Shinkansen Prototype (2005)
    Class Ke 90 Steam Locomotive (1918)
    JNR Class EF58 Electric Locomotive (1957)
    Class MoHa 1 3rd-class electric railcar (1922)
    381 series EMU car (1973)
    Class KiHa 48000 railcar (1956)
    KiHa 181 Series DMU car (1968)
    Class HoJi 6005 Steam Railcar
    SuNi 30 passenger carriage (1929)
    10 Series Sleeping Carriage (1960)
    And a lot more.
    There is alos simulators and other exhibits around the museum to keep you entertained, most of which will be on top of your entry fee. There is enough to see, without having to pay extra, to be satisified about the 1000 JPY entry fee

      Not something I would normally do, glad I did, was interesting and well worth the money.
