    Those Tillotson cast aluminum flywheels are a great bang for your buck for the quality. Plus someone has spun one up to 10k for a long time privately. The downside is they come with only 18 degrees of advance. Granted even though most cams call for 32 34 a 12* keyway will get you to 30.

    That sure is a nicely modified 224. It seems like upgrading the stock flywheels on most of the predators and other clones is a must do for anyone who is going to be removing the governor and plans on running at RPM's. Do you run tachometers on your engines? Your videos are great and really show the viewer what works but I haven't seen any significant problems in any of them yet. Have you experienced any major malfunctions with any of your engines....flywheel throwing magnets, spun bearings, catastrophic engine failures? I would be really interested to hear about those and I think it could be very useful and entertaining for your subscribers. Maybe you could start uploading a compilation video of "mod's gone wrong", defective products, and bloopers once or twice a year, or however long it takes to document enough mishaps to create a video. I think they would get a lot of views and increase the number of subscribers you have. Just a thought...

      Thanks. I have had minor mishaps while out filming this stuff. Breaking cameras, someone ran over a camera, Not being able to stop in time at the end of the road, carbs falling off. I have a video on that one. The only major engine failure I have had so far is a valve stem breaking While I was filming a video. I Have a video coming out fixing the engine. I have been so lucky with these engines so far. I know sooner or later one is really going to come apart. It's just a matter of time. I hope I get it on video. Thanks for the suggestions. I think it would be fun putting that stuff together.

    Hey man cut about 3 coils out of your clutch spring (max torque style clutches) and raise your stall speed ; )
    youll be glad u did.
    note: u may have to grind away about 1/16" off the side edges of your clutch shoes (where they contact each other, not the bell) ... this shrinks the circle down a little so u can fight the spring back in lol .. also has the effect of raising stall speed too, this is 1 reason u wont cut many loops from the spring.
    Your engine will rev and your clutch will bite like a mean dog! lol

    I'm confused as to why you took the Tillotson flywheel off (rated at 10,000rpm) to replace with a cheap cast flywheel (rated at 8,000rpm)????!!! And I could be wrong but I think you should've used a #8 flywheel key instead of the #7

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Год назад +5

      No need to be confused . The Tillotson flywheel has glued on magnets ! It is the ONLY flywheel I have had fail on the channel. Check out the MB 200 on the channel . It failed in that video.
      I will ALWAYS use a solid cast flywheel over the tillotson flywheel.
      Actually an 8 degree flywheel key or the 7 I used is not enough to get to the optimum advance with the cast wheel . The cast wheel has about 18 to 20 degrees of timing built in. A 12 degree key would get it closer to the optimum 32 degrees advance.
      A 12 degree key would be more in the ball park. Check out the playlist for more FANTASTIC mini bike content . Thanks for watching !

      Also....I have another Tillotson that I'm going to leave stock (except for a mikuni 22mm and F&B header) I really want to do a governor delete. Do you think the stock flywheel will do? And will the cast flywheel work with a Tillotson 212e? All the ones I find say for non-hemi

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Год назад +1

      @@mickrussell7198 Anything with a glued on magnet isn't reccomend for high performance use. I have heard of Predator wheels coming apart , never witnessed it myself.
      For as inexpensive as the 8k cast wheel is , might as well be on the safe side and at least go with that wheel or better yet a billet wheel.
      There is no way to guareentee that the wheel coming apart is an isolated incident.
