    I like popcorn, nice build I would use assembly lube on all bearing and gear surfaces and oil only for bolts. Oil has a tendency to drain off after sitting for only a short period of time where assembly lube remains where you put it for days.

    Good vid to watch. Kiddos to you putting your mistakes. But now you know, check everything before final assembly and also put a copper/aluminum washer to seal the oil pressure. And lash is set on TDC. But you got it bud. Doing this stage 2 to my 224 on my Coleman soon!

    You definitely need to clearance the block and cam, there's some videos on how to do it, the oil dipper will hit the front of the block

    All you have to do is cut the sheathing on your regular throttle cable so you have more cable coming out of the sheathing. About one inch works

    Cool vid. You didn't have to clearance the block? I had to clearance three spots on the block and 2 places on the cam.

    • @barriosbuilds7688
      @barriosbuilds7688  10 месяцев назад

      Yep, on the top of the block. Then the cam, then the rod on the cam filmed all that lol. It was a headache.

    Hi I'm building a 224, I'm just wondering if the parts I got for it wont blow it up, what I already have on it is a governor delete, oil censor delete, cast aluminum fly wheel rated for 10k rpm, billet rod, 18lb valve springs and a mikuni clone round slide. I ordered a .01 head gasket, 22lb valve springs, and a 265 hot cam. ill do the necessary clearancing, but I'm just wondering if I need anything else for my setup to run reliably.

    • @barriosbuilds7688
      @barriosbuilds7688  6 месяцев назад

      You should be all good to run that setup, just make sure you properly tighten the valve springs and use the proper valve lash. The thing I like about these go powersport kits, is that they give you a recommended valve lash to set it at with the rod and cam that came with the kit.

    Hey do you think you could make a video on how to install a fuel gauge on a motorized bicycle because I want to know if it’s possible

    • @barriosbuilds7688
      @barriosbuilds7688  9 месяцев назад

      I’m sure it is, maybe get one of those caps from Amazon that have a float on it. Honestly that would be helpful because I tend to forget to fill up sometimes lol. I can look into it though, thanks for the idea!

  • @kingsolomon3175
    @kingsolomon3175 Месяц назад

    Man I’m fighting constant overheating issues after hopping up my 224. These things just don’t seem to like the high compression and advanced timing. I got about 5-10 min run time wide open. And I keep blowing head gaskets.

      Copper head gasket with copper spray you should be good

    I’m about to do the same thing to a 224. How’s your motor holding up now?

    • @barriosbuilds7688
      @barriosbuilds7688  3 месяца назад

      Motor is doing great! Although it’s not on a go kart anymore. It topped out at 56mph on a go kart with a really big sprocket. Could have easily gotten 60 out of it, if it was geared properly. But now it’s going on a quad, thinking about filming it. But if it gets enough interest I might. Just need to work on my welding lol.

    • @barriosbuilds7688

    How much the cost of this engine?

  • @deanwolfhair2520
    @deanwolfhair2520 5 месяцев назад

    When you use the billet flywheel you should use the shorter stock size fan shroud and shorter cup that is held on by the flywheel nut

    • @deanwolfhair2520
      @deanwolfhair2520 5 месяцев назад

      Not stock shroud but the 212 or 196 shroud

      What for ?

  • @stevew3978
    @stevew3978 5 месяцев назад

    Is there a way to increase engine torque and performance without increasing the maximum RPM? I want to increase the torque and horsepower of a Predator 224cc engine used on a wood chipper, but I don't want to increase the maximum RPM. Is it possible to do that?

    • @barriosbuilds7688
      @barriosbuilds7688  5 месяцев назад

      You can do a lot of these mods, but just leave the governor in the motor. Would still make a world of a difference torque wise and the governor will keep the RPM down.

    • @stevew3978
      @stevew3978 5 месяцев назад

      @@wakewake1136 It's quite an irony for someone who uses the screen handle "wakewake1136" but has not waken up to the fact that that's the same Red Beard who gave unqualified praise to the Predator 459cc engine for having an oil pump and but did not mention the weaknesses of this design tradeoff. He sounded like he received at least some of the Predator engines for free from Harbor Freight for review. I take the reviews from these reviewers with a grain of salt when the reviewer did not pay full retail prices to obtain those products for testing.
