    Lyrics:
If you want me, come and get me,
You don't have a chance if you don't move now.
    I'm not waiting, Any longer,
Know that I'm playing to win this time.
    When you make your move,
    I won't hesitate.
    If you take too long,
    You can be too late.
This time I'm playing to win.
If you want me, come and see me,
Don't wait around for another chance.
Make your mind up, make your play,
You should be playing to win this time.
    When you make your move,
    I won't hesitate.
    You can take too long,
    You can be too late.
This time I'm playing to win.
    All those wasted years,
Didn't know, I was only a motion away.
I got what I wanted for me,
I didn't see it was not going to be there.
    I was a fool.
This time I'm playing to win.
If you want me, come and get me,
You don't have a chance if you don't move now.
    I'm not waiting, Any longer,
Know that I'm playing to win this time.
    When you make your move,
    I won't hesitate.
    If you take too long,
    You can be too late.
This time I'm playing to win.
    When you make your move,
    I won't hesitate.
    If you take too long,
    You can be too late.
This time I'm playing to win.
This time I'm playing to win
(You know that I've made up my mind)
This time I'm playing to win
    (wohoaaahhhh)
This time I'm playing to win.

John should have been known world wide but only made it to that level in Australia , scandinavian countries a bit in Germany, Canada and UK. People around the world are now discovering his flawless vocal abilities via youtube reactors! Thankfully there is a lot of good video of his live performances. Thank you.

Now you've discovered the Australian secret weapon, use it carefully. He's got fifty years of recorded material that's pure brilliance and remained untouched by fame and adulation, preferring to be "one of the guys" in his band. You're right - he's an entertainer - one of the best of all time.

Farnham was the first guy Queen approached to be their new lead singer. The guy has one of the best voices in the world today- one of his unique “gifts” is his ability to reach the highest notes in the tenor range with full chest voice (in other words he can belt them)- most males need soft falsetto for these high notes.

John Farmhan is an Aussie Icon. One of the most loved entertainers this country has ever had. Not only does he have a huge vocal range, he is also pitch perfect and never hits a bum note even during live performances. In facenhos vooce is even better live than in his studio recordings as he sings with so much passion and energy when he gets in front of an audience. His intereaction with his audiences is an incredible thing to experience. When you come away from one of his concerts you feel uplifted and energised and feels likenhe has been singing right into your heart and soul.
He also sings just about any genre from the hardest rock, to the most heart wrenching ballads. Not to forget he also does country music, jazz, soul, musical theatre, opera, comedy, pop. He is so versatile that every song that he performs is exciting and different. Not the same old same old.
Check out You're the Voice...in which he has bagpipes solo. And his cover of Beatles Classic Help has a great Sax Solo.

Alright! Nice reaction guys. As an Aussie who’s married to a Dane, I think I can give a good insight here!! John has been well known in Denmark/Scandinavia since the 80s. You may have heard most likely 2 of his songs: You’re the Voice and Pressure Down. I have spent A LOT of time in Denmark (just got home from there actually) and they are both played on the radio frequently, which makes me super happy when I hear them 😂.
I guess the best Danish comparison for John is someone like Kim Larsen or Tommy Seebach. Not at all in terms of musical style or vocal ability (John is truly one of, if not the, greatest singers to ever have lived) but in terms of what he means to Australia and how beloved he is. Everyone knows him and when he sings we all listen.
I hope you guys can check out You’re the Voice and Pressure Down. But also here’s a couple to get you well down the rabbit hole:
Help with the Melbourne symphony orchestra
His version of Black Dog by Led Zeppelin
    Reminiscing with Little River Band
There are MANY more, but those are three of my favorites.

Its always heart-warming to see young people being introduced to my generation's music I have been a John Farnham fan since he started in the 1960's . This song is one of my favourites and I love it because it involves everyone on stage who are all recognised performers here in AUS you may not have noticed but a very large proportion of the audience were involved also all his concerts are like this one and his live performances are always better than his recordings, the best I've seen was his concert with the Melbourne Symphony orchestra in Melbourne everyone band ,backing singers orchestra and audience came together for an experience that anybody that was there will never forget you will find his most reacted to song HELP a tribute cover of a Beatles song from this same concert and it is spectacular . His biggest hit was YOUR THE VOICE , making it to the top of the charts in Europe . He is not related to Jimmy Barnes but he is a mate of his, in Australia a mate is more than just a freind your more like a brother so that might be where you got the idea that they were related. Other John Farnham songs to react to are THATS FREEDOM , AGE OF REASON ANGELS , TWO STRONG HEARTS, IN DAYS TO COME and his covers of WHEN THE WAR IS OVER and COOL CHANGE which is my favourite song check all of this out you have everything to gain

He actually has the bagpipes playing in one of his songs, I won't say which in case you watch more. John was singing for decades pre-RUclips, so he won't have as many views of his videos as some artists. He preferred to sing in Australia rather than be away from home for long stretches of time (especially pre-internet and mobile phones.) So many other songs people will mention that are awesome.

The 'link' is most likely that for a short time John Farnham was the lead singer of The Little River Band. Cold Chisel's drummer, the late Steve Prestwich did, or was going to join that band also when Cold Chisel split up. He wrote the Cold Chisel classic, When The War Is Over which was not only performed by Cold Chisel but also The Little River Band as it was written at about the same time. Less of a link, but probably more well known, Jimmy Barnes the lead singer of Cold Chisel, and John Farnham teamed up in the early '90s to record 'When Something Is Wrong With My Baby', for Barnes' highest selling album 'Soul Deep'. Both are legends of Aussie music. John Farnham has recently undergone serious surgery for cancer and we wish him all the best as he battles the insipid beast cancer.

Welcome to the John Farnham experience. He has decades of performing.. Watch Help, and You're the Voice (with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), watch for the Scottish cameo..

If you want the Scottish influence of bagpipes- go for ‘you’re the voice’, if you want a good sax solo, go for ‘help’ by John Farnham (Always live versions, Melbourne orchestra one’s are the best). Those two songs by John seem to be the most requested for people to react to.

As someone has already mentioned, John Farnham was the first vocalist asked to take over as lead singer in Queen. He refused as he didn't want to leave/ be constantly travelling away from his wife and children. He has, however, done concerts with greats including Ray Charles and Tom Jones.
Your reference to bagpipes amuses me because he uses bagpipes in his iconic song that sent him to stardom, You're The Voice.

John "Farnsey," is a good friend of Jimmy Barnes "Barnsey," singer from Cold Chisel. John performed a Chisel song, "When the War is Over," and later a duet with Jimmy called "When Something is Wrong With My Baby."
John filled in for LRB for a few years, then Glenn Shorrock came back. John went back to solo. Try "you're the voice" with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with bag-pipes. "Help" from the same concert has an excellent saxaphone solo, by Steve Williams.
AC/DC has saxaphones in "It's a Long Way to the Top," played on a truck going down a Melbourne street in the 70's.

John filled in as lead singer of Little River Band (when Glenn Shorrick left to persue a solo career), I think it was only 1 - 2 years. John commenced his career as a 18yr old pop singer in 1967 until 1976. After his time with LRB, his manager organised his return as an adult singer in the early 80's. He has stood the test of time, and is one of the greatest singers of all time; he is a true gentleman, and a consummate entertainer.

Your info is very close. John started as a 17 year old in 1967 to about 76. During wich time he was King of Pop 5 times. 76 -82 basically singing pubs and caberet and some TV shows. He was lead singer with LRB from 82 to 86. His revitalised solo career with Whispering Jack was 87. Noteably, when he left LRB David Hershfelder (Key's and Keytar)and Wayne Neslon (base guitar) left LBR to become members of the John Farnham Band..

If you're curious about John Farnham he's done a very wide range of musical styles, personally I prefer his more lyrical songs, like You're the Voice and Help(a cover of the Beatles song, he absolutely makes it his own), he really showcases his incredible voice on those tracks, especially the live version from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) performance.

Well done guys, you have stumbled onto an Aussie legend. Based on your comments I can suggest two songs both from the same concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, possibly regarded as one of the best ever concerts. They are the song you mentioned at the start "You're the Voice" (ruclips.net/video/6m2m_9Uijso/видео.html), and that has your bagpipes, and the other is a totally unique cover of The Beatles "Help" (ruclips.net/video/dv54giOSRKs/видео.html) - that will give the sax you were looking for 😁. But there is so much more. Farnsey can sing any genre - his highlight reel goes from hard rock to opera. Only one rule - LIVE performances only.
