STAR TREK V - NEW VFX 13 - KLINGON ATTACK

- In this part I oriented myself on the one hand to the original scene, the second identical but newly designed.
In 2012 I started creating new VFX scenes for Star Trek V. I will now gradually put these online here.
The aim was to design the look, the camera perspectives and the movements in the style of the 80s.
Have fun watching - Кино
Nothing beats the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 Refit on screen. It's just soo beautiful and classy looking.
"Damn you, Sir, you will try" justifies this whole movie's existence.
Very good. On a side note, always wondered why Scotty got up to greet Spock and McCoy instead of beaming Kirk immediately.
A very valid point and it was due to sh!tty direction.
So he wouldn't get blown up in the control room.
Maybe Beaming two Crash the system and he was going to reset the system. We do not know what the state the transporter system was in and Scotty had to Bypass Something to get it half working?
The director's fault, sir.
Thank you for recreating the Enterprise with Honor and Distinction! This movie did so many injustices to this ship with incredible legacy. Resorting her the way you do always warms my heart.
For me some of the injustices to the Enterprise A are using the STNG Corridors,Transporter and Sickbay Room!
The Producers should have built some new sets for the Enterprise A for continuity.
@@ChrisRoth1972 I agree. I did not like the engine room from the Galaxy Class - Enterprise D. Also 10 forward as a conference room in Star Trek 6 the Undiscovered Country! But, Hollywood probably destroyed the original sets or reconfigured them for Voyager's Engine Room. But I guess we weren't suppose to notice. They should have just left it like this and we would have been just fine ruclips.net/video/WtDheTqmKx0/видео.html
‘Damn you sir, you will try’.
Great line.
I’m happy you didn’t change the transporter effects. Despite this movies flaws I’ve always really liked the quick beaming with the classic sounds.
That haunting.....you,...
You're alone...alone.
Very well done.
I love your work.👍😎⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love those exterior shots! For a second there I was waiting for a hoard of "Rock Devil Minions" to show up!
Fantastic Job.You made Star Trek V more Theatrical.
Simply fantastic!
This is really good. The Original Star Trek Series is the best !
Kirk to Gu'aold "Why does God need a Starship"
Nice work on the models, but one of the biggest charmes was seeing the up-close shot of the B'Rel firing. The level of detail there conveyed the realism of the vessel. Giving this far-away view of the shot just feels diminishing.
And with the extermior shots of the ever-approaching B'Rel towards the Enterprise, the original gave it that sense of threat, of imminent danger. With the VFX shots showing the B'Rel stopping it feels like just a "Hey 'sup" kinda shot. I do like the second one from the Enterprises view when Spock got the help of that Klingon General foolish old man. What I would have done (and to note, I am neither a produce, nor a VFX artist, just a simple choreographer of fights) is to make the first shot like the original, from the Klingons perspective, but not show the stop before the Enterprise. The second shot from Enterprise' view should show the B'Rel still approaching, but the Enterprise slowly rising to a higher stance (basically taking the high-ground if you will).
Happy New Year! Excellent work (as always). Love the detail on the Enterprise as well as the colorful star field. Boy oh boy...I am tired of that little Bird of Prey picking on the Enterprise!!!! Fire all phasers!!!!! 😁
Thank you, the original scene looked like the Enterprise was hung on wires, while a Stage hand guided the bird of prey by hand into the cameras point of view.
This gives the scene credibility.
Massive improvement, good job.
Beautiful
Awesome. Now can you redo the whole movie.
most underrated youtuber ever
Excellent work as always, but I was really hoping you would also rework the Klingon's rescue of Kirk as well.
Nicely done, its amazing how much better this film would look with remastered special effects if it was reissued
very well done, as usual. quick question, would shadows and light reflections on a starship appear diffused and soft within a nebula? is there a set calculation for intensity and distance of which light affects the surface? was that your thinking when you applied color gradients on the hulls?
Yes the lighting setup is a bit brighter than it actually would be in a nebula, but I have focused here on illuminating the Enterprise well - artistic freedom, so to speak. In a real setup it would be very dark and hardly recognizable.
@@HIKEANIMATION The new exterior shots in this clip are great, but I think they should be a tad darker. Not a lot, just maybe 10-20% darker, particularly the nebula background. Just to try to match the original style more.
Otherwise great job!
Шикарно👍👍👍
First class! 🖖
Intresting, V was the worst movie but the interactions between the trinity was firing on all cylinders. Love to see them overhaul this movie, vfx ,re edit & put back the original ending they had no money to film. I had a comic adaption before the film arrived, obviously working off the script. Instead of being menaced by Zardoz firing lightning Jim had a last stand against rock monsters Phasers blazing!
Oh, nice work by the way.
Happy New Year! 😃
i like your verion much better!!!
I like the new effects, but when spock says "damn you, sir you will try!" That's always stuck with me.
Nice!
Are those noises coming from a remastered edition or just the original English version? I can't recall hearing them.
Sounds like some beasts in Subnautica for some reason.
The movie footage was taken from the 2013 BD
Good job
Good work on those exterior shots. Unfortunately no amount of VFX work can cure the awful bridge redesign which ruined the perfect look of the first four movies, and which gave us that terrible low-definition view screen. Luckily that last item was fixed for the sixth movie. Damn you Golan-Globus!
It’s worse than that. The “redesigned” bridge is actually the Enterprise D battle bridge set. Most of the Enterprise A sets in this movie were shared with TNG, just slightly redressed to make it less obvious. I’m not sure if it was a budget issue or they just couldn’t be bothered to design something new, but it’s really distracting once you notice it.
@@SargonTheGrape I dunno…. Some of those corridor shots were totally obvious, but I never pegged that as the battle bridge set. It just seemed like they took the TMP/WoK set and said, how can we make this awful? It’s sort of inexcusable seeing as how a lighter, slightly updated version of that was in TVH. I can’t believe that set was destroyed knowing they were likely to have more movies.
What I don’t understand is why KIRK didn’t grab a phaser in the drawer compartment and take with him?
I thought we all agreed star trek 5 never happened!
Paging Dr. McCoy! There are two wounded crewmen that need medical attention a few feet behind you. Hello? Doctor?
The only thing I have to say about the segment and I have not seen this movie in a very very long time. “… A Hispanic Klingon???”
A good effort to beef up the original VFX. But I feel you stayed a bit too close to the original storyboarding which is lackluster in energy and action. The first shot is just the Klingon BOP firing, not even having the Enterprise in the same frame. The second shot is the BOP just stopping in front of the Enterprise.
Instead, the BOP can dive in from above, over the camera's head, a surprise attack having fired its torpedo offscreen (the sound effect is pretty much at the very start of that cut) zooming toward the Enterprise in the distance. The second shot can have the BOP swooping around and starting a turn for another pass, acting more predatory like, well, a Bird Of Prey.
Again, a good effort, I love the models and lighting done.
In the normal course of events, "God"
Would have turned Kirk into the proverbial pillar of salt
ST II: Nicolas Meyer
ST III and IV: Leonard Nimoy
ST V: William Shatner
ST VI: Nicolas Meyer
Sing it with me! One of these things does not belong...
Loved the first act of this movie... but what happend to the script after that? It is shocking how fast it went down hill. Nothing to do with the acting.
As I was saying normally "God" would have turned Kirk into a pillar of salt.
Why are they at blue alert status not yellow or red alert?? 🤔
That would mean changing the bulb...
@@Graytail oh okay 👍 thanks
Great work! Too bad you can’t do anything about the awful planetside “vfx” :P
Not bad. But wouldn't a Klingon try to get behind its target, especially knowing that a Constitution class is rather vulnerable from its rear arc?
Klingon Honor requires a head on engagement… particularly after a disabling attack.
I'm going to be honest. You've got tons of potential, but your work is still a little behind the original movie's VFX. HOWEVER- You're showing enormous potential. Keep experimenting with your own VFX (animate your logo, too, if you're an animator, right?) and building your skills and show us again what you've got in 2 or 3 years. You have serious potential but you're not there yet.
This movie was great it's just the effects weren't that good
3:26 3:27 3:28 the ship didn’t shake 3:50

Na still prefer the original.
Both are terrible. The original effects were insufficient, and the new effects have the same problem most "new effects" have.......they are too over-the-top.
