Great work by everyone! Loved seeing Hunter through out the years (the digital de-aging turned out great!) and dang it if the Guardian's message on hope didn't get me choked up a bit at the end there. Another fantastic entry in the Starship Intrepid tapestry!
Really great work guys! I had to watch it a second time in full screen just to see that D'Deridex flyby. I think this is one of your best stories (so far). It had some nice references, a good lesson, and excellent character development.
Absolutely WONDERFUL! Loved the ending. And it was fantastic to see Risha Denny (write her a solo movie STAT! lol) back as Shelby. Congrats to all involved!
We’ve often talked about working with Risha on something more, but she’s pretty busy these days and that ocean between us complicates matters. But never say never, and I love working with her. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid If you ever do a solo movie with Risha, you've got to bring back James Cawley as Mackenzie Calhoun! Hard to believe he only played that character once in that one HF episode.
Very Good. As I am getting older I too ask myself "why am I here". This is the reason I fell in love with Star Trek in the first place. For me it was never about the battles and the special effects. It was about asking deeper questions about ourselves/myslef. This episode lives up to that .
Thank you, I’m glad it resonated with you. Certainly been asking those questions myself a lot too as I get older. And like you, those are the kind of stories as like the most.
Thank you for this Commander, et al. Your fan made movies are far better than anything paramount is producing, and it helps me remember why I love Star Trek. Live long and Prosper...
I was excited when I heard new Star Trek would be on TV in part because I remember the sense of inspiration that made me fall in love with Star Trek in the first place. The optimism and hope for the future that unfortunately is pretty much totally lacking in all the current offerings. THIS is the Star Trek I fell in love with, THIS is what I want more of - everything about this is spot on. Thank you all so much for what you have created! You truly capture the heart and soul of what I love most about Star Trek, it's real essence.
Thanks so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I personally am enjoying the newer shows, especially Picard, but I totally understand not everyone agrees. Indeed, I remember similar feelings when TNG first aired. I’m sorry you’re not finding joy in them, but I’m genuinely grateful that you found something you’re missing in our very modest efforts. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid They have their own appeal and are good in their way, and of course I am watching them because it's new Star Trek, but it feels like something "classic" is missing. It took some time for each of the "new" shows to grow on me when they aired and I try to appreciate them each for what they are. Very much looking forward to Strange New Worlds, it seems like it's going to have more of the classic appeal to it, but thus far few of the episodes really grabbed me immediately like this one did. Trek means something different to everyone and that is what makes it so great. Your efforts deepen and enrich the Trek universe and here's to hoping for many more episodes from your team :)
Brilliant just Brilliant! This was the best episode I’ve ever seen. Wonderful and riveting storyline and Oscar type performances. Loved the special effects! So real! The way you tapped on those panels made me believe you were really piloting the shuttle. Uniforms and Pips were spot on mate! I’ve never seen such manly Star Fleet officers. The Kahn was my favorite and so mysterious, Paramount missed out on you mate. Keep writing I hope you have another soon! Cheers!
@@StarShipIntrepid will you be releasing more in the future? As big of a Trek fan as I am I have to be honest and say I am so disappointed in Picard and the direction the writers have gone. They have never been so off the mark in my opinion also not following Roddenberry’s vision what so ever. I hate what they did to Seven’s character and how they killed Echib made no sense. It’s almost like the creator wasn’t a fan and didn’t catch too many episodes. Roddenberry creation was one with an utopian future that sparked imagination and inspired technology’s. It made the future something to look forward too. They have turned it into a future that is depressing and dark with nothing that you would look forward to which is why your Movie short was such a breath of fresh air and am hoping you have plans on continuing the story. This was really nice! I liked how it progressed and the impact it had on Hunter. Seeing him at different points in his career and life. Very good use of the T’kon guardian, too. Nice lighting, camerawork, acting and story. I loved the cameo, it was a great callback to earlier days! Bravo, Intrepid cast and crew! 👍🖖🏼😎
I’m so glad it touched you Randy, that means a lot, especially coming from a fellow maker of fanfilms. Thanks so much for watching, and I hope your day is looking up.
Have been a fan since seeing Heavy Lies the crown in late 2007, fifteen years of NEVER being let down once!!! The musical cues matched the uniforms in easing the viewer between time periods. It was nice to see Rob Caves' name in the credits, as it was Hidden Frontier that lead me to Intrepid in the first place. Just seeing the love and effort put into every production makes be proud to be a fan of Star Trek because it was Nick, Rob, and everyone else that held all of us over in those years of no trek on TV. As a compliment, I enjoy these works of love FAR MORE than anything on TV (well, the first two episodes of PIC made me think there is hope) Thank you Nick and all who devoted their time and effort!! (Sam Cockings is AWESOME!!!!)
Makes me so happy that you recognised the progression of the cues through the time periods. I never mentioned it to Nick whilst I was working on it; but of course he saw through it right away - even before all the cues had been finished. 🤣
Thank you so much Scotty, that means a lot. And thanks for watching, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. And yes, Dylan’s score, and Sam’s visuals are awesome. :)
When I saw Nick Cook, I knew it was going to be a good. video. Excellent acting and story. I always thought it would fun to be part of Captain Hunter's crew on USS Intrepid. Especially if I had a chance to pilot the ship! Lol
What a great story in great ending I will be thinking about this for quite a while. I'm already planning on having multiple viewings thank you everyone
Amazing work as always. Loved the story and production. Hunter has always struck me as tenacious. And especially thanks for the stroll down Memory Lane.
Wow. Beautiful work all around. I've been wondering recently where my own younger dreams have been hiding. So although the guardian's words to Hunter clashed with his self-doubting and almost cynical attitude at the end, they resonated a bit with me. Thank you.
A nice little story. Special effects great as always Samuel. Your little one line was also delivered very well. With a few exceptions the acting was pretty decent. :-D

Excellent in Every Way!
Beautifully simple story told with a science fictional twist. Right up there with "A Treasure for the Ages" in my top two Intrepid stories.
Very Cool "episode" indeed!
It's not easy to do a complete story in under fifteen minutes but this one nailed it.
