Love the way they captured Picard’s insufferable arrogance!😆 Every sympathy to Captain Hunter!
Thanks, quite an old one this but we had fun making it. Giles was a good laugh. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. :)
Very cool! Loved the bit with the sonic screwdriver.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. And glad you loved the bit with the sonic, I thought it would be a fun gag, and tip of the hat. :)
This one was very well-done indeed. It's a little odd (for me) that everyone has a Scottish accent. But, I suppose, it's not more absurd than everyone having an American Accent.
I think most of us are so used to American accents in media it seems like the default, so I do get the slight disconnect. We’ve tried to add a bit more variety in accents in more recent films. :) And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. This film was a bit of a train wreck, production-wise, that it actually turned ended up with a mostly coherent narrative was a relief. :)
That was really enjoyable! Guess I'm a bit late to the party but it had a classic Trek vibe!
Aww thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah this is an old one for sure. Would like to think we’ve gotten a bit more polished since then, but the audience would be a better judge than me. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. :)
I enjoyed that, thanks
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it. This is a very old film, and while we’re proud of it, it does have a lot limitations, not to mention things we’d do differently. If you’re so inclined, please check out some of our more recent efforts. :)
In a way this fanfilm is a reminder that books are the real treasures of the world and perhaps the entire multiverse when you think about it 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚!!!!
Yes indeed! Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching. :)
A VERY nice job with the video.
Thank you! We made this almost 20 years ago and was our first foray into film making. It has lots and lots of issues, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid you are welcome
One nitpick: The first officer's brogue is REALLY strong; I find it almost impossible to understand her; and the captions aren't really helping at all. Which means you might want to upload a new version with spruced-up captions; I'm finding it very hard to follow.
Sorry you’re struggling with that. This particular film is over a decade old, and to be honest it’s quite unlikely we’d revisit it any time soon as we’re concentrating on several other films right now. I’ll look into it though, and if we can update the subtitles on this file at some point we will. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid Thanks. It looks like the subs were automatically generated. There's an earlier episode in the series that I just started watching, Heavy Lies The Crown, where the subtitles are dramatically superior so it looks like those were generated manually. That's probably what you would have to do here.
I just wanted you guys to know that after watching a few of your videos, I’m subscribing. As an American I kind of have to tilt my ears to get the accents just right but I’ve also been a Whovian for forty years so it’s not that hard. I’ve been a Trekker since TOS first aired. It’s sad that the big studios have strayed so far but it’s heartening that fans are not. Keep on Trekkin’!
Thanks Mark, really appreciate that. And thanks for the kind words. Fanfilms are kind of a niche within a niche, but for those of us who love them they’re the best hobby. Always a joy to hear that someone has enjoyed what we’re doing. More to come from us later this year too. :)
LMAO! Thanks, folks!
You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching. :)
240p???
Unfortunately yes. We shot this nearly 20 years ago, it’s a product of the time, and the decisions we made at that time. :)
Awesome!!!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant Nick! 😊xx
Aww thank you. This is quite an old one, we’ve come along a ways since then. :)
"It's for Tranya"... OMG!!! Don't tell Clint Howard.
Loved your use of the same locations; really well done! You captured all the charm of the film !!! with one small exception. When they return to 2379 with the two stuffed whales, that probe will go on to destroy the earth and everyone on it. Ooopsie! Seriously this was really enjoyable! Thank you!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. We had a blast making it, all credit to our director who put all the work into researching the various locations. Definitely worth a visit, and hopefully we’ll make it back there one day. :)
Oh a Charmander! 😉
how about you guys do a crossover next involving the USS intrepid and a imperial star destroyer
Fun idea. We actually have a lot of stuff in both pre- and post-production right now, so no room on the schedule for anything like that just now. But maybe in the future.
So good he even got picked up for the TNG porn flick 😁 which unbelievably has a good plot.
I remember that well. :)
thanks guys, this really give me the feels.
Thanks, so happy you enjoyed it. Was there anything in particular you enjoyed?
this Nick? it was the first film i saw at the cinema, so.... its a great way to create nostalgia and fun.
Haha I love it and the runner hitting the ship was nice
Thanks for watching, very happy you enjoyed it. We love the movie, was great to visit all those iconic locations.
YES!!!!!!!! Both ships have made awesome episodes. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
Hope we don’t disappoint!
Excellent.
Here’s hoping!
Glad it's still going
Never give up, never surrender. ;)
Can't wait for that!
So looking forward! I miss this. It's the birth place of D'Gor, who is now a Brigadier in the Klingon empire! 😁😁 CO IKV Rising Phoenix CO Rising Sun Fleet We are looking to make some fan film ourselves. Perhaps we could do a cross over.
You too are missed Alain, maybe one of these days we’ll stand on the same continent again. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid if that happens... we need to film something together!!
Excellent.
Thank you, hope we don’t disappoint!
This looks so cool. Now it's going to be hard to wait for this.
Im looking forward to watch this when it comes out
All due praise for re-creating the original setups so wonderfully. But I don't think that Farinas guy has much of a future as an actor. ;)
All credit has to go to our director/writer/cameraman George for this. The film wouldn’t exist without his efforts, and he did all the research and legwork. As to Mark, I would love to have him and Ryan write something for us. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid Danged right, you would. Their webcomic is an integral part of my TOS canon. Extraordinary storytelling.
Wrapped! Well done, all. Also, let us know if you make a MakerTube account. What with all the current YT nonsense.
Wow, that sky cleared up in two seconds...and then clouded up again just as fast! Gotta love Scotland!!! :-)
Story of our life. :)
That was sad, but a good storyline.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
I’m guessing the footage of san francisco is green screened or old B roll from several decades ago. Even a major film company wouldn’t have the budget to clean up the cesspool the democrats have turned it into. Good video.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. No greenscreen, we were actually there. Nothing cesspool-ey about it actually, it was lovely. :)
I love that the Captain got to see his beloved, beautiful, plucky, adventurous dear friend once again!! To me, THAT, truly, is a wonderful treasure…all in itself!! I’ve lost family & friends along the way, who are no longer here with us. To see them once again would truly be a bittersweet experience, blessing, & s treasure all rolled into one. But, knowing that we’d once again have to part ways would truly rip my heart into a million pieces. I’d end up blubbering, sobbing, crying, because those I’d loved & cared for, including my beloved & dear pets, would have to go away again. I’d be ripped away from them once more. Watching this wonderful, touching episode has turned me into a waterworks factory; I can’t stop crying, because this episode was so beautifully written and acted; & it brought up so many memories of my beloved & loved ones, that I’m crying!! I’m hoping our wonderful Captain can meet up with his friend again & again & again. I just don’t want that meeting & experience he was allowed to have wasn’t a one-time thing.,,& that his friend can come back & stay. If my loved ones can do that with me, it would help heal my heart. Please say this isn’t the last we see of her, or our adventurous treasure seeker. I’d love to have a series with them as the stars of the show!! Thank you for this!! I’m going to go off, grab my teddy bear, curl up in a ball in my bed, & have a good cry.,,,,
Thank you so much for your comment, and for watching. It means a lot to know it touched you so deeply. I try to wrote stories that touch me personally, so it is always a joy to know someone else shared that experience. While there are no immediate plans to revisit those particular characters, both actors will be back again playing different roles in upcoming productions. And in the future, you never know. :) Again, thanks sow much for watching, and for your lovely comment. :)
What an excellent, exciting, fun, cool, wonderful series!! Keep them coming😁😁
Great story and excellent performances all around. The sneakers on Frances were immersion-breaking, unfortunately.
Glad you liked it. Yeah there wasn’t much we could do about the footwear at the time, we just had to go with it.
It wouldn't be a Star Trek Fan-Film without shenanigans...
You can always tell who has a problem with shenanigans. One look at this video and I knew the entire cast was infected.
True that!
theres always shenanigans!!
Quite!
"Singh Singh". 😄 Loved the over-the-top Kirk appearance.
Was that guy on the bus the same guy from the ST4 (the one with the whales) ?
Cute
Thanks!
Almost nailed it. But in the light of Discovery, and woke PicHARD...... I give it 5 out out of 5. :) The others....1 of 5. Or if I could, -500000
Sorry I missed your comment earlier, glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. :)
Almost 15 years later, and "What the fuck is Andorra?" is the one that sticks to my brain from that outtake reel. (Mainly because of my regurgitation of Wikipedia facts about said landlocked teensy European country. :D ) Also, sci-fi is ABSOLUTELY escapism. It certainly helps me!
Yep, probably our funniest gag reel. :)
This has a Star Trek IV vibe doesn't it? I thought so. Well done.
It does indeed. And thank you!
Is the Hawaiian shirt doc based off of scotty. I feel like he is
He was actually a bit of an homage to Hawkeye from MASH. :)
Very nice story, very well done. This could be the focus of a series.
Thank you, and thank you for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it. :)
Sweet clip lol
Great fun!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. :)
She should've offered the crew some jellybabies.
I do love a jelly baby.
Just curious, what size is the jacket you have on?
It’s a medium.
