This is the most postive video I have found so far. Thank you for pointing out to only compare ourselves to ourselves. We always hear everyone is different, but it made a huge difference to hear your reassurance that way. Thank you
You are a lovely and very helpful lady. I am 64 years old and have so much prolapse and will have a partial hysterectomy soon due to many fibroid tumors. This video was so uplifting to me. I subscribed and will watch your other videos. I look forward to feeling better. Thank you, dear.
Hi, Jessica. I’ve just found your videos while doing research in preparation for a complete hysterectomy due to uterine cancer. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and expertise, because to date my only resource has been the doctors who will be doing my surgery. I have bad uterine and bladder prolapse for several years, and have been using a pessary for about a year. Not the best solution, but it has made me much more comfortable. I’ve fought the idea of this surgery for a long time when it was elective, but now that I’m diagnosed with cancer, I have no choice, and I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I thought the surgery would cure the prolapse, but now I’m told I can still have prolapse after the surgery, which is a horrible thought to me. I asked if the prolapse repairs could be done at the same time, and was assured it could, but today I learned my urogynecologist doesn’t think I need this and he can still manage my symptoms after the surgery. My feelings at this point are that I don’t want symptoms after the surgery, and I don’t want to do another surgery down the road to correct the prolapse. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed to hear this and I plan to pursue it further. My surgery is on 9/27/23 so I have a couple of weeks to try to work out something. I have had a fear of the anesthesia, too, especially since I’m 76 years old. I’m really concerned it will have long term effects on my abilities to think clearly, so I really appreciate your insight on this. Again, thanks so much for your videos. Your point of view as a patient especially is very helpful and comforting to me, and I wish you the best as you continue your healing.
Thank you these videos. I have learned more from you before and after my hysterectomy than my Dr. It's like you are a friend who is there to talk to me. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you for the video. I am two weeks post hysterectomy and cystocele repair. Like you I had the bulge which I was terribly conscious of and it was awful but my big worry was that my urethra was kinked or under pressure so it was actually hard to urinate. Surgery has so far been wonderful in that there is no bulge (hooray) and I can pee properly for the first time in about 5 years. I was concerned that it could go the other way and I could be rushing to the toilet but so far so good. I am off all painkillers and moving around OK but having to take it easy obviously. It is so important for people going through this that people like you make these videos.
Thanks for sharing. Even two weeks after you were still taking it easy? My husband keeps telling me how his female employees have come back signing a week or two post hysterectomy. I was hoping I’d feel as well as my husbands employees did so quickly. I know everyone is different but do you think it truly took you the full 6-8 weeks to feel back to normal? Thank you!
I am going to be 50 in May and had bladder, vaginal and rectal prolapse repair surgery done on March 18th. Hearing your recovery story was very helpful. Recovery has been a rough road and this was my 4th abdominal laparoscopic surgery (previous oofarectomy, hysterectomy and hernia repairs) so I thought it wouldn't be so tough. Boy was I wrong. I'm hoping that I'll be feeling great a year from now and I'm not kidding myself that it'll be an easy road to get to my normal again. It is so nice though to not feel that awful pressure already!
I am having most of the surgeries you had. I’m so glad to have found you! Your information is priceless because it’s nearly impossible to get this quality and quantity of information from either our urogynecogist or even one’s pelvic floor therapist! Thanks for the warning about the forums. I know that the main patients posting are women having bad experiences and they can be so frightening for those of us for whom POP surgery is in our future!
I was STRONGLY suggested to have hysterectomy about 12 years ago. I thought that doing hysterectomy was way too aggressive. I felt like Dr. was selling me very invasive treatment for her own financial gain. She did not tell me any side effect or any other way to treat just because hysterectomy is the only thing they offer. Instead of any kind of medical treatment, I eat healthy, did exercise and try to minimize stress. Here I am 12 years later, I do still have some pain during the period because of the fibroids that I have but I am totally OK without medical treatment. Before you do anything unless emergency situation, try to change your life style and see if that will help you.
Thank you so much. I had a sacracolplexy and posterior repair 9 months ago. Had seen the specific fisio and she did some internal release on pelvic floor muscle, which is a lifesaver I have told her, and now am having body stress release therapy. I have had a difficult journey, not knowing if it is the tight muscles or a prolapse again and my bladder is very irritated most of the time. Your story is giving me hope because everyone seems to think I am fine after 9 months but I can feel my body isn't. I also got advised no heavy lifting ever again. I still have a long road it seems because I still have discomfort every day. Thank you for sharing
I can so relate with what you are saying about not remembering what normal was pre prolapse and post surgery. When people asked me if I’m doing well now. I’m afraid to say yes.
Thank you for sharing your story and being so honest. I have been living with a prolapse for 17 years and my lovely GP is referring me on after trying to deal with it conservatively and failing. The fear of surgery has kept me from going forward but now feel empowered hearing your journey. Thank you.
Thanks for this video. I am 18 days post prolapse surgery, and am looking for specific information in what to do and what not to do in terms of physical activity,
I had a partial hysterectomy with sacral colpopexy and prolapse repair for cystocele, rectocele, uterine, urethricele with bladder sling, and bladder prolapse, and a vaginoplasty to remove excess tissue at 34 after two vaginal births, 3 years of breastfeeding, and multiple years of pelvic floor PT. I’m 40 now and the mesh elements are holding strong and are well healed and flawless. The tissue based repairs have deteriorated some and I have revisited my urogyn and will be pursuing additional repairs in the next two years but I’m hoping that biomesh will be available for me by the time my body tells me it needs to be done.
Thank you so very much. I am grateful to have found this information. I am about to undergo all of the procedures you had done. I have a surgeon I trust and I am very much looking forward to having this done. Thank you for all the details.
This is great. Thanks. I saw your videos in the last. Glad I found you again. I think we had our hysterectomy happened around the same time. I found you after though.
Thank you so very much for sharing all you do. It is real, authentic and very comforting. It is a journey while I’m recovering from my hysterectomy and your knowledge and caring helps so much!
This video has been extremely helpful. I was looking into it because currently I am going to the bathroom 40 times a day (increases by about 10 during cycles) and having constant pelvic pressure. I wanted to see someone else's experience with prolapse and hysterectomy. I'm currently 15 and it's just annoying and painful from how bad it is hurting. Considering my uterus is already protruding outwards, I will most likely have the surgery. I am so glad I came across someone who lived through it.
Hi, I’m 18 and currently dealing with what I think is a cystocele prolapse, have you gotten surgery already and if so how has it been working out for you??
@@W23177 no, I have yet to get the surgery because they refuse to "steralize" a kid. Even though my bladder, rectum, and uterus are prolapsing to the point of being debilitating or potentially death. We are going in this Wednesday to find out if the surgery is gonna happen or not. Have you tried a pessary? Those are said to help quite a lot. For me, since they have protruded past the opening they do not work. However, if put in early enough it can relieve symptoms and it is non-surgical.
Thank you for this honest video. I want to have a Hysterectomy in about 7 - 9 years to have permanent birth control and to not have periods anymore. This was very interesting.
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I didn't have a hysterectomy but had rectocele repair 14 days ago. I was not offered the conservative option before surgery. My biggest scare has been thinking I can't care for my children. Have 4 kids, my youngest 2 years and 8 months old. I'm feeling so much better after watching your videos.
Late to the party for this video. I’m so glad you’re feeling better, and able to do what you do. 👍 I had the trifecta 5 years ago at 65. Hysterectomy (no ovaries removed…they still help with hormones), bladder prolapse repair, rectal wall repair. I was a psw, and moved, lifted people in bed, into wheelchairs, etc. Gynaecologist said this definitely lead to a lot of my prolapse. Plus a awful birth with my last child, 37 years ago. Lasting effects from that. Was pretty horrendous surgery ….and yes, at 65, it took a long time at my age to recover. Pilates helped me tremendously. Now at 70, so glad I had the surgery, being able to do all the normal life activities. Under today’s current situation. The one good thing about Covid, is I’ve been able to do pilates daily, which has strengthened me so much. Even though I was retired, wasn’t as always as diligent in my exercising. Love your forthrightness, and honestly. Enjoy your exercise videos very much. And, you have helped this older lady with arthritic hips, do the round down/up with props, not feel guilty for doing so. That I’m not “cheating”, but rather modifying for what works for me.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience 🙏 I’m due to have this done next month and your outlook on life after surgery is exactly what I needed to hear to manage my expectations xx
These prolapse videos have been so helpful 🙏🏽 thank you. I’m Looking forward to getting in the groove of the exercises you recommend being someone with this condition.
I have just been diagnosed with prolapsed uterus and cystocele and rectocele and your videos have been incredibly helpful. What advice would you have for me in choosing a specialist? Did you choose a Urogynecologist to perform your surgery?
I am overweight and my hips are wide. I’ve heard that taking out the uterus will make you hips wider. I definitely don’t need that! Has that been the case with you? I am considering a partial hysterectomy due to a uterine prolapse. I am 51 and I imagine I am close to menopause which is why I want to do the surgery. Have you seen any big physical appearance changes?
I have my hesteregtomy done 4 month s ago they took my uterus and ovaries removed cos. I had tumor on my ovaries if ldid,nt save it I I would died. It,s so difficult for me co's. My blood group is Ne(B_ ) so but I thank s a Lord for his blessings and for my child
I am so thankful for you’r channel and you’r honesty.🙏❤️ It helps me a lot. May I ask, how was you’r painlevel after surgery ,did you have a lot of pain ? I had a prolaps and a cystocele almost 10 years ago . And had a vaginal op. Only a month later ,I felt something was not right and took a mirror to see... I se something bulging out inside.😱and waited for my proplaps op to heal completely before I sent to see a gynecologist. It was my back vaginal Wall he Said ... and they did nothing about that . I was recommended pelvic floor exercises. Sometimes I haven’t been able to do them cause I can’t feel them ,and quite frankly I didn’t feel they helped me much . And after a while my muscles get tired and couldn’t do them anymore . So now and again I have had problems like last year ,and I have a reocurrence of cystocele ... but they still wouldn’t do anything . They are afraid of using the mesh here where I live in Sweden, and so was I prior to hearing this .😍 They told me ,that I am a too young candidate(58) and it’s mostly used on elderly people due to assuming they are not having sex ... 🙄 Because It can be really painful and for some almost impossible, even if that was the reason for the op in the first place ,to be able to have sex. In my case I have during this time always had trouble with bowlmovement, and now I it’s worse because I now also have a rectocele... I discovered this ,when I couldn’t put the vaginal estrogen pill in my vagina far enough... just coul not get my two fingers in very far ,there was a bulge there ... did not understand why .But I have figured this out myself . I am scheduled to, see my gynecologist in a month ,but am afraid that he won’t be able to perform the examination... If you can’t get in there what do you do ? I was even recommended by my gynecologist as a way to keep my vaginal walls healthy, a dildo, when I asked what I could do myself. But even that seems out of the question now. I live alone ,and have done so for years ,but just the prospect of never being able to have sex again ,is devastating . I wish I had known about a Uro gynecologist or a womens psysiotherapist before. I took my gynecologists opinion as the final Word . But It’s never to late !
Thank you for all your videos and recommendation, question :is it normal to have some abdominal cramps and abdominal muscle tightness after hysterectomy and prolapse
Can you use the hysterectomy program after a bladder surgery? Had both surgeries at different times. I'm 6 weeks after bladder surgery. I've tried to reach out with my question, but getting no answers back. I'd like to buy it, just want to make sure it's beneficial for post bladder surgery. My surgeon said I do not need pt to work pelvic muscles after surgery. I think I do. Had I done them after my hysterectomy, maybe my bladder would not have fallen.
Hello madam I'm watching ur video bcoz I just done my surgery for uterine prolapse my question is when u done surgery is that prolapse can come back again thank you waiting for ur reply
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am a week after my histerectomy because ytero prolapse. It is hard to heard about the process that you did before you went in to surgery because even that I went to a urologist too he said that I do not have a blader prolapse. However here I am a week after surgery feeling pain on my obdomen and presure in the vaginal area. So I dont know if I had to have a suport to my blader too. Wonder if tou had the same sensation of pressure 😢 because that pain is the pain that I struggled before surgery and don't wan it for the rest of my life. Thank you very much for your answer.
Hi Jessica I watched your Endo video. I suffered endo pain too in my youth! It was unbearable. I hv 4 stage endo. Had 1 surgery. I am in Perimenopause, now. For the last 6mths I never felt any pain anymore during my Period. I take anti-inflammation Supplements like BeePolen & Tumeric. IDK whether those truly helps the inflammmation then reduce the pain or because I am in Perimenopause.. 😁 My hormones have calmed down..
When you say bulge…. What is that and how does it feel like? When you say bulge is that the stomach bloated and heavy mess in lower stomach? I’m always bloated and have rectal prolapse.
You kept your ovaries that's wonderful. Do you feel as if your hormones have stayed the same? Or do you feel they changed at all even though you kept them? I'm having a hysterectomy in a week. I'm keeping my ovaries thank goodness but I was just curious if the hormone aspect changed for you at all?
Hi, I just found your channel and loving the information you provide. Sorry for asking late, I had a total hysterectomy three months ago (removed uterus and cervix, preserved both ovaries), the reason was deep endometriosis. My question is, as you mentioned you too have endometriosis, don't you take contraceptives yet to control estrogen levels? (reason is that I keep taking progesterone only pill, which effect libido) How you deal with that? Thanks
Best of luck on your recovery! I stopped taking birth control pills 17 years ago and never started again. I do with a naturopath and hormone expert to get my hormones in line!
@@brendarios2552 ok. It's like this. They remove the uterus through the vagina in both cases. If they require laproscopic viewing its pretty much going to be laproscopic surgery. Robotics assisted most likely. At least in the US
Thank you for sharing tour experience! It's been very helpful to me, I feel more confident about my upcoming surgery. I too will have pelvic floor repair and hysterectomy and like to keep fit. Seeing you be successful is encouraging!
I'm here because of endometriosis I have 3 kids and my tubes tied. I'm highly considering getting a hysterectomy And keeping my overies. But your saying I can still get pain? I'm confused.i can't afford to have this pain I feel like I'm about to give birth once a month 😩🤮 when on my period 😭
So, obviously gluten-free and sugar-free diet doesn’t help to treat endometriosis either? :( that’s very disappointing to know. I got my cyst removed 8 months ago and now they’ve found another one. I was hoping that proper diet might help.
Do you recall how soon after your surgery your husband if applicable expected you to prepare dinner? It’s been one week today having the same procedures and hubby is asking if I have plans for dinner. Ah. No.
This is the most postive video I have found so far. Thank you for pointing out to only compare ourselves to ourselves. We always hear everyone is different, but it made a huge difference to hear your reassurance that way. Thank you

I'm glad you are feeling better!
Did you ever have a pessory ring for the prolapse? I'm hoping to be able to get by with that since I am 69 yrs old.
When you say bulge…. What is that and how does it feel like? When you say bulge is that the stomach bloated and heavy mess in lower stomach? I’m always bloated and have rectal prolapse.
I am just curious . You are Pelvic floor PT and still wenr through prolapse. Why and how? AKing because I recently had my hysterectomy.
I learned so much from forums though. But it’s also been harmful to my mental health and anxiety.
I do with a naturopath and hormone expert to get my hormones in line!

were you able to choose from having surgery laparoscopically or vaginal? If so, what made you go the laparoscopic route?
Laproscopic is still vaginal uterine removal
@@allywolf9182 hmm... I was told I can do one or the other. I know if it’s vaginal they still need a laparoscopic view.
@@brendarios2552 ok. It's like this. They remove the uterus through the vagina in both cases. If they require laproscopic viewing its pretty much going to be laproscopic surgery. Robotics assisted most likely. At least in the US
Your amazing
Thank you for sharing tour experience! It's been very helpful to me, I feel more confident about my upcoming surgery. I too will have pelvic floor repair and hysterectomy and like to keep fit. Seeing you be successful is encouraging!
Do you know if I can ride a bike again after hysterectomy?
Like long rides...
Once you are totally healed and your Doctor releases you. I only ride casually around the neighborhood but I was riding again after 10 weeks.
I only have one ovary and I still feel pain. I do regret getting my surgery.
So, obviously gluten-free and sugar-free diet doesn’t help to treat endometriosis either? :( that’s very disappointing to know. I got my cyst removed 8 months ago and now they’ve found another one. I was hoping that proper diet might help.
Do you need a catheter after a procedure like this? That is a fear of mine.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Runnings bad for your knees anyway ;)
Do you recall how soon after your surgery your husband if applicable expected you to prepare dinner? It’s been one week today having the same procedures and hubby is asking if I have plans for dinner. Ah. No.
talking to long so boring
