Thank you Jessica. I feel like most of what I’m dealing with postop is anesthesia effects. I’m so tired but with no real reason. I don’t feel like myself at all. Kind of regretting having it done at all. My doctor didn’t talk about any of this. Thank goodness for you.

Hi, @melaniej.roberts206 How long after surgery did you write this comment still having anesthesia affects and regretting the surgery? How far from surgery are you now and how are you feeling? Are you feeling better now? Do you still regret it? I hope you are doing better.

Thank you for all your posts about having a hysterectomy and this one about anesthesia and constipation. I found a trick to help with constipation in order not to hurt myself after my hysterectomy surgery in order to 💩. I'm not sure if you have heard of it but, it worked like a charm...it's called Moo to Poo. Sounds funny but, hey it worked.

Great video with very important information!
My latest surgery lasted about 3 hours. I was very fortunate to only have a few weeks of recovery and didn't notice any anesthesia effects.

Hey there! I'm thirty-seven. Hope that this message finds you well. I will be having a partial hysterectomy at the end of March since my ablation was a failure last year for chronic anemia. For over a year I have required iron infusions with pre-meds every week. This won't be a cure, but at least it will stop period bleeding. Thank you so much for your videos!

What it works for me to prevent constipation
I used a laxative twelve hours before my surgery and I didn't have any trouble because of the anesthesia.

I don’t remember anything from when I got wheeled into the OR. All I remember is being told that I have endometriosis.

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm getting my first surgery ever next month and I'm most scared for the anesthesia. So in your experience, you never remember getting slepy or drowsy or aything once they gave it to you? It really did feel like you were wide awake and then suddenly *bam* you were instantly waking up? Was there any chance you could have fought it and stayed awake or was it truly impossible lol! Thanks again for sharing your experience! It's helpful!

That is so wrong that it takes that long to get out of system. Maybe a week, definitely not a month. Be cautious what you say please.

I felt nauseous after my abdominal hysterectomy and threw up in the middle of the night, although i hadn’t eaten anything all day. Apart from that, i didn’t have any other side effects.
