    Excellent comparison, I like the Voicelive better.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong but is the hard tune in the voice live play require you to have the accompanying simulations on when being used?
    I ask because in this vid it appears that the C1 is hard tuning your single voice and sounds cool that way but the voice live play is also hard tuning but only when you had harmony accompanying effects on which is bit of an over top processed hot mess that would be more suited for a cartoon voice overdub!
    Thanks for the video

      No it does not. It can be a stand alone effect. You can create and finetune any of the settings.

      Hey I really appreciate the info
      I've got a Voicelive play electric but it's in my storage right now and I've been watching a YT blues busker guy using the the C1 and it's awesome so I'm inspired to try it out as I really don't have the bucks right now to buy that other pedal
      Yours is the only vid on RUclips doing a valid demo on this feature of the VL play units like this
      Praises to you!
      Thanks again!

    which one do you prefer? I think for the money you are best off buying the voicelive play because you get so many other effects and presets and a looping capability!

      thanks for the vid !!! Both sound good.....crazy. Can you do a tc helicon voicelive touch 2 as well ??? I saw in a manual it had the Kanye west effect which is dopeeeee. These are cool too. Maybe try singing in some dark travis Scott tunes I can send a melody to you and you can sing in it to test em out ? This was really clear though thank you so much for the upload bro !

      The Voicelive 2, yes possibly , can't make any promises at the moment. The Voicelive 2 looks pretty advanced compared to the original. Also double the price tag.. I might be able to get a deal on a used one, we'll see thanks for the suggestions.

    QUESTION! does the voice live play have options to choose specific notes within the key you’re singing in? Sometimes a simple C major or c minor is missing a few notes with my songs. Thats why daw autotune plugins have the piano 🎹 display selection. thanks!

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  Год назад

      Setting the Key on the TC helicon just kind of sux. It seems like it is global=meaning (In larger main menu) I think whatever note you are closest to it pulls it n that direction however on the menu function you can set the Key Sig. In the Harmony section. But then when the Harmony efect is clicked off.. I am unsure if it is still on that prticulr Key because in the actual pitch correction menu, there is no key, just type, country gliss, natural etc.
      But nothing down to the actual Note.

      U can set the key scale on the harmony setting, hardtune on and on the harmony section just turn down the level and select the key scale u want

    does it do major and minor on thr voicelive? that was my main drawback from the c1

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  2 года назад

      There is no particular indication of major or minor or key in the specific Effect Box for hardtune. Which sucks- there is Global Key Under settings where the algorithm allegedly figures... Under Harmony you can choose a key.
      Now running over the manual to jog my memory i think A or any Note indicates Major. So
      A =AMajor/F#Minor
      Or
      C= CMajor/AMinor
      The major and Relative Minor. Not sure if I said that n the video or not???
      I rarely set the Key and check/fix it in the Autotune on my DAW where i can see all the notes when editing.
      It is a drawback as it does not indicate it on the pedal at all.

    Is the pitch correction on the mic mechanic pretty similar to this? I make electronic/chip tune style and I ordered the mic mechanic with the intent of cranking the pitch correction to the max in order to get the robotic sound

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  2 года назад

      Probably similar. Well the voicelive has several types of pitch correction so i would guess itd be similar to one of them when cranked, either Pop or Natural. But I dont own it so i cannot say 100%

    So in short the Voicelive play only have "hardtune" while C1 is more flexible? Thanks. Helps a lot

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  2 года назад

      I would say the opposite minus the key choice. The voicelive has several "hardtune" wave stlyes like country gliss, natural, robot, etc. While the C1 obly features the basic hardtune style that can of course be modulated from light effect to heavy. Although u can also modulate everything on the Voicelive.

      i would say so, i had the voicelive play but since you can’t set the key on the tune (just the harmony) it can’t give you the same effect that you get from setting your scale

  • @jamesbrown-bp6mf
    @jamesbrown-bp6mf Год назад +1

    The c1 only have major keys ? Which one would you prefer for recording?

    • @newcastlemusicstudios
      @newcastlemusicstudios  Год назад +1

      The major keys all have relative minor keys. So Dminor would be Fmajor.
      So the scale for both is there.
      I think the Voicelive play is superior in functionality and versatility.

      @@newcastlemusicstudios What's up man, wondering if you ever figured this out..I have a TC Helicon Play Acoustic-not sure if this applies to that unit as well, but the chromatic pitch correction seems to be off key in some aspects (I'm a decent singer but chromatic doesn't seem to fully correct my pitch. Wondering if setting a key would help) Thanks in advance
