    Sweet Clod Buster!
I have always wondered how long the stock black plastic Tamiya axle tubes will last when used with aluminum gearcases and without the stock steel Tamiya axle trusses in place like that. All of my Clod Busters and Bull Heads have aluminum gearcases made by JPS but they also have JPS aluminum axle tubes because I was always worried about breaking the stock plastic parts when attaching them to aftermarket aluminum parts. (Plus the JPS aluminum parts look really nice all together!) Unfortunately, too many of the aftermarket aluminum axle tubes, including those made by JPS, cannot accommodate the stock steel axle trusses and I really wish that they did for extra strength. I would have definitely used them on my truck if the JPS axle tubes had the mounting holes and flat surfaces for them.
Once again, fantastic Clod Buster and thank you for sharing it in a video.

They last for a good while surprisingly. And I did put the stock steel Tamiya axle trusses back in place but it was after I filmed this video. Yes the axles definitely need those lol. And thanks a lot I really appreciate that.

Nice Clod dude!! I see you noticed too how the suspension "wobbles." I've built four Clods - All with the same suspension links but two with 8 shocks and two with only 4 shocks like yours. I noticed the 4 shocks don't give as much stability as 8 so I'm planning on experimenting with the ball ends of the links by adding some blue thread locker to stiffen things up a bit.

Can you attach the links out at the end of the axles? Might eliminate that sway

How long ago did you order those gear boxes. I'd love a pair for myself.

Almost a year ago. He still makes them but he makes them in small batches so you just have to catch him when he's making some and have the cash ready. When he sees youre serious he will get them out to you very fast.

    They don't make aluminum axles?

Not sure about axles. I doubt he does. He used to make axle cases I think but I didn't ask. I just wanted to get the hardest part to find out of the way first and these aluminum gearboxes are kinda hard to come by for the Clod unless you get in direct contact with him.

You can find aluminum axles on eBay for the clod buster

@@pattyofurniture5674 You guy's must be talking about the axle cases that the axles sit inside of. Those can be purchased in aluminum but you cannot find aluminum axles for a Clod. Only aluminum axle tubes. Two different parts. I just like to be specific and accurate on the names because this is an informal page and I don't want people to get confused.

Yes Hesse Machine does make aluminum axle tubes and so does Hot Racing and Integy
