Recently found your channel and have been binge watching everything, I got my first E46 a little over a week ago and I have been cramming all the knowledge I can. Your content is great, presentation and personality as well. Thanks for all your efforts and humor mixed in.

I changed my VANOS pipe, but I recommend the Chase Base pipe. Much better for not too much more money. Also, instead of the OEM oil filter mount gasket, try a High performance DuPont Viton synthetic rubber gasket and be done with it.

I’ve replaced this gasket twice in my 2year owner ship second time it was leaking so much oil left a puddle in my drive way 😪

Great video and channel sir. Just did the oil filter housing job on my 2005 Z4 M54. A little aggravated my manual didn’t have torque specs for the 6 housing bolts. Tightened them-all down nice and tight mindful of not stripping them. Also this job gives you appreciation that replacing an alternator on this engine is fairly straightforward as you have to remove it as your video states.

Yes sir, I did mine a few years back it gives you a great opportunity to get into the engine bay and give it a good clean. Also if you buy a 10 year old or more E46 this is a must do.

Thanks for this! I’m about to do a big maintenance / overhaul and this was on my list. Missed the vanos oil line though!

Hi mate, I just bought my first E46, it is a 330ci 2002 auto.
Car looks good and it was ruining pretty good but 4 days after I bought it, it starts to idle funny, I went to the mechanic and he told me to start with the PCV valve. But he charged me 750 dollars.
I like play with cars and I was thinking about to do it myself.
    Have you done it before?
Do you reckon it can be done by a non mechanic guy?
