@@straightshootah7550 that's straight wrong, I'm sitting at 6.6k and the items you get depends entirely on the game, if you always buy the same items regardless of if you need them you're wasting gold.
Video is perfect. The most interesting thing is that you realized despite the advantage you acquired from a good lane, you identified that void was still a threat to you and you never over extended in an attempt to kill him. You identified that you needed an item to kill him (basher into abyssal), and once you did you were effectively unkillable. At THAT point you took over the map and herded the enemy team where you wanted them, but you let your team do that for you before you purchased the abyssal.
3k players have good mechanics, but dont play to get objectives and over extend quite often. That's the points to get better if want to get out of this bracket
Used to hover between 3.5-4.5k by just playing mid. I started following bsj and switched to carry offlane and sometimes pos 5, now i'm sitting at 5.2k and learning. Very good content man
The Tips he is giving are good but this Game was a bad example. He was able to absolutly free Farm every single lane and Camp. His Tier 1 Tower were completly in Tact and he was completly save on his side of the Map without worrying about any Treads from the Enemy Team. If you get such a game than i dont need to be a 9k MMR player to gain MMR. I'd like to see his reaction when the ods are not playing into his favour. When his teammates lose their lanes and his Team gets 5 Man run at. Cause thats what mostly happens.
@@ricoamir4405 I'm not doubting the first 5-8 minutes of the Game. But having a completly free game where your Team Wins every lane. But the Game in General was in his favour. And thats why i think this wasnt the best example.
They will regain it back along the way, the system always forces a 50% win rate for everybody, and eventually they will be faced against opponents weaker than them.

How come the creeps don't agree you at 5:29? You're attacking the SK right there and they aren't reacting edit: Until the game clock reaches 5:00, lane creeps cannot be aggroed by player units, unless the lane creeps have enemy lane creeps, or neutral creeps within their acquisition range, or they are within 1500 range of their tier 1 tower. After that, lane creeps can be aggroed by player units unconditionally.
I don't really play Dota anymore but I occasionally check out these videos to get an idea what modern Dota looks like. That said quality content aside, I am very impressed that BSJ can constantly commentate on the game while playing. My ability to concentrate on the game and execute would be completely disrupted by my need to accentuate my thoughts in a cognizant and concise way. To be able to convey thoughts at such a high level while focusing on the game (not just these smurf games but also his regular MMR games) is something definitely special and a talent.
im happy to see someone admit that most brackets in dota are solvable just by picking pos1 jugg... on another note, how do you rank up as support when your pos1 jugg is continuously feeding and not doing anything described in this video is a whole nother topic that is more interesting, and challenging.
Really great format; going through the decision making throughout the game is an extremely helpful way to learn what we should be doing during diff stages in the game. Plus, we get to see some of your other vid concepts applied to a more tangible scenario :)
This is fantastic content, please keep doing this. I was literally wishing BSJ specifically made this kind of content right before you uploaded the first episode. My prayers have been answered 🙏 Best Dota 2 content on youtube. Period.
Carry players take note on how much BSJ prioritize his own farm, his own game. I say this cause a lot of carry players (and players in general) focus too much on improve their overall game, and even when that is not bad, it'¡s not the best approach. I think we all agree on that "everything is easier with items", so instead of focusing on early farm, mid games items, teamfights, late game decisions, we just should focus on be as efficient as possible during early game. It's not rocket science: having an average 16 min BF on AM makes a whole different game for you that getting BF at 18 min average. The percentage of games that are lost cause of bad early game is higher than the amount of games that are lost cause of bad late games decision. Going back to the BF example: if you have a good early game as AM the transition into mid and late game would be way easier and it will be hard for you to throw the game cause you have items to survive and enemies are very likely to have a hard time dealing with you. But instead, if you still struggling to be efficient during early game, you will lose way more games just because of that, because during late game the enemy team will have way more tools to deal with you just because you had a BF around min 18 instead of min 16 or lower.
@@shanudocter BSJ is top 30 in NA, game was over the moment he queue. My point is that early game is the most important part of the game. If low MMR players focus primarily on improve that, they will climb way faster than if they try to improve mid and late game decisions.
It comes down to practice + concentration. You should try to focus as much as possible on last hitting in the laning phase, really put your mind to it. If you're auto piloting, half ass playing or whatever you will miss a lot
Honestly if it were me in your enemy team, I would be more than happy to watch this video and see what I did wrong and why you, jugg, were able to snowball so hard. It's also important for void to understand that he was the only hero that threatened you meaning he could have played it differently. Yes he was killing everybody else on your team but in the end it was you who mattered most. You got 1K gold from killing him. He was "owning". He might be confused and thinking he didn't do anything wrong but this video explains exactly why he lost the game. Very cool, very educational.
Funny is that, on laning stage at the start, this 2 guys just did nothing, just nothing. I don't have situations where people just running away when i wanna hit creep, in most of games i jsut getting pressure. I would to see some game vs veno and one more cancer pick.
@@ordhinv.hohenheim5009 it's just not looks like 2-3k bracket on eu. I know US is a bit easlier to play, but srsly, this game looks like 1k players, insane. Their movement is like on passive bots almost.
BSJ. I felt uneasy watching your laning stage. IMO, you're not punishing the SK by buying a dust and magic wands. In your previous videos, you told us to punish the enemies who are not supposed to be free farming in a lane. But this game, u let SK farm more than he shouldn't have.
I guess that's because he intended to solo carry the game from the start. Even if killing sk would be good for his team, it would be inefficient for his game. I'm sure that in a higher mmr avarage where it was actually possible that sk had impact, he would have pressured more.
He is playing carry. By pressuring SK more, he would have to give up his own farm. Why slow down his own timings to stop a hero who HE COUNTERS? He already punished SK whenever SK crossed paths with him, and everything else was about optimising his timings while pressuring.
Hey BSJ, just wanna say thank you for your educational videos. i think you are affecting alot of people in 2.5-3k bracket. been following alot of your advice, played solo and found 2 people at same team watching your vids and match went pretty well. 5686442275 :D

Yep esp when his team was just feeding themselves to void he was just doing his thing haha, me i would have jumped to that fight and get killed wd my comrades
This is such a good way to look and teach Dota in terms of principles for people that are familiar with the game and are trying to get better. Not too basic but not microskilling over the top. That nice in between Keep up the great vids BSJ
This is really well done series, I like how you have calmed down recently. Been watching a long time and before you always came off as soft of a douche* but you were knowledgeable so I could watch you. But as you said awhile back you and your girlfriend had a chat about that and I think it helped you grow as a person. Your much better at teaching people and talking to people and you don't have that tone in your voice anymore that makes people want to punch you, haha! JK but well done man keep it up.
Most times there is nothing you can do because by the time you know they are a smurf and what their hero is, you are already stuck with a draft that can't deal with them. However, what you can do is: pressure them on the lane as much as possible IF YOU HAVE THE HEROES to do it. Otherwise, you will just feed. Next, stop them from farming - get aggressive wards and smoke gang them as often as you can. Force them to come to fights or lose objectives, in other words - take good fights, pressure towers, threaten Roshan, whatever you can to slow down their timings and make them do anything else but farming. Once you let them get farmed, it's over because you won't be, and you'll lack the skill to outfight them anyway.
BSJ, you have to understand low level players are not expected to act/react/respond like high level players. Therefore, you can't act like a high level carry when your low level team is off somewhere doing something else.
''the threat is stronger than the execution'' its also a really common say in chess, works for nearly all games i guess, at least at a certain level. nice content!
Genius content😊 in future videos, especially carry (which I play), it would be awesome if you could add some comments about “if this was 5-6k+, I would probably do this and that differently... oh well, it is really nice, educational and fun to watch!
i want to see bsj prove these concepts with a difficult hero to do so, such as a first pick sf. the common slogan from high mmr players is "picks don't matter at low mmr" - he even says it in this vid himself. so then if picks don't matter and you can play better to compensate for an unideal pick then the proof would be to first pick something counterable like ta and see whether the 'picks don't matter at all if you play well enough' saying really is true. no shade, im so glad i get to see and hear everything that goes through his head in terms of how to win these games - but i want to know how to do these jobs regardless of if you're counterpicked (first pick ta scenario) or playing a hero that inevitably relies on teammates (sf, for example). imagine how much more difficult this game would have been if bsj didn't have the luxuries that jugger provides.. i'm pressing for this because i know for a fact it's possible - if you put bsj mid in this bracket, whether he plays a first pick ta every game or not, i don't think his winrate will differ much. probably 85% vs 90%. so i'm not asking for this to prove bsj wrong, i simply want to see how this can still be done in more difficult scenarios.
@@Mike-js8ii I agree. I feel like those two distinctions are accurate and are probably enough for them to be different videos for sure. This video was great for what it is , but I too would I’d love to see more examples like op mentioned
yea it's a common slogan high mmr players throw around so they don't have to admit that they are high up there just because of their hero picks. I'd like to give a high mmr player a pos 1/2 techies and "show me how it's done".
@@heavybreathing6696 theres one russian guy who was playing techies mid with decent winrate at about 8k average mmr... in this game everything is possible
I don't really care what the bracket is, but I really like the videos where you narrate all of your decisions and explain why you do what you do. I think a mixture of both basics and some tips like that is really good for me right now.
I think you had a good team to be able to do it with you farming 99% of the game. Most 3k-4k mmr they will let your tier 1& tier 2 fall before min 20.. I'd like to see how you farm when you have no map control..
I thought I was smart about dota but realised you could hit Sand King for free at the start of the game as the 1st wave can't aggro, you never stop learning!
This same shit happens in na higher lvl pubs everyone farming then who executes a better teamfight wins. Eu and sea are total brawls. People just wanna run over each other.
Absolutely amazing content. The kind of content which was honestly long overdue in dota 2 and I am so so glad BSJ you are the first one to understand and execute on this. Thank you so much! Can't wait for more of these episodes. This was brilliant! Liked and subscribed.
Hey BSJ, thanks a lot for the educational videos, they're great and helpful. I can't help but think "Well, this guy knows the game inside out so of course he'll have a great game from start to finish". What I'd really love to see is how you turn around a bad game. For example, here's my nightmare scenario that happens way more often that you'd think. My team straight out feeds (9-1 in the first 5 min), my support is clueless and I play against a competent off laner and an even better position 4 (something like LC and Lich). I can't farm in the laning stage because they are always on top of me, and I can't even think about moving to the off lane because that's where their fed carry is farming, and their position 5 is on point and all that. My only option remains jungling after 5 minutes (bleah), but that will gradually end because the enemy team is invading my jungle, my triangle, everything. I'd love to see your thought process in that scenario. Disclaimer: I don't want this to sound like "My team is always awful, I shouldn't be in this bracket". I deserve my rank, but I'm trying to figure out how to rank up without depending on my team. Basically, if my team plays at least decent, I can apply the techniques you show here. But I'd like to learn how to turn games around, and I think that's what will ultimately get me out of this bracket.
I think BSJ how you lasting the creep is awsome make some video on that a new video with new techniques which help low MMR player to learn how to secure every creep in lanning phase so they don't lose any farm most of the time you are a force on the last hitting and secure every CS so your item timing is so good to make time so fast to it hard to kill you. it also depends on player game sense how they play the game in different conditions. smurf always win with the last hitting the creep in lanning phase
What exactly justifies playing in a bracket like this and especially playing ranked? Why not go unranked or create a lobby with 9 other volunteers, I'm sure you gonna find some? By playing this you kinda ruin games for at least 5 other players, maybe even also for your own team. You are part of the problem and valve should honestly take actions like bans low prios, ... against this and you main account
Man it's almost as if he is purposely playing on different accounts to win ONE game, FYI one game giving you 30 mmr isn't that bad especially considering he's teaching people in the process. I don't even know what your problem is lol.
you can buy a few dust charges for some easy gold for killing SK especially because dust is cheaper than it used to be back in the past so guaranteed kills with dust are making the investment worthy. Great content nonetheless! PS: |Bladefury at the end, right before rubik blackhole was very nice!
It's a shame that I'm Brazilian and don't understand English so well, now I have to pay attention to what you're doing and to the translation at the same time, but it's still great content, do more please.
What server is this? If you're playing at sea they would flame you for not participating most of the fights and they would probably feed and throw the game. Btw, this is the best of the best dota2 content I watched. Very informative. Thank you.
These past two videos have been really insightful and I love the play by play commentary, explaining why you're doing what you're doing. A lot of people can last hit decently, but it's the flow and feel of the game that you possess that is seamless and beautiful to watch. Thank you for sharing!
I feel like this wasnt the greatest example though of what you're trying to teach. Not only did they have no decent offlane duo to even contest the laning phase, but they have a useless rubick mid, and a safelane void that rushed midas instead of MoM MKB so that they could potentially kill you.... feels like this, while your instructions and goals are clear, was the easiet game I've ever watched, and not necessarily because of just "better decision making". Like their team made literally not a single move against you in the first 20+ mins. I do think these episodes are going to be super useful, but this one in particular seems a lot less insightful than the Mars video just because the other team literally handed you a free game. I mean, how often are you or anyone going to level up each min for the first 23 mins of the game? lol there was really no point in which their team threatened you which is kinda disappointing for us as viewers looking to learn, as most of us would agree if you get a free 25 mins, its going to be very hard to lose that game without throwing hard. Looking forward to when you do a midlane video as well :)
I would say he didnt allow the enemy team to pressure him, as he spent most of the time in jungle and if he saw them coming hed back away. he avoided the void like the plague even when he was 6 levels higher and much more farmed.
Cant be applied in SEA where in role queue there is offlane sven or spectre or pos 4 midas furion. and that pos 4 midas furion has over 12k games on his account. BAFFLING

Thats why the ranged didnt aggro him right away. After, WD prob just deaggro since SK was getting away.

To be able to convey thoughts at such a high level while focusing on the game (not just these smurf games but also his regular MMR games) is something definitely special and a talent.
he doesn't do this in his regular MMR games, he precisely did those on low MMR account to be capable of commentating like that
im happy to see someone admit that most brackets in dota are solvable just by picking pos1 jugg...
on another note, how do you rank up as support when your pos1 jugg is continuously feeding and not doing anything described in this video is a whole nother topic that is more interesting, and challenging.

My prayers have been answered 🙏
Best Dota 2 content on youtube.
Bsj had treads and battlefury under 13 minutes delived to him. Game was silently over for these 3k players at that point.
@@shanudocter BSJ is top 30 in NA, game was over the moment he queue.
My point is that early game is the most important part of the game. If low MMR players focus primarily on improve that, they will climb way faster than if they try to improve mid and late game decisions.
86 / 24 CS at 10 minutes. Game over. I'm lucky if I can get half of that.
It comes down to practice + concentration. You should try to focus as much as possible on last hitting in the laning phase, really put your mind to it. If you're auto piloting, half ass playing or whatever you will miss a lot
Yeah it like he farm all the lane creep + 6 jungle creep

Thanks for another informative video that I will definitely use in my games!

Your much better at teaching people and talking to people and you don't have that tone in your voice anymore that makes people want to punch you, haha! JK but well done man keep it up.
Damn, this game looks so clean. Like how do you deal with this? Difference in skill level is just huge.
You deal with it by gaining skill
I came from lol and im like "you're level 28 when the enemy team has a level 14? Wtf"
Loving these, BSJ. Thank you for being a beacon. Thank you too, editor!

BSJ, you have to understand low level players are not expected to act/react/respond like high level players. Therefore, you can't act like a high level carry when your low level team is off somewhere doing something else.
''the threat is stronger than the execution''

But I'd like to learn how to turn games around, and I think that's what will ultimately get me out of this bracket.
these kind of contents are gold,as always appreciate your content bro

I can't get that battlefury timing even when playing against bots :(
Cant be applied in SEA where in role queue there is offlane sven or spectre or pos 4 midas furion.
and that pos 4 midas furion has over 12k games on his account. BAFFLING

Even I wanna know how to do that
If you aa outside of the aggro range you can hit without pulling aggro (i thought you could only hit once, but in this case WD aa twice, in the third aa the range aggroed). Thats why the ranged didnt aggro him right away. After, WD prob just deaggro since SK was getting away. Great tip for getting a small free harass in lane (even with melee, although less safe since you have to walk all the way from the trees to the enemy).
