    Hey all! Hope you get something out of this 🙌 as I mention in the video this is not super polished, but I really wanted to get a video like this out before going away for a while. Cheers!

    Great video, great playing and great tone 👍 when you said at the start you were using greenbacks and was'nt that keen on the sound are they g12m speakers or g12h as the latter were the ones hendrix used and i think they sound much better

      It was on but without the depth or speed up so just the preamp - before that was a fuzz face and after it a little delay 👍🏼🤟🏼 cheers!

    i love your channel and watch your videos, if i may offer some advice on the level of your production value, your volume on your speaking audio is always so low, almost impossible to hear, maybe you could put a mic on yourself, so the viewers dont have to constantly fiddle witht the computer audio to hear your comments. great stuff your putting out by the way. keep up the good work

    • @JamesOnGuitar
      @JamesOnGuitar  Год назад

      Is it like that in every video or just this one? I haven’t heard that on my own iphone or from many other people (maybe a couple of people 2+ years ago) so don’t want to change anything unnecessarily- i can do a poll on the channel. I spend a lot of time adjusting my volumes in editing. But this video was different because i was speaking from my seated position to a distant mic as it was different from other videos. Cheers

    Hey man, great vid, great tone, great channel. I am big fan of your vids, especially their quality. But I would like to point out that maybe its better that you work more on your own guitar skills before doing any lecture vids. Don mean to spread any negativity, just wanted to point this out.

    • @JamesOnGuitar
      @JamesOnGuitar  Год назад +2

      No offence taken - no one is more aware of my playing level than me, and i mention it in every video! Saying that, i’m happy with my progress after a short time and can see that putting my ego on the line a few times a week keeps me learning and progressing reasonably quickly. On top of that I am not too interested in perfect playing in itself, and i think going from comments and messages i get many people find it encouraging to learn from someone in a similar or just a bit better position than them because it feels relatable. If you didn’t get any interesting ideas from the video then no problem, as I said, I hope some people get something from it. It’s certainly making me a better player in relative terms to just keep making all sorts of content, and even if you don’t mean it negatively, I do think it is easier to criticise than it is to do. Pointing out something i already make clear in my videos seems to me like you just really wanted to say that 😅

    • @Ernest-lc1ly
      @Ernest-lc1ly Год назад

      @@JamesOnGuitar Just as a discussion. I think for giving lectures(or any statement you put online), as general, you bare some responsibilities and you certainly don't want to lead anyone into wrong directions. For this I guess you need a more comprehensive knowledge on what is going on underneath and be very careful bout what and how you teach. For example, related to this video, the rhythm of the vibratos and hammer-ons is crucial to sounding good, and not mentioning this in detail will have learners potentially do horrible executions in their playing. But again, great vid, great tone, great channel.

      @@JamesOnGuitarI agree there’s merit in sharing your personal insight. I expect enthusiasts with a few notches down in skill level will find this an interesting perspective, instead of only looking to fully accomplished instructors. Hey it’s fun to mix sources of tuition and inspiration. Loving your confidence these days and offering your take on playing styles mixed with gear reviews/suggestions. Rock on James 👍

    Good work. I don't play well enough to be able to identify the nuances of a particular style. I need someone to point out to me what is probably obvious to some. A soon as it's pointed out it's one of those "of course it is" moments. Thanks for doing this, Jimi was why I decided to buy an electric guitar. 👌👍
