I am having troubles with this notebook by installing a second HDD , the ones that are installed within the CD/DVD drive port. I have installed this kind of things in various other notebooks.
The problem I am getting, is that the drive is recognized and can be used... but at terrible speeds. The performance on the second HDD is terrible. I installed an SSD where the original HDD was and the 1TB HDD included in the caddy, what most people tend to do and I am one of them.
how can i solve this problem ?

Have you tried to upgrade the resolution from hd to fhd? I think the most problem of this model is it's low resolution.

As long as it doesn’t have any problems, I’d have said that’s a decent offer.. my daughter is using it for her schoolwork and playing Minecraft + Roblox, and it’s very speedy with an SSD fitted.
How muche the sizez of the lecteur 9mm or 9,5mm or 12 mm cuz i have the same laptop but i dont know the size right
You ideally need to measure this yourself.. mine may be a slightly different chassis eventually though it’s the same model.

may I know if you know the caddy size of Lenovo v110-15ikb?
No idea, but it’s always best to measure it yourself in case it varies even in the same model.. you never know what the manufacturer has changed between batches.
I tried adding the HDD as demonstrated even the Ashamoo setting but sometimes my HDD appears and mostly it disappears. I am unable to find out a solution for it. When attached to external sata casing and plugged via usb in the laptop it works perfectly.
It can misbehave with HDD power settings.. like ones than spin down to save power. There's a switch on the caddy which you should try in different positions to see if that helps. There's also software that can toggle the power mode on some HDDs. You could try a different drive too.. it can be brand-specific. I'm using an SSD in mine.
@@Endpoint101 I put in the native hdd which came with the laptop in the caddy. I have tried the switch in all positions and the software you mentioned in the video was Ashamoo hdd 3 which i used. Inspite of this i am having this issue of disappearing. Any solution would be appreciated

I deleted all the stuff including windows 10 and repartitioned it again, however, there were files that I couldn't change such as Lenovo files etc. Anyways it did not work. I wonder what will happen if I buy a new fresh hdd into the caddy.
I have a caddy that I was going to try installing but I’m concerned there could be a problem because it doesn’t appear to have the metal tab protruding at the back in the middle. Any advice?
Edit: I just noticed on ruclips.net/video/3KUGzUApZo4/видео.html that the metal tab/flap can be unscrewed from a Lenovo G510 CD drive. I have different Lenovo laptop models though. Is the metal tab/flap removable on all models CD drives?
If I put the hdd with windows 10 installed on the caddy , will it appear on the boot menu ?
I have replace hdd in 510p with ssd. It work perfect good. However last week, I replaced the optical drive with the originally hdd. There is occasional blue screen saying dpc watchdog error！ This force me to fall back the optical drive！

hello, ı have the same laptop but my laptop crashes when caddy plugged in? computer does not boot or improper booting occurs. do you have any solutions?
Just the caddy on its own (i.e. no hard drive installed)? If so, maybe try switching the power mode switch on the side of the caddy to see if that makes any difference.

There wasn’t any extra slot in mine, no. It doesn’t hurt to take a look & see if your model has anywhere to put it.
What's the size of your caddy sir? Is it 9.0 mm or 9.5mm?

Most will be fine to upgrade like that.. you just need to get the correct caddy size for your laptop & make sure it’s definitely compatible.

Don’t think you’ll have any issue with compatibility. The Samsung SSDs are generally great, Crucial are good too, and a bit cheaper.
