Dr. Golpa was an instructor at the California Implant Institute's free implant program in 2013. He's one of the best doctors I've ever worked with.

Wow! It's you. I stumbled onto you video today. I'm half way through my implant process, I've run out of money, and I'm trying to find some alternative. A year ago I watched your videos and was really impressed with your honesty and helpfulness. Thanks. You convinced me there is no easy, or cheep way to replace ones teeth...and be happy with the results. Every where I look I read horror stories about once you get started, things can change, stuff you weren't informed of, extras, extra costs, etc. For me, I bit the bullet and went to a very good, and very experienced dentist. He is so through and professional. Nothing is left to chance. We've explored all the different methods, snap-on, all-on-4 or 6. I showed him ads from Bankok and Mexico. We talked about everything, and how prices compare. The bottom line: you get what you pay for. But, if I'm not happy, we re-do it. This guy makes sure I understand what I'm getting before I get it. He takes photographs, and tells me to bring in pictures out of magazines of people smiling. "Show me what you want your teeth to look like." He's really good, but he's not cheep. Here's what I'm paying. I had all my upper teeth pulled and left 10 teeth on the bottom. One of the bottom teeth has to be replaced at some later date. I'm getting 6 screws into the bone, which will carry 11 teeth. mostly in front and on the rightr side mollars. I had to pay $3000 for a sinus lift / bone graft. So far, I'm looking at $24,000 total. He says they will be just like real teeth. and that i'll be happy or we will redo them until I'm happy. I feel Iike I've got a lot of confidence in this dentist. He tells me he's the one who fixes bad implants that others put it. He shows me photographs of some of his patients teeth he's had to "fix." There are some real clowns out there. So....I'm saving my money to get this project finished. I had no idea it was going to be such an ordeal to replace my rotten teeth. I guess I should have flossed more! Nice to see you again!

I hope everyone who reads your comment votes it up. This is a good example of quality care. No, it's not cheap. If you want a dentist to help you explore the MANY options available to you, keep you informed and as involved in the process as possible, not rush but really take their time in caring for you..... it costs. It just does. There's a lot of work involved. I didn't understand this when I first began my journey but more and more I am seeing what is involved. Yes, there are some bogus dentists out there that will get whatever they can out of you and give you shoddy work in return..... but many dentists work tirelessly to to give you proper care..... and that costs! I'm glad you understand this and I hope others are informed by your comment. Thanks a bunch, good luck!

Cherise - I don't know why you are so negative on someone you know absolutely nothing about. And why do you think I am too ignorant to put up with anyone who can't deliver 100%. You don't know me very well. Do you read the messages to kalinjax? I've written her several times.
The person I am currently having my dental work with is far from being a sleazeball. Before he ever looked in my mouth I asked him where he went to school. Do you ever do that, And would you know the better dental schools? He graduated from USC. Here's a piece of information you can have. Anyone who granduates from SC is considered very good. He also worked at a dental office in Century City. I don't know if you've ever heard of that place. but that's the heart of show business in California. He told me of several of his patients you'd might have seen on TV. I don't think that educational and work background qualifies you for "sleazeball" status. We are about half way through the upper jaw process. As soon as I get more money, I will go back for more work. I have to pay as I go. I'm not interested in financing the work from the dental credit places. They are really expensive. My business is very slow right now so it's taking longer than i had anticipated. Does that mean the dentist has me "hooked"? This is the third dentist I've seen since I started the implant process. The first was really unsure of herself by replacing all upper teeth. I told her I would go someplace else who has more experience. The second, I walked out of his office after I told him I thought he was incompentent. What makes you posting funny is you think I don't know what I'm doing. I'm very knowledgeable when it comes to dentistry. I cringe when I see some of these people on the internet who went with the All on four system. You will be lucky to get all on 4 to last 4-5 years. So what are doing. Where did you get your expertise? Answer back, please.

Rob Macfarlane Cherise didn't comment to you I did and I took my comment off as I just felt I made too
many comments. Cherise didn't say any comment just did a plus to me. I just know many dentists
(and animal vets) take their patients for a ride money wise.

I appreciate you making this video. I went through much the same thing. It is extremely expensive and there are all kinds of hidden costs. I knew nothing about implants and had to "wing it" like most people. You're right. People need to do their homework. The dentist had no clue about the denture, and I ended up writing the American Dental Association because it was such a botch job. They sent me to a dentist who did a great job, but he didn't do the titanium band! He waited until it was all done and then told me I'd need to fork out another $7000.00 for a new plate down the road when this one cracked! I was so pissed! And yes, it cracked, and now I don't have the money to pay for a new one. I had a local dentist do a patch job on it until I can afford something permanent. Also, I was never shown how to maintain hygiene with it, other than using a water pick. As a result, the implants have receded. As a result, it's going to be quite difficult to get a new plate to fit right. What a nightmare. Please please people, do your homework and make the dentist sign a legal paper before you proceed for your own protection.

LOVE your videos! They're so HONEST & give people a chance to ask all the right questions. As a dental implant consultant here in Florida, i'm very thorough with my patients and i hate when they have been misled at other facilities! We give you a price and it sticks around that price, not to mention i go into as much detail about the procedure. I'll definitely be directing some of my patients to your videos. Very well said & put together, love how you kept the bug part in there haha. Anyone with questions feel free to message me!

are you the ones that just write something like 35k on a business card (not even an actual treatment plan) and do it with a straight face? I went to one of them in FL. Literally did not give a treatment plan and it was a combo of crowns, implants etc and the lady talked over an hour and then when I was leaving i asked for the treatment plan she picked up a business card, wrote "approx 35k" and handed it to me. Of course I had to laugh. my husband manages a large car dealership...even they don't just hand over a business card with a price. She literally did not show me any potential "after" type info or explain any part of their process. she focused more on me having several autoimmune diseases and said that made me a risk for implants. I thought i had gone to the place on the commercials- new teeth now- but now i'm thinking it was called nu smile now. it was on park blvd out by the beach in seminole. they were aware i thought i was at NTN..oh well after that experience and being raked over the coals by 2 dentists here (one who now made us have to get our oldest daughter braces bc he pulled a tooth years ago and didn't put a space maintainer in that is 15$ with our insurance...and after all the lies now we get told her tooth is entrapped and can not come thru/erupt without braces. same genius denstist that did crowns and was told there was obviously a significant gap at the gum line and he refused to fix it now less than 3 years later he says oh they need to be replaced. orderd a valplast from the practice and he had just taken over the practice, complained when the partial arrived, said hehated them and neer would hve ordered them (the old owner did it) tried to adjust it and made it worse- was never able to wear it a single day and he refused to re-do or replace it until recently they said they would and then of course wouldn't. i paid for wax ups of how my teeth would look at the end and was told to crown everything... started with #8 root canal (none of the other dentists i consulted said it needed a RCT) but i went along with it.. didn't know they should have given me antibiotics (they are aware i have low IGA and low IGG subclasses and pending plasma transfusions/ IVIG / very PRONE to infections. all I know is #8 never hurt- not a single tooth inmy mouth hurt until the RCT on #8- ended up at the ER from severe head pressure, sinus issues, have been on multiple antibiotics for 2 plus months straight & off and on before that. I am disgusted. so as for hidden expenses I don't think it compares to going thru trying to "save" your teeth and have treatments fail like paying 600$ AFTER insurance coverage for a RCT and crown and find out you arent making it past the temporary crown and now need to look at other options.. at least with full implants you know what may or may not work and how they will solve it. tryign to "preserve" what is left is impossible without an artist dentist with a heart.

OnMyButterflyJourney I am so sorry you went through that :( We are New teeth now but we would always write out a treatment plan mainly for legal reasons as without a treatment plan nobody would be able to do what needs to be done especially with dental implants! We are also not a corporate office mainly for the reasons you stated above. I feel like when companies go corporate they lack quality. I am fortunate to work for three very well known dentists with great reputations & AMAZING patient care and i urge everyone to do research on EVERYONE before you put your trust into them! Which is a shame these days due to other corrupt people. I do hope you got the treatment you were looking for and I can promise you if ANY of us here made someone feel that way, we would not have a job! Honestly even my channel is a personal channel i made (they didn't pay me/ask me) i just met so many people struggling and wanted them to know their other options...i'm going to be uploading other things in relation to cosmetics and even makeup so check it out...but we are in Lakeland,Florida and only Lakeland. We see people from all over the world...Our Partner locations are literally other dentists that the surgeons know and confide/trust in them enough to finish the work and even then, you still come here for surgery. I know you wouldn't have walked out of here feeling that way and i'm sorry that somewhere else did.

    Thanks for your videos KL!
After doing s bunch of research and watched a gazillion YT vids, I decided to go to Mexico.
I live in Tucson and it’s a 3 hr drive to the border. Going to Los Algodones for All on 4 or 6.
My quote is for Zirconia bridges including all extractions, bone grafts, abutments, 5 yr guarantee for 14,600 per arch not including sedation for addition 650 per session. So basically from start to finish around 30,000. I’m going to add in 2,500 extra “just in case”.
The same quote from a dentist in Tucson was between 50,000- 70,000. Not including extractions or IV sedation.
I’m starting a YT vlog in a few days as a before. Surgery date is Nov 1!
    Thanks for your informative videos.

Good video. I have a friend that is getting whole mouth implants done next week. She just has bad teeth, genetic issue. I have bad teeth from not taking care of them and chewing tobacco. So one day maybe soon I'm going to have to do something. Dentures, man idk. Then implants cost so much and looks like it's very painful. Also I have a another friend that he had problems like my other friend where his would just break off. Not rotted or anything but just break. So he had his pulled and got dentures, think he said he was 30 years old. It was before I knew him. I'm going to have to do something soon. Confidence is none, bad breath, worry someone will see or smell. So but thanks for the video, I can't afford mistakes or miscommunicated cost.
The others that posted in the past I hope you come back and share how it went and what it was like and so on. Thanks for the video.

I went for my first dental check up in years last week. I didn't have insurance in the past. After watching all of your videos about dentures, I prepared myself to accept the possibility of getting them myself as well. Turns out that I don't need a full set, but partials for both top and bottom. Surprisingly, my dentist said that the teeth looked good, it was my gums and the bone loss that I'm experiencing is the reason for the partials. My estimate bill for the whole thing will be $4230.

With my dentist they gave me the total bill (something like $13,865) for healing dentures, the surgery to remove all my teeth and it includes the permanent dentures. I asked them if they padded the bill any in case there were complications (since my parents were paying for it) and they told me that it will be exactly the amount they quoted me.
I'm pleased to say that they held true to their word and have not tried to add anything on top of that initial amount. I'm so happy that I finally got my teeth removed and full dentures as my teeth were an absolute disgrace and so many of them broke off at the gum line (fortunately those were all teeth that had already had root canals on them some 20+ years ago so there was no pain from them breaking off other than leaving shards to cut my mouth and tongue) and others above the gum lines leaving shards behind that were cutting up my tongue and cheeks. Even only 10 or 12 hours after the surgery today and my mouth although in a little discomfort from (I think mostly the stitches and the healing dentures rubbing on those stitches because the gums are swollen still) my mouth overall feels so much better than when I walked into the Dentists office this morning.

That's the reason I left my first dentist, the manager wouldn't give me a quote for a full set of dentures. They had no problem giving ne a written quote of $30,000 for a set of snap ins. Funny you say ask, I asked while the dentist was chairside about additional fees, all he said was the girls up front will give you a quote. When I went up front, with the Dentist, he asked them to give me a quote on snap in dentures and regular dentures. I just received the snap in quote. Thre other times I requested Full set denture cost. They never did it, so I left, and never returned.

It seems that all dentists take advantage of everyone that walks into their office. They're the riches and most cold hearted practitioners out there. To get a really great set you have to pay more than what your house is worth. If you can't afford it, you get the worse pair. I have compared what I was given, to what a private offers. Thanks for the heads up on this.

I don't think all dentists are like that. I have a disease where I have almost no enamel on my teeth, and im only 18, the options were to either get each tooth done ($900 each) or have them all pulled and get a cheaper set of dentures. He wanted to go the cheaper route so I could get it all done at once and not be in so much pain. When I told him I wanted the more expensive route, he was worried it Would be too expensive for me and didn't want me to lose all of my money. But on the other hand, alot of dentists are looking for money. But definitely not all.

    • @SweetJoyBG

Fair enough. I too had a really good dentist and it cost me over $2,000.00 for two crowns that eventually got infected (within the first 6 months of having them) and instead of giving me another option at no cost, since it was only 6 months and the mistake was his, he didn't. It cost me everything, the removal of the posts and what was left of the two teeth that were beside the posts. They had gotten infected at the same time and had to be pulled. I was charged for everything, the extraction, the removal of the posts and of course the medication. I was left with a huge gap on both sides of my mouth, which caused my lower jaw to shift in ways that my teeth began to separate. I found it it would cost me thousands for implants back then; it's even higher now, and no mention of bridge or dentures were spoken. Years before I had him, I had dentists that enjoyed drilling my teeth down until there was nothing left of them, and due to that, they had to pull my molars, leaving my wisdom teeth in on three sides. From there the pain is too much to remember and now I have no teeth left thanks to dry mouth and rotting what was left. Now I have a pair that aren't fitting correctly, and need to go for a new alignment. I use to have a beautiful smile. It took me years to grow into my large teeth and when I finally did, every dentist I had ruined them, one after the other. At 57, I am blind, disabled and toothless, hooray for the medical and dental professions. Sorry about the long response.

I think mine was just as long! Haha I do agree that alot of dentists aren't "Good hearted." My dentist four years ago pulled four of my teeth and said they couldn't be saved, which in reality, my new dentist said they could have put a crown atleast. Now I cant chew on my left side at all. It is sad that It's so expensive today, and I Would do anything to be able to chew without being in severe pain. But I've learned to live with it, as I'm sure many other people have.

I know exactly what you mean....oy! I look at food now and cry...learning how to work these dentures and trying to figure out what's wrong so I can go back and get it adjusted or realigned is insane. They said it'll take at least a year to get them finally fixed and fitting right. A YEAR! Well, I need to lose weight anyway so what the heck. As long as I can try to eat my favorite veggies, I'll be happy. I've had to deal with no teeth and terrible food for the last 6 months, so what's another 12, right? lol.

sounds like you got regular dentures, not the all-4-one inplants, because i have to get all of my teeth pulled, and get dentures, the Dr, said i will loose alot of weight in the process, she said that it would take up to six months until my pair of dentures arive, until then i would have to use lenders, nasty!, anyways, i cant afford the all-4-one dentures, they sound so easyto live, with compared to the ones i have to get, it scareds me that i will have too take them out every night.

I brought my own anesthesia for the extractions I went to a dental school 200 an extraction then I got my mother to help me get full implants for the upper and lower because I had extremely large mandibular tori I would have had to have major surgery and it would have had to be inpatient if I got regular dentures. Thankfully I had a great dentist who is right down the road i was quoted 10k and I paid upfront everything is ordered and I am going to get it done the 25th. I have had all my teeth extracted for over 6 months and hoping the implants will spur bone growth my bone degeneration, the doctors wanted me to have implants to keep my jaw from disentigrating.

It's a good idea to find a dentist who will agree to give you a full quote.
An agreement for work that will not exceed a certain figure unless something unusual crops up, is sensible. Many dentists (the better ones, often) will agree to a fair quote based on expected over all costs.
Work I had done cost something more than the cost I was quoted initially. The practice swallowed that cost because they realized that was ethical. They make a lot out of such work so.... that is not unfair.

You could get an implant at a later date but if too much bone is lost in the area over time you may have to get bone grafting which can be very expensive.

Yep, you are so right about that... Every time I meet with a doctor or any professional, I have learned to have a barrage of questions... I also, ask the doctor, what have I not asked that I need to know and what have other people asked that I did not ask... This is an important question, WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??? I learned the hard way that professionals only give you what you want to hear and not what you need to know, until it's to late... Be prepared, do your research... The three R;s of research...

I don't know what doctor you used but everything I paid for in my procedures was quoted and paid for up front and I have not had any hidden cost's at all. By the way I had 25 teeth pulled and the jaw bones shaved and the immediate dentures placed. All with just Novocain. I just sat there in the chair and let them get to work. I did not implants but I did have major surgery and everything done in one procedure and I had paid everything in full all at once. That included all the extractions and the jaw work and the adjustments and the re lines and everything I need to do for the full next year. People need to ask questions and communicate with the doctor and hold the doctor to it. get a print out of the total cost and then make them stick with that.

I live in Colorado, things here tend to be a little cheaper than some places. I paid a total of 4500 for everything and that includes a year of adjustments as needed and the hard re lines at the six month mark. The only thing it did not include was the comfort liners that some doctors use but I elected not to have that done because I have heard a lot about how they only last a short time and they cost a fortune. In the long run you end up paying more for that than you do just getting the perms or the hard relines done. I am in my beginning of the fifth month and there is not a single thing that I can not eat. I am eating everything.

I agree on the anesthesia costs - it's inhumane to deny this! But it is an easy $500, and I've always wondered if they'd do the work after I downed a bottle of whiskey in the waiting room (much cheaper, have a friend drive). You'd think there'd be a cheaper knockout solution, even in pill form or something.

I just had permanent bridges done. I paid $35,000.00 up front for everything. It includes a full year of after care. My advice...go to a real, reputable dentist that specializes in implants and cosmetic dental work. Forget the “big name” “Walmart” type dental places like Smiles and the others. They are chop shops from what I hear...

To be able to get rid of these terrible teeth of mine. Whatever dentures I get are just fine. This is what I can afford and later when I save some money. Then I can get better set. I am 50 years old getting long in the tooth. No pun intended. I will be able to smile. Go to family events without embarrassment. It truly is gift and I am grateful for that.

Why are dentists hit us with hidden costs? Because they are greedy and hungry for money. For them it's a business. You tell them you don't have the money they treat you accordingly and look down on you. In general, and sadly, those who fail in medicine go to dental practices. I'm still looking for a "proper" or "honest" dentist. My mouth is a cemetery.
I am suffering for the past twenty years; went to three dentists; all said to me "don't worry the pain is only in your mind... you don't feel nothing" and they TORTURED me. What a lottery this is. 😢 I am terrified. I need ALL remaining teeth pulled and to get back a smile. Is Mexico a better answer? -Presuming I can get there before the wall is erected. 🤔

With Due respect, dentists aren't those who failed in medical school, who then had to settle to be dentists. Most of us aren't greedy or hungry for money. It is a business, you're absolutely right about that. Medicine is a business. It costs several hundred thousand dollars to go to dental school. It costs at least 8 years of our lives. Then there is the continuing education we continue to take to offer more procedures for our patients. Then if you're wanting to own a practice, thats about another half a million dollars if not more. So in total you're looking at over a million dollars to be able to go to dental school, and buy a practice. Then there is the cost of running the business per year, its called "overhead" thats not inexpensive either. So while you may think that dentists are greedy and money hungry, the cost is justified, its economics. I don't want to sound callous as I do agree, dentistry is expensive but without charging what we charge we would be filing for bankruptcy left and right. I hope that in these past three years you've found someone to treat you! And to others that read this. Most dentists truly do care about their patients, and we hate that its expensive but unless the government steps in and starts regulating the cost of education, the cost of education is just going to go up, and so will follow the cost of dental treatment.

Hey guys could you help me with some information? I am currently considering getting myself permanent implants as I am missing 3 teeth in a row (standing together). I was suggested 2 implants with a bridge for a mere cost of 1200-2000$. What I wanted to ask is just how comfortable am i gonna feel with those implants for the rest of my life? Are they durable? Can they last me like 5-10 years? Is it something that will need to be replaced for another 1000$ in a couple of years or so? And, of course, just how can you eat with them? Can you still chew on chicken bones, for example? Or bite through solid candy? Will I have to change my toothpaste to go accordingly with new implants? Will I need to take special healing herbs every once in a while? Every bit of information is appreciated, thanks

    • @Whalermansteve84

KNIGHTCleric I looked into implants. The part that is most expensive is the screws. U need 4 on top and 2 on bottom. My dentist quoted me $2,500 per screw. It's not worth it. Get a partial.

    • @angelaschaefer5883
      @angelaschaefer5883 Год назад

$2,500 for screw what rip off. Everyone should be able to have the best quality of life. Now realize that nothing is free. My mother is 76. A couple of years ago. The dentist wanted to get partial on the bottom. She didn’t want to do that. So she has four implants on the bottom. The rest our her natural teeth with fillings or crowns. She has had some trouble with failure of the implants. Food getting stuck. Which she got infection. There is a lot more involved than people are led to believe. I will be happy to take my teeth out. Clean and put back in the next day.

HOW MUCH ???? ....I thought to myself that is NUTS .....That being Said , I just had a dear friend come back from MEXICO where she went to get her teeth done at a Cost of $4100.00 .. Her Dentist here in the USA gave her a price of $21,000.00 .. What is sad is the Dentist is a American , he went down to Mexico to help little kids and started doing implants and dentures for adults .

But the real issue isn't that it's money,if you can afford to got to Mexico to get it done you can probably afford to go back.Considering that dentists in the USA are ridiculous greedy bastards to begin with, and since when do you have to tell the dentist where you got the work done it's none of their business they don't hook you up to a polygraph
What does one do when they work with no insurance or horrible insurance like everyone gets in this country,at minimum wage, and have no savings???
Dental is just as important as your primary care physician and in the US (I am sure other countries) a person doesn't get squat for coverage! It is a rip off and robbery! I went to the hospital for kidney failure with my HMO for 500 bucks,my dental bill with implants with insurance...35,000-60,000???!!!

But ,I would want the Custom ,bc they let you choose the style and color.. The Economy does not.. I sure can't.afford $15,000.00!!!!! Wow! Also, do the extractions come included, with the dentures? I think i read where they are $95.00 PER tooth!! Wow! That is more than what the dentures cost! Why would it be so much for pulling out your teeth?? It would come to almost $2,000.00 more dollars cos I think i have 19 or 20 teeth to be pulled! Thanks so much, for your help! I love your videos and your teeth do look amazing! Now I know why!! 1200 is the implant alone.. like her video says there are so many hidden costs. I'm a dental implant consultant and i hate that some people abuse this work. I will quote the honest amount with a crown (tooth) and attachment it's an additional $2000. So for a single tooth it;s about $4000 without any hidden fees or costs. Anyone interested in implants and getting an honest price with no hidden fees needs to call me 855-544-5089. I'm more than happy to help and chat to anyone! I hate places that lie to patients. I've had so many come to me distraught because they thought they were getting a good deal and after the implant was placed they were told it was extra for the tooth! Makes me so angry. So, I'm kind of F'ed for eating crunchy stuff. I ruined those teeth with sugar. Anyway, I thought you might be from Jax. I hope I didn't insult you or your man with my usual stupid comments.
