For real! I just spent 8K on my upper extractions and full denture. Then in 6 months after my bone grafts heals, I go in for implants, which is another 11K. This shit ridiculous. Only reason why Im doing it is because its now not an option to not get it.
even if it's from drug use so what? I recently got my shitty teeth fixed from drug use and not caring for myself when I was depressed, no one should be judged for that if they changed
Mine went bad from being given liquid penicillin back in the early 70s ....im very allergic. Ruined all my teeth....years later now im 52 with THE WORST fucking dentures and cant do shit about it. So now they sit in a cup. And im still miserable. 👎
As a dentist do you and your field of work need to charge so much and deny many due to insurance coverage? Over 2000 dollars for a deep cleaning... that's so wrong. Also, knowing fluoride destroys teeth, why is it so much? Kinda like it was designed to make many go to the dentist and be over charged.
@@frogmaster930 I grew up in the 70's and we were required to get fluoride treatments 2 times a week at school. Between that & all the antibiotics I received as a baby my adult teeth were doomed before they even come in. Now, as an adult, I am on biologics for RA & I took coumadin for almost 25 years (then I was switched to Lovenox. Now I take Xeralto) You can see thru what teeth I have because I have no enamel left. I am one of the patients that would be turned away for cost but, I am also a patient that would need treatment the most. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Fluoride isn't bad for your teeth, it actually strengthens them because the ions are similar. It IS toxic to ingest, though, which is why fluoridated water is bad.
Hi Kali I’m a 35 yr old mother of three girls and my teeth are failing horribly. You are the only person who has given me hope and lessened my depression for a few minutes
I had problems with my teeth for years, I didn't brush them everyday, then one day I looked in the mirror and noticed the bottom ones were getting crooked and had hard plaque on,I used mumble when I spoke to people, or went for long periods without conversing with my work colleagues, they found it strange that I never spoke to them at all.
It sucks when people makes fun of other peoples teeth not knowing why their teeth might be like that. Not everyone can afford the type of dental work like others. If you don't like how someone's teeth looks, then give me the money so I can fix it then. People don't know the struggle of me having worn and messed up teeth. How I get scared to go to job interviews because I know that the interviewer will be looking at my teeth and noticing every detail about it. Appearance is everything when it comes to life and getting a job. I feel like that's why I haven't been so lucky with getting jobs these days. And it sucks. My life sucks. No one wants to have to deal with mouth pain and taking pain pills all the time. That's why I don't judge people like that.
U r so correct! I am going through pain so much. I had my teeth pulled and my immediates in and I have bones poking out. I had good smile at 1 time. I worked hard. I feel on hard times. No job. I had health issues. Severe health issues and health problems. It destroyed me as who I was and as who I am now.
No joke, my teeth just started chipping one day and wouldn't stop. Within a year, most were broken to all Hell. No rotting or anything, they just got brittle. It can randomly happen to anybody.
@@tracyhoffman7227 Just go to a place like Affordable Dentures & Implants, and you can pay for each step separately; The extractions and a basic denture was like $700, then later, go get the first 'permanent' bridge (3 Implants and the real bridge with the neodymium magnets [instead of screws] for about $2000 to 2500) Then get the other bridge done later on when you save that up again. The Dentures won't bother you if it's just a temporary thing. Even if you paid $100,000 for top of the line implants, you'd still need dentures for 6 months+ anyway while the extractions healed... So just go get the first step done...you'll feel normal again.
Yes, I'm almost homeless and barely keeping my kids in a home because I'm scared to go to a interview. I've worked my whole life and now I can't even smile or talk to people. Your teeth and smile is absolutely beautiful.#hopetosmileagain1day
I just watched this video. And this is the first time in over 10 years, I haven't felt alone. My story is so very similar to yours, it felt like you were describing my past. Earlier this year I had finally had had enough. Between the agony, sleep loss, pain meds, and just overall depression from my dental issues, I told my dentist I was ready. It was time to just take all of my teeth out. Fast forward a few months later and the appointment finally happened on Oct. 22nd of this year (it felt like years went by, but the pandemic hasn't helped!). I was in so much pain for the first few weeks, then had to have my gums reopened to have the bones smoothed out and sanded down. This just happened this past week.. I didn't opt for the immediate dentures (just personal preference), but I go for my final impressions tomorrow. I'm so thankful to have an extremely compassionate and understanding denturist, who has made this whole experience more comforting, but it still hasn't been easy. I'm 27 years old, had to deal with losing my job due to COVID-19, trying to raise 5 kids, and I just feel incredibly overwhelmed to say the least. But I am hopeful for a new future, one where I can finally smile in photos with my kids and family, live without consistent mind numbing pain, and actually be comfortable looking at myself in the mirror for the first time in my life. So thank you for posting this. You're beautiful inside and out! And your positivity reminds me to just keep moving forward. I know I made the right choice and I hope once I get my dentures (unfortunately they won't be implants at this time due affordability, but it's good to know it's an option later on!) that I can smile as confidently and happily as you are!
Amanda - wow! How are they going now? How many teeth do you have pulled, basically all of them? I've had 3 root canals and about 6 crowns and they continuously fallout because the tooth underneath the crown decays and then there's nothing they can do. My mom and I seem to have some type of saliva deficiency because our teeth decay like crazy even though we take really good care of them
I will be going for my impressions of my dentures after two to three months cause that's what my doctor told me. I can't afford implants but for the time being dentures will do. In future I will go for implants for sure. Thanks a lot for sharing. It really helps. Lot's of love and luck from India.
Thank you so much for your story. I will have to have my 26 yr old daughter watch this. Might take away some of her fear. I am now 45. Ive had dentures since I was 24. First, I had GORGEOUS teeth. I was that girl that ppl laughed at cuz i would bring my toothbrush to school so i could brush after lunch. Went to dentist every 6 months like clockwork. Then when I got pregnant with my first child, halfway thru my pregnancy, i went to the dentist and complained that my ENTIRE mouth hurt..every single tooth. He looked everything over and said your teeth are beautiful, no way ur teeth should be hurting. Well, had her, then my 2nd pregnancy, it started happening again, so after that pregnancy, i went in for xrays and the dentist was so sympathetic to tell me that my teeth we in fact rotting from the inside out. I had a severe calcium defieciency and there really wasnt anything I could do. I was devastated! That was age 21. My teeth, no matter how much i took care of them, just kept getting worse, and weakened. At age 24, i was in a serious car accident where I went face first thru the windshield, knocking alot of my teeth out up to the gumline. So, I ended up with full mouth extractions and dentures. I was so sad all the time. I missed my real teeth more than anything and this plate on the roof of my mouth was just horrible. Well fast forward many years later and my daughter had the same severe calcium deficiency and right now her teeth are SO BAD that she calls me screaming constantly for years now. The other day her mouth swelled like she ate a gulf ball. She was banging her head against the wall etc. She just wanted to die. I felt her pain. She is such a beautiful girl but her entire mouthful of teeth are unsaveable. Most are cracked and broken right down to the gumline. She dont smile and in constant pain...for years now. SHe was sooo excited to go for the consultation for the implants and left in TEARS because after they told her they were $60,000, she KNEW she would never have them. She knows she has to get dentures but is so young and just dont want them. No matter what it has to get done. She cannot go on suffering like this , eating ibuprofen like its candy, hurricane, ambesol, clove oil, oregeno oil, she has used it all. It's just not cutting it anymore. So come the new year when her vacation time starts over, she is making the appt to get things rolling. I know once she sees her new smile, she will be so happy she did it. I think she just thinks she will never meet someone that will stick around once they know she has dentures. She will. I, myself have always dreamed of getting implants, having my palette back etc. But even if i had the money to get them myself, i would give her the money and keep my dentures since she is still so young and im just used to dentures by now. Id rather she was happy and confident. But, neither of us can afford them so this is the only option. Maybe in the future, she will be able to save up to get them, but for now, Im going to show her your video and let her know its OK! Its not as bad as you think and you will gain so much more confidence in yourself! So, thank you if you are still reading my babbling! I appreciate you and your story! P.S. I also have 2 boys..both have PERFECT teeth. 15 yr old has never even had a sign of a cavity, thank goodness!! :-) P.S.S Having a nice confident smile should NOT be consdered cosmetic and should NOT cost $60,000 to get. :-(
Or turkey is way cheaper. Check out other countries first maybe. But I'm 25 and my teeth are not good as well, because of calcium deficiency as well. I have like 10 fillings and 2 root canals
@Anita Mullaly I checked out the site - thx for the link - they never talk about price - I really hate that 'hollywood white' that they give them - makes it look unnatural - sorry to hear about your tooth - that is so devastating but I guess it will happen to all of us - hope you can find an affordable way to fix it - cheers from Canada
@Anita Mullaly I understand your situation completely as I have had 9 root canals and approximately $35 to $40,000 in dental costs (but had a decent dental plan back in the day) - been dealing with major teeth issues since the age of 12 and suffered insane pain with countless procedures - looking back, should have pulled everything out and spent the money on a beautiful smile - hindsight is 20/20 right - I'm on a fixed income and no extra money now - maybe drive to Mexico if more teeth fall out - been checking out people on youtube who went to Mexico - the whole dental industry is such a money pit - wish somebody could find a cheap solution - I think the Australian dollar is similar to the Canadian dollar - love your country - all the best to you Anita
@@rajalee1016 Yep, the only thing you have when it comes to dental pain is painful dental procedures and a big fat bill in the end only to discover more dental work down the line.
I had a tooth die over the weekend in 1960.. I swear felt like my jaw was in a vice, literally. Like the torque needed to secure a bolt on the George Washinton bridge
man, im 18 now and ive had such a shitty childhood, my teeth are SO bad, im missing both my front teeth, a canine, the rest are filled with cavities and one is like almost completely decayed away and ugh it helps so much to hear your story. Now that ive moved out im now saving up for implants and i really hope i can fix them all soon! ❤
You need them pulled as soon as possible. Google low income dental care. The state you live in and the town you live in. There will be list of clinics to call. They charge based on income. Infection in your teeth can spread. If left untreated it will kill you. Dentures online are much cheaper. You can still save for implants later. The most important thing is your health.
Alex do not pull any tooth! Trust me on this! Prior to pulling any teeth, you need to get insurance from MetLife for dental insurance, they got this $45 per month plan that after 1 year you can be eligible for implant which they cover 50% of the cost! BUT they have this no tooth clauses in the insurance which said if you are missing teeth prior to insurance then they won't cover your implant for that tooth. Hence get the insurance first, and for the first year get your cleaning and gum disease fix with planning and scalping, then after a year work on getting the teeth replace with implant one at a time with your insurance coverage. It will save you in the long run and you may not need dentures which isn't good at all. If you really want to save up money do it for bridge implants that doesn't have that short of fake gums that's shown and doesn't require 6 month removal etc. they are also called 3 on 6 implant that doesn't saw off your bones in your mouth like this lady here in the video. You want to get BRIDGE implants that will allow you to keep your natural gum, they are also called 3on6 implants.
@@Alex-iz4ei You are seven years younger than my son. You are just baby I am not trying to scare you honey. I just don’t want you to get sick. Your health is the most important thing. Granted I am stranger but I do care. I hope you feel better soon. When you get them pulled soup is what you should eat. To give your gums time to heal. Make sure that you have plenty of liquids also. For pain Tylenol or Motrin. Get well soon honey.
I am so encouraged by your story. I’m 53 and need 6 top teeth pulled and bone grafting done. I will be fitted for dentures and if the bone heals well, I should be able to get implants. I was so depressed after seeing the x-rays of all the bone loss. Then the surgeon who evaluated me said “ Well, you know you did this to yourself.” I was pissed! I was already mortified at the state of my teeth and although I know I’ve neglected my mouth care, I didn’t want to hear it like that! Every dental appointment I’ve ever had and every procedure I’ve had done, has always been excruciating. That’s the deterrent for me. Plus, I’ve always associated dentures to old people with sunken cheeks. I know that’s awful! After hearing your journey and seeing how happy you are (btw, you’re are stunningly beautiful!!) I’m ready to embark on mine. Thanks for sharing and encouraging people like me. 🦷😃
Girl thank you for this video! you have helped many people, just by reading all the comments made me realize that my situation is not that bad. I've been depressed and checking my teeth everyday i woke up. Praying for all of you, who lost sleep, have been depressed, are feeling lost, have anxiety due to your teeth issue. Please keep going!
I am literally lying here fresh out of surgery with my healing denture in my mouth watching this. My mouth has been a saga already. This really helped soothe me. The girls in high school were appalled when I spit blood in the sink on a trip when I was 16. Luckily my mom covered for me with a comment about a wisdom tooth. But that still haunts me. Telling a 24 year old who spit out a tooth while eating dinner they have to get a full set of upper and lower dentures is traumatizing. But here I am.
@roseolsson3616 The worst of the pain was gone after 24 hours. The swelling persisted for a few days and then was tender for a week. After that I could start eating non-soft foods. I'm a year and a half out now. I'm saving up for implants now. 😊
I'm 49 years old and I've worn dentures for nearly 20 years. I'm experiencing facial collapse and it's gotten to the point that it's causing me to have social anxiety and major depression. You have a beautiful smile and I plan on using your videos as a point of reference when I see my dentist in the near future. I'm hoping my next set of dentures will look similar to yours. Thanks for posting and God bless you. Share that beautiful smile with the world!😁

That's how it was for me last year too. But I was in my cousin's wedding. The photographer would tell me to smile. I would, but not so much that they seen all of my teeth. I almost not wanted to go to the wedding just because I knew there would be lots of people and pictures taken. But I still ended up going because I didn't want to let my cousin down. She's my first cousin and we grew up together, so I had to attend.
btw I have a 10 yr plan. I will start saving and using all of my tax returns so hopefully on the tenth yr I'll have implants as well. So far it's just a partial. preserving my good teeth for as long as I can. 😉
How can I enter a contest? My whole life it’s been affected me having bad teeth. I love your teeth, I would love to get them done but they are so expensive.
Laura Martinez I’m sure you’ve looked into the things you hafta look into, but just in case you haven’t thought of this here you go: every procedure you go in for will be charged individually. So if when you do need implants, it’ll likely be a step by step process (especially if you need bone grafting) and you pay per procedure. That’s my plan. So far I’m looking at two molar implants. Eventually I’m gonna need front teeth too... my orthodontist didn’t keep a good eye on my roots and they were almost completely absorbed by my bone. The only thing getting me thru this is knowing I’m not alone and that I don’t hafta pay all $10k or however much at once.
And I LOVE THAT YOUR TEETH ARE NOT STRAIGHT ACROSS IN THE FRONT BUT THE TWO FRONT ARE A TAD LONGER AND THAT MAKES A MORE NATURAL AND BEAUTIFUL SMILE! DENTIST NEED TO LEARN THIS!
The dentist does not make the implants and/or dentures. That would be the job of the dental technician (wich I happen to be). It's ok to not know that though, since most people will never really meet one. It's a creative job and lots of fun, but will raise a few eyebrows when you say you make teeth for a living.
You are so transparent and honest. I truly appreciate it. I have six dental implants that I had to dig into my life savings with no insurance, in order to finance them. That wasn’t easy. I just recently had dental surgery at the age of 36. I was able to save the majority of my teeth, which I am grateful for. I knew I didn’t want dentures because I previously researched pros and cons of dentures, and I knew from that moment that I wanted implants. I didn’t want my jaw bones to wither away. Like you, I had a love for junk food over the years, particularly soda. And I paid the price. Keep up the videos. They are inspiring.
Oh I just hate to hear that, sweetie...same here. All the holiday pics with my kids & grandkids, and I'm the only one not smiling. Save up your $, try to get a supplemental dental insurance (makes a HUGE difference), and work toward getting your smile back! It'll change your life! I wish you all the luck in the world!
Elizabeth Reynolds My Mum was taking photos of my sister & I, when we were at Disneyland in 2015... she told me to "smile bigger", just like your photographer... I fainted & broke my nose 11 years ago & as a result, my septum split & blocks my left nostril passage. Much later on, we discovered a link to me having acquired a mild case of Bells Palsy, from when I fainted & damaged my bone structure. The muscles in the left side of my face (the side I hit, when I fainted), were damaged too & appear to not be as strong as the ones on the right. It has given me a "lazy eye" & when I smile, the left side of my mouth doesn't curve up, it curves down, so it looks like those theatrical masks 🎭 half sad, half happy. It broke me, when my Mum said, "Smile bigger!!" because I couldn't. I said, "I literally can't!" & she just laughed & said "Sorry, I forgot." 😔 I also have dentures (top & bottom) & I'm 34. They're only partials, for now & I feel like they will be full dentures, soon. I went through a similar situation with my teeth health... + started smoking when I was 16, never really drank soda, but because I have Inattentive ADHD, routine things don't stick with me & I've never been able to remember to brush my teeth every day. 😔 + In my late teens/early 20's, I was in an abusive relationship (my first ever relationship) & he would make me feel guilty for me wanting to look after myself. If I wanted to do things that made me feel good about myself or to look nice, of course it was because I was wanting to look good for someone else, I was obviously cheating on him. So, among other things, I wasn't allowed to brush my teeth. 😔 I never cheated. I did think maybe I should have, just so at least being made to feel bad, wouldn't have been for absolutely nothing. (shrugs) By the time I escaped that relationship, it was too late for most of my teeth. Over the coming years, I had to get most of them pulled out. Infections have spread throughout my mouth, since & some that were filled back then, need to be removed now. Also, for a long time, I have been too self-conscious (& often, just plain forgetful) to take my dentures out, at night & that's caused other problems. One day I hope to afford implants, so I don't have to hide when I don't have my teeth in! 💛 Oh & so I can cough or sneeze, without my dentures coming loose! YES, that's happened a couple times! 😬 lol
Thank you For your story; it made me feel like I’m not alone. I’ve always struggled with my teeth and at 34 I have to get dentures I actually get my extractions this Friday. I so embarrassed cause my teeth have been so bad and it’s just nice to hear stories from people who went through what I’m going thru
I remember 18 months ago when I watched this; I was doing a little research on implants because I needed me some.Your video encouraged me then to get it done. Today I have 4 implants up and 3 more to come on the jaw. It’s like all the suffering was forgotten after the surgeries. I’m in a bit of debt but it’s nothing I can’t handle. Life is amazing now. Thank you!
You’ve told my story practically verbatim, except my teeth nightmares started shortly after getting out of high school in 1985. I’ve had a full set of dentures since my second son was born in 1993, it’s a constant source of embarrassment for me. Thank you for being a beautiful woman speaking truths about how our smiles effect our lives so much!!
Thank you for this video!! I lost my teeth at 32 due to my autoimmune disorder, an eating disorder, and a pregnancy. They literally one by one dried out and crumbled into little pieces and had to be surgically removed. It was extremely painful, humiliating, and devastating!!! I also thought I was alone in this at my age. Though I don’t wish this on anyone, it’s good to see that I’m not alone, and that like in your case, this is a process!! I’m hoping and praying that soon I’ll be able to get dental implants!🙏🏼
Thanks to your videos I was able to work up the courage to get a consultation for All-on-4 implants after not being able to smile for almost 14 years. I had a hereditary issue and had very little enamel on my adult teeth or baby teeth. I had been getting fillings since I was a small child which I thought was.normal. In my 20s came root canals - a total of 8 - and as I hit my 30's my teeth began to crumble like chalk. I also lost my hearing due to illness so I spent most of my time dealing with that. My teeth (that weren't capped) broke down to the gum line as time went on. It caused panic attacks and insomnia and depression . I am now 47 and after learning I am not alone in this by reading forums and after watching your videos, I had the surgery 2 months ago and have no regrets! I'm thankful for the temps and will get the permanent bridges next year. Your videos truly got me past several mental hurdles and helped me find my courage to finally do this. THANK YOU!
I'm having some work done. I hope I can have more done if I ever need to. Well worth paying top price for realistic implants. You have my sympathy for your dental issues
As a dental hygienist I put 100% of my energy into teaching young children dental prevention. Parents are often so neglectful in teaching their children how to brush and floss early in life :( not internationally. I understand from the patient aspect as well my husband has full dentures after a car accident and I have $10,000 worth of work in my mouth. Dont even feel less than the best. You are a beautiful person.
I try to push my kids to take care of theirs. I never had a cavity until i was 17 or so... aren't the worst bit had fillings done by a nasty dentist... just got 4 on one side removed and 3 on other (4 wisdom teeth.).. I'm ashamed and worried the rest will follow and ima be left with done...
I do believe that's part of a hygienist's job because some parents don't even know how to take proper care of their own teeth. I remember seeing a hygentist roll her eyes at me and then I could hear her whispering to another hygienist before walking back into the room where I was seated. I would have rather her been honest with me instead of making me feel uncomfortable and never wanting to go back again.
If you lived in my family you would know that taking care of your teeth isn't always the answer. My mother's maternal side has a history of terrible teeth and they are meticulous in taking care of them. I inherited this nonsense. I've had bad teeth since I was a little kid. I had one dentist tell my mother that my teeth were so beautiful on the outside but they rot from the inside out. And the pain? OMG when they drill on one side it hurts on the other. I had one jerk dentist call me a liar about that one. What a jerk! Then another dentist decided she was going to do root canals. I found out later the two teeth she did root canals on didn't need them and she didn't even complete them. I had to get them pulled because they fell apart as she only removed part of the root. Couldn't sue her because by the time they started hurting she was gone. Disappeared. Vanished. Oh and my roots on my back teeth. Horrible story. They're L shaped so to extract them, they needed to drill and cut. Oh yeah, and the first time I found out that my teeth didn't number right was when my dentist started drilling and I went through the roof the other time was when another dentist had to cut down into my guns and numb below the gumline so I didn't feel anything. Yeah, just brush your teeth and take care of them! I really hate it when dental professionals say that like it is always going to work. I do it so I don't get bad breath. Can't smile though. But yes, teach people how to take care of them if they're lucky enough to not get a mouthful of inherited nonsense.
I just stumbled across this video but thank you for sharing. I'm currently going thru the same thing at 38 yrs of age and it feels good to know that I'm not alone in my journey and there is greatness to look forward to. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for your videos. I am 41 years old. I had to get dentures in my mid 30's. I was so embarrassed. Even in front of my wife after being married to her for several years. My story is almost in line with yours, except my teeth started getting bad in my 20's. I thought or felt like I was the only person ever to go through this at my age. You have proven me wrong. I can't believe how beautiful you are and to not have real teeth. I always felt ugly because of my dentures. Im divorced now and would like some day to find some one else to share my life with. Ive always been worried about what women would think and if I would be able to just date again. However, watching some of your videos has given me a lot more confidence. And now Im wanting to look more into the implants. I actually cried a little bit realizing that dating can still take place and hopefully with someone who will except that about me. I can tell in your videos that you are sincere and that means the world. Im sorry you had to go through it too, and any body to go through it. It was very painful all the the time. I commend you for doing these videos and helping people like me that felt like they was no hope. Thank you, Thank you so much.
As someone who struggles with the decision to pull my first upper back molar due to severe decay, I sympathize with you so much!! Such a sensitive and personal subject to talk about! Thanks for sharing and helping us to think we’re not alone in our battle..
I've had dentist ask me about drugs, until they actual read my chart and saw that I AM A FUCKING CANCER SURVIVOR, brain tumor, radiation wrecked my teeth and then having my 1st child at 30, sealed my fate. I am now 32, and trying to get everything fixed. Finally found a dentist who is working with me, to get my teeth back. I feel your pain, and this pain is a NIGHTMARE that I would not wish on my worse enemy.
im sending support to everyone who needs it. i had years of orthodontic treatment because my lower jaw was in front of my upper jaw. now i learn that i have a crossbite, well actually even my bones developed accordingly. one side of my jaw is bigger and my upper teeth and lower teeth doesn't align. i wont go into details but people forget there are endless obstacles people have/had to go through. for me it was orthodontic issues. imagine everytime i chew there is a huge pressure on every teeth. i hate when they judge such situations. what can i do if my mouth damages itself
I also had teeth, mouth problems during and after cancer treatment. I now have dentures, they look much better but I am still self conscious. I am due to have another surgery shortly and I hate having to remove the dentures. I'm no spring chicken but OMG does it make me feel old. They are the one thing I can't joke about. It's more than a vanity thing, it's self esteem. Dentists are and always have been expensive. This is also a major problem for ordinary people.
I'm glad you are getting it fixed. I shaved down all my teeth 14 years ago for cosmetic reason, I had a beautiful smile until 10 years later the work I got done started to fail. One by one crowns started to fall off and I had to pull because replacing the crown couldn't be done. Now I am scheduled in Aug to do the all on 4 for both both arches. Boy oh boy what a journey my teeth have been the last 3 years
I’m on day 3 after extractions & immediates.. & I’ve never been through anything as rough as this in my lifetime” :( I’m miserable & ready to finish this healing process. If it weren’t for your story & positive outlook I wouldn’t have been able to go through this. Ty 💞
I read your comments. I got dentures 7 years ago, then 2 years ago lost Everything I owned including my identity. I've. Gone 2 years now with no teeth. My face is sinking in and I actually look older than my 60 years. I live solely on SSDI, so no way to save anything to get any kind of dentures. You were very blessed. I've seen many miracles in my life, so I live with that hope. 🙏🙏🙏💖😭😭
If you’re on SSD, not SSI, you should be eligible for Medicare, possibly Medicaid. I would contact a senior county worker, as SSD qualifies you for senior services. I haven’t lost all of my teeth, but I have the back ones and my face is sinking and making huge, deep lines. I understand. Call them and see if your area has any resources to help you. They might know of a dentist who would be willing to work with you too.
You've gone two years with no teeth.. you've lost your dentures, or they don't fit? I'd pinned all my hopes on dentures tbh, my gran never complained and she had them early on in life.. it's not been until the last fortnight I've read about the downsides. Bizarrely up until then it was all positive, ppl saying they were much better off.. but years later these ppl seem to go quiet. Now I'm reading about ppl who can't drink water, kiss their partners, keep them in to eat.. facial sinking/erosion.. I mean I knew my nannas face looked a bit sunken without teeth but I rarely saw her without them, she ate chewy things, didn't complain.. But I think it's much, much more personal when you're the one without teeth, maybe she just didn't complain, I don't know. I don't know what to hope for anymore. Implants here will be around 20k. Never, ever spent anything close to that in my life and I just don't have that money. I appreciate there's so much skill involved, but shouldn't we have better options. I hope something works out for you, it's miserable having this stuff hanging over us.
@@nnnnn1610 try your best to keep your bottom teeth at least, the bone loss usually happens faster there and it'll eventually get to a point where it'll become hard to keep the bottom denture in. Even if it means going outside the country for affordable dental work
Look and see if there are dental colleges near you. They do dentures not sure how much they cost but worth A try. Google your. County Health Department. They may have dental clinic if they don't. Tell them you are disabled without teeth. See there are any charities near you. That give dentures for free or low cost. To people that are disabled.
Thank you for your video. I'm 64 and have gone without a smile for about 20years. I was finally got a full set about 3 weeks ago. It's been a rough go, but I am determined to get used to them. Glad you won the contest and now have a great smile :-).
wow, I feel like we lived parallel dental lives! so glad you are happy and smiling now! it feels great to know I wast the only girl in my 20s who had crumbling teeth. I always felt like people thought I was a drug addict because of my teeth when in reality I had never touched any drugs! thanks for making these videos.
Happycam DO NOT RECOMMEND VENEERS. Especially to someone with crumbling teeth. Veneers are for healthy teeth anyway. Only cosmetic. They are NOT for severely decayed teeth.
The dentist's told me the exact same thing. I've never felt so isolated, then he asked me how long I've been off of Meth. To which I've never been on and paid out of my pocket to prove it with tests. Why do they feel the need to make the patient feel so isolated and be so degrading?
That’s horrible! When I was younger, my parents made me go to a dentist that pretty much started my dental anxiety. My teeth weren’t the best and I always had cavities (still do) and I always felt so much judgement from him. He made me feel unmotivated to care for my teeth the right way. And almost every time he’d say at first that I needed a root canal andI burst into tears bc i was a little kid being told by the person I fear the most that I need more than just a filling. and the whole time he was working I was in pain and terrified and only at the end he’d say it was just a cavity. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I’m lucky that my family moved and now we go to a very good dentist with an awesome reputation. There are good ones out there! You just need to do research and always read the reviews!

I simply love you and how eloquent your video is! I came on RUclips to find more out about dentures and implants, my fiancé and I sat in awe as we listened to your dynamic story, and you tell it so well! Beautiful smile, for a beautiful woman.
Tomorrow is the day! My All On 4 journey begins with my extractions and placement of implants...of course there will be the 3-6 months in immediate dentures while I heal up...Thanks for your sharing your story!
Thank you for this, I’m 31 and starting the process of dentures and it’s been really putting me in some depression. I’m going for dentures first and hoping I can save up for implants to prevent my face from sinking and issues with the bottom teeth. You look great!
SO many similarities in my story. Growing up, my mother took me to the dentist and spent thousands on my mouth...it never got better. Thank you for posting this, I've felt alone in this, just like you had. I got my top about 11 years ago. I have my dentist appointment in 2 weeks to work on the bottom. It's great to hear of your successes in this.
I cannot thank you enough, I was so upset about my dental situation and upset about losing my teeth at my age. Watching your video changed my outlook. I'm so grateful. Thank you , with much gratitude 🙏💛⚘💕
OMG! What I’d give to be sitting where your at with that beautiful smile. I’ve never been able to smile. My story is almost EXACTLY like yours. My first dentist appointment was at 11-12yrs old and I had a bad tooth in the back(drank soda just like u said it was normal for me and we never had money to go to dentist). I’ve never forgotten what that dentist told me that day. He said eventually this will travel to each and every tooth in your mouth..... And it did exactly that! He did a root canal that day. Every single day and week and month I had pieces breaking off when I’d eat. Dealing with Pain after pain after pain and still dealing with pain. It sucks so bad. At 15 the same tooth that u said chipped or whatever in the front. My top front right tooth broke off and I had to get a partial. Got pregnant and had my first son at 21 and that made my eyes and teeth 1000 times worse. I had to quit my job because of the chemicals I was working around. My sons father passed away when my son was 6mths old. I had Toothaches almost everyday. I was dealing with life, meanwhile my teeth just kept getting worse. My mother and father helped me with all they could. I’m so thankful for everything they did do for me and my baby. I finally got a job and was able to save up some kinda money. I then was riding with a friend and got into a real bad wreak, almost lost my life. Hospital told my parents I wasn’t gonna make it. I Couldn’t work for a year. I lost one of my front teeth and a few others chipped off from that. Then We moved to a place in middle of nowhere and then my mother got sick with cancer and so I supported them while going through all of that. My father worked but where we moved to they only had a few things that he could do. So the days he was off I’d work and he’d watch my son. We helped each other. It was a big struggle. Then we moved to get my mother by better doctors and stuff. So I never had money to go to the dentist so after my mother passed away my father and I moved and he was able to help me get my top teeth pulled and a temp denture and that’s all I was able to get. Meanwhile, my bottom teeth were way better then the top at the time I got my top denture. But now, it also spread to each one of my bottom teeth it’s so crazy. Because I can member the dentist telling me u mines well pull out the bottom. I wanted to so bad because of the pain I go through but I already knew I couldn’t afford a top and bottom so I’ve just been stuck with this old messed up temp denture. I got pregnant again and my bottom teeth really got worse. So now, I’m just trying to get by. I’d give anything in this world to be able to smile. I’ve never had that. The day I got my upper temp denture. The man rushed fitting it. I tried to tell him I can’t bite down. But I went home and within that first week a front side tooth came off. I tried super glueing it back in but the bite is wrong so it just pops out. It really sucks but I can’t believe how similar our stories are! I’ve never met anyone with my situation. That’s a blessing to win those teeth and all that. That’s awesome! Thank you for uploading this video. I’m not alone in this world after all!
Hi I feel for you!!nIts the worse thing ever.I have always been on medical aid and fee years ago we stopped due to work on hold coz of lockdown.i went to our dental schools where there's patience working on you for free and I love them the students are awesome. However it is a long procedure but the work gets done.Wish u can find this in your area so u can find relief and smile again.Take care
I just want to say thank you!! I recently have started losing my teeth as a result of poor hygiene and health issues due to a long stretch of Postpartum making the issues worse. I have been so depressed about having to start the process of having my remaining teeth pulled and getting dentures at 35. Your video just made me cry and not feel so alone in this journey. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and making this a little easier for me.
I’ve been reading forums because I’m at my wits end and with my teeth, and that’s where I found you. I’ve had mental health problems and physical health problems (severe GERD) for almost my entire life. I’m only 22. I don’t take good care of my teeth, mainly due to mental heath issues. I had almost all of my baby teeth filled with fillings, and all of my adult teeth in the back are filled, and I believe I have two new favorites in my front teeth. The pain is becoming unbearable and I’m afraid I’ll end up with dentures by 30. You’re videos inspire me to keep hope, because with the pain I’m in now I know if it ever comes to dentures in my situation it will make me happier and healthier, and it won’t be a mistake. Thank you!
your story is my story! I'm literally crying! I'm so frustrated because I cannot afford all of this work I need, I'm a single mom. Your story helps have faith I can have a smile one day and not eat with constant pain.
I’m only 18 and my dentist told me that my mouth looked like that of a 40 year olds. I’m going to get fillings later this month and I’m terrified that all my teeth are gonna fall out. You have given me some relief that even if my teeth get worse there are options.
Thank you for your story about your struggle. I have felt the same as you said you did. I just started getting my teeth fix $20,000 my Insurance is only paying $1500. It’s so embarrassing. It’s nice to hear your not alone. Thank you.
in the process of awaiting my final product. I'm in dentures now after having 10 implants placed (one rejected last week) I have paid 28,000 by literally busting my a** with my landscape and gardening business working sun up to dark adding in tree removal plus 2,500 for anesthesiologist. unfortunately my dentist has not been completely honest he told me what he thought I wanted to hear and I'm 19 weeks post implants still in original dentures that hurt. he knew I was not happy and i told him i deserved for all of the money and days I've spent for him to give me a straight answer. I'm so upset but in the end I'm sure I'll be happy. my advice to anyone investing their hard earned money is too tell them you want an honest answer and timeline and have a contract backing you. your smile is beautiful and you are a beautiful woman!! thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this. My teeth deterioration has been rapid in the past two years. I got denture impressions done the other day. Top teeth will be full and bottoms will be partial. Happy and scared at the same time. Your channel is the comfort and encouragement I need.
So I found out I need to get 3 of my front teeth out yesterday, and I have been FREAKING OUT about it. I'm so glad I found this video, you explained everything and I really can relate on the lifelong "battle". What you said, well lifted my spirits. Frankly, I'm just super stoked for when I can finally smile.
You have a beautiful smile! Your voice is relaxing to hear so you've mastered any awkwardness with speech. So thank you! I am going to do this! I've stressed and struggled for the last year trying to decide this. Thank you honey, I'm 62 and was always afraid to do this, until now. You're an angel!
I am so glad I came across this video. I’ve been in a dilemma with dentures & implants. Dental work is so expensive, it gets depressing just thinking about all the work I need done. Makes me feel a little better knowing there are people out there going through similar situations and I’m not alone.
I just started the same process starting with dentures a week ago and you have made me feel so much better about myself. Thank you so much you're adorable and your teeth are beautiful!
I'm 31 and I need dentures. I want implants so bad. I can't ever smile or show my teeth because I'm too embarrassed. Even when I'm alone and I laugh at something I will catch myself smiling with my mouth open and I will instantly stop laughing or smiling and I'll cover or close my mouth. It makes me sad that I'm too embarrassed to even show my smile when no one is around. I try to never smile at all. I would do anything to have my smile back. I have a similar situation on why my teeth never had a chance. I would prefer to get implants of course (that's my dream) but I can't even afford the temp dentures. Your journey to get where you are now with your smile is inspiring. I'll do anything and everything to save money until I can get a beautiful smile too.
I am going through the same thing, I have bad teeth and don't have a bf because I feel like he will look at my teeth and not want to be with a woman with crooked teeth. I know your pain, we will be fine
I decided last year to go ahead and get my teeth fixed and I went to a dentist to get a consult and before he even talked about his planned treatment he asked how long I was doing drugs. I was floored and I thought he was joking, nope. He said if I wanted help I needed to be honest about what going on. I started crying and I guess I was loud enough for my mom asked to come back and console me bc I was just devastated. I told her right in front of him about what was said. The LOOK on my.mothers face said it all. Long story short: cops were called on my mom and we were trespassed. So I went back to a dentist I had visited only 3 times, told him what happened and he was shocked. He apologized and he reassured me that he could tell my teeth weren't because of drugs but genetics DO play a big role. Unfortunately, my top teeth can't be saved so he wants to do dentures with a denture implant in a year or two. So, as of today, I'm finally getting my immediate dentures on Tuesday. Wish me luck and thank you for sharing your story.
I had the same thing happen only it wasn’t drugs, the dentist kept raking me over the coals for smoking, I smelled so much of smoke, how I could I keep lying to her? My husband smokes, not me, thus I smelled like an ashtray. My teeth were yellow from bonding being on for 30 yrs. I was so ticked I never went back. I cried so hard my husband did stop smoking in the house and in the vehicle and around me at all.
I learned the very hard way that it is unacceptable for a dentist or any health professional to be demeaning or rude. My childhood dentist was a sicko - possibly pedophile - but I have the memories safely locked away where I can't or won't go. I saw him every week from the age of about 8 till I was 16. When I was 16 swore that I would never go back to him and I will suffer the pain silently rather than ever return. By then I was needing root canals. Because he was a family dentist and friendly with my folks, it really wasn't easy to just find another dentist and I didn't know how.
Your teeth are beautiful! Thank you for your story. I'm 65 and knocked my front teeth out at 10 years old. Over the years, living at the dentist basically and replacement bridges, I am now having to get dentures. Very traumatic really. Hearing your story has been so helpful! Thank you!
OMG Thanks for sharing I'm 24 and im going through the same thing. I needed this hope to hold on. I'm working on getting my teeth together but i dont know where to start.
Do yourself a favor and go to a university hospital dental clinic near you. They are a teaching dental clinic, and each dentist-in-training is supervised by a dentist/professor who will do the majority of the work. Not cheap, but much more reasonable than private practices who have to pay rent and staff. You will get an honest opinion of what can and cannot be done. Good luck to you.
I was just watching this out of curiosity. It made me realize how lucky I am and how much I respect you. It may seem like nothing to you but you are so dang tough! Thank you.
amanda sedell ... Believe me , if you've taken any sort of good care for your teeth , brushing three times a day , flossing after meals etc. it's not your fault . It's the American dental associations fault for being responsible for putting flouride(a known bio hazard)in our toothpaste , mouthwash , and drinking water !!! It's not your fault . People in the old days didn't need to visit dentists and for the most part , kept their teeth to a ripe old age . It is a myth that people lost their teeth at 30 years old back then ... On the contrary , they usually died with every tooth still nice and tight in their jaws . Flouride is responsible for destroying bone in the mouth and throughout the whole body and they knew this in order to get money for extreme dental procedures . They owe me my teeth back and they owe you your teeth back too ! It's not your fault
me too. I grind my teeth, so my teeth have become worn. And I need fillings and root canals. It's so depressing. I'm glad I'm not the only one going through something like this. I wish we all had the money to get that perfect smile.
Same here love.. I feel a lot of hope after hearing stories like hers. People make fun of bad teeth but they wont make fun of obese people or people with diabetes, even though most of chronic teeth issues are out of our control :(
Finding your channel has been a big eye opener! Your story is very very similar to mine. I will be 52 this year and I have never had good teeth. All of it being my fault. I am wanting to fix my teeth but there are so many options, so many opinions… I feel good about getting dentures after watching a few of your videos. Im going to go back and watch them all but I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make this and other videos!!! Your Awesome!!!
Thank you Kalin for your courage and desire to help others. I am much older than you, but have had a lifelong battle as well, and rarely smiled despite being a laughing type person. Brother pushed me on concrete at 14, snapping off 1/2 my L front tooth. Big gold cap, then ugly, yellow, mismatchef one till when I was 21, married with 2 kids by then & thought that was great, despite being 1/8" longer than other! Finally, same "bad teeth/cavity prone teeth" I found out after becoming a nurse was a bacteria that some families pass down (DNA)&finally after being overdosed on prednisone for severe work related asthma that they overdid so badly my vertebrae burst. End career, bedbound,& the big metal fillings in my whole mouth were stronger than the teeth, snapping off at gumline &I'm forced now to face needing them out. (Even lost out on singing career in my teens because my teeth were so unattractive & I couldn't afford braces or dental work till it was far too late). SO, 5 kids, 14 gkids later with rare pictures of me smiling & staying behind the camera, I have no choice, though they say I NEED implants due to tiny horeshoe shaped arch & extremely high pallet & issues that reg dentures will not seat&stay. I need 25 extractions, several broken off at gum line, but on disability medicare theres no coverage I know of. I was going to go to Affordable Dental but tons of videos by Shotgun Autumn saying how terrible where she is has me super scared. I want a beautiful smile like yours, but you are young and pretty so can't go too far wrong. Anyway, God bless you for encouraging others even if I have to work up somehow. Put braces on all my kids and rebuilt my oldest son's same issue mouth with rest of my money and he's getting married next year with his gorgeous confidant smile so its all worthwhile. Take care honey and best wishes for your future.
Happy to have run accross your video and your story! As I sit here...AT THIS MOMENT, I am wearing the economy top denture! I wanted a beautiful smile as well and could not afford implants so yesterday, I had all my top teeth pulled and wearing the economy (cheapest) denture! It's really hard to eat right now and I can't taste things very well with this on my pallette? I hope I can someday do better than what I have now! I don't know what the future hold but I know I am very depressed right now and pretty much feel like my life is OVER! Thanks for sharing your story
Honestly I am very happy that I ran into your page cause as it right now I'm going through the process of extraction. I felt very familiar with almost everything you was saying. You gave me a lot of hope. And waiting for the rest of this teeth to go bad is just prolonging the process that I have to go through in order to get better and healthy life. Thank you for your time I will always remember and appreciate this video
God bless you for being a true inspiration. Someone that is as beautiful as you , that opens up as let’s the world see that anyone can suffer from poor dental hygiene. You have made me determined to get my smile back . thank you so much I will never forget the day that I found you online 😉.
This is literally my story. From the sensitive bleeding gums putting me off dental hygiene (i remember being at a sleep over and spitting blood into the sink and feeling so embarrassed) to smoking at 15 and then chipping that EXACT tooth at 18. Went in and got it fixed. But was relentless shamed by my dentist the whole time so i didn't go back for soooo long. I started this process personally a year and a half ago. Had to wait a year for dental coverage to kick in. And then i got engaged. i get married in August of this year and i knew i didn't want these nasty teeth at my wedding. So i started the process and will have new teeth in june. From an amazing compassionate dentist. Im freaked out but also so so so hopeful.
Thank you for your story. I’m young and just scared. It’s so much money and takes so long. Everyone just says “I just brush my teeth” and it doesn’t help. I feel alone. I’m so glad I saw this.
For those of you who are considering getting all-on-four (or any prosthetics for that matter), here's a tip... The reason her teeth look so good is because they're made from some type of acrylic... vs zirconium, which is very popular now days due to its strength. However, I have a double all on 4 made from zirconium and I hate the way they look... they're one dimensional and flat; there's no translucency whatsoever. Zirconium teeth are usually cut with from a single chunk of material by a 3-d cad printer. Because it's a solid piece they can't really get that layered look that natural teeth have. They can lighten or darken the shades of white but that's about it. Acrylic on the other hand is naturally more translucent. It's also moulded rather that cut, so they can add layered colors to achieve a more natural look... My temps were acrylic and I loved them... very disappointed with my final zirconium set... they're also very clicky when you chew.... Here's the caveat: zirconium is practically indestructible unlike acrylic which could chip and crack over time and have to be repaired more often. I suppose it's a trade off... but cosmetically speaking, acrylic looks way better in my opinion (just look at her amazing teeth). It's also a few thousand $$$ less expensive than zirconium...
@@tonyo5207 that's what I have now actually a zirc and porcelain combo... they look (and feel) great, but one of my lateral incisors just broke completely off... so back to zirc until repair's done...👍
I had 9 lower removed yesterday. So much pain. Enamal literally fell off my teeth due to medicine. My bottoms don't fit. ( I know 15 hrs out of surgery) but I look like I have buck teeth. I had bone added and 4 implants put in. But I also have torids and this immediate is cutting my gums so bad. Good luck to you. The lady doing the video I'm so jealous off. Her teeth look natural. I've always had perfect straight white teeth until this darn medicine
@@danlivni2097 I still have no bottom teeth. They want to add 2 more implants another ($5,000) to try a different plan. I've already paid $20,000 out of pocket. Now 5 of my top teeth are literally falling out of my head. I had the first 6 crowned. They look beautiful because they're actually my teeth. I'm very disappointed on how my dentist, and surgeon planned this out. Always had perfect straight teeth until this effing medicine. Literally ate the enamel off my teeth! Anyways thanks for asking Dan. I appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I am sorry if that seems rude to say, but if you really want something you work towards it! I have 2 kids and expenses... if you listened to her story there was a point in time she was working just to try and fix her teeth! The contest came after all her hard work. Discounting her struggle and saying she won them, when she worked hard up until the point she was blessed by winning the contest is rude. Just my opinion...
I agree with ihatemademoe. Sarah, maybe you don't realize that other people HAVE busted their tail also and ran a futal race against our teeth, spending thousands and have nothing. My teeth have affected my tremendously and sadly I'll most likely never be able to afford a new smile.
I am so glad I came across your video. I’ve gone far too long not taking care of my teeth and I kept getting so discouraged every time I felt a new cavity or lost another part of a tooth. I actually just reached my tipping point and ended up finally seeing a new dentist this morning. I assumed that my initial appointment would only be a consultation and x-rays of my teeth. They decided to go ahead and take impressions of my teeth for partials so that they’ll be ready by the time I get some of my teeth extracted. I was told it would be about $670 and although I have slightly more than that in savings, I didn’t want to deplete those funds right away. Fortunately they’ve let me pay half now and the other half when I get my extractions. I hope to one day get implants but for now dentures are going to be unbelievably better than my current situation. I almost cried during my visit...I was also told many times by various dentists that they’ve never seen teeth in such bad shape with someone so young. It took everything in me just to prepare myself to hear that again but it never came up. I hope it never does but I’m a lot more optimistic and determined to finally make this change. Your video multiplied those feelings tenfold. I can’t wait to be where you are at and I’m glad I’m beginning my journey now. At least by the time we all don’t need to wear masks in public, I’ll be able to proudly unleash my pearly new dentures. 😁
@@tpquest6959 My dentist actually said that if I could at least cover the fees from the lab, I could pay the rest on the day of my extractions. I didn't think I could split the payment so I'm happy they were willing to work with me on that. If you are in a similar position, definitely ask if you can set up some type of payment plan. I'm assuming most places would allow something like that since they know how costly it is.
Before finding this video, I did a consultation for all on 4. 52k, and I can't afford that out of my pocket. I've heard of the bone loss and at 44 this scares the hell out of me. Almost the same beginning story as you. Now I will do the reg dentures and work my way up. Thank you for taking the time to make this, I'm almost at the point of baby food.
You are such an inspiration! I'm so happy I have found this video. I just had all of my remaining teeth surgically removed 4 days ago so I am just now beginning my long process. I'm only 27 so the emotions that come along with this are not inviting whatsoever and I continually ask myself was this the right decision? But after hearing your story and how similar it is to mine, I now know that this is a step in the right direction. I hope one day I am able to get dental implants as well.
Jennifer Petersen yeah toughin' it out is deff a good way to put it. Keep your head up though and we should get thru this journey just fine. It just takes ALOT of patience.
I'm 26 and need to do dentures for my top teeth at the very least. my bottom teeth may last a few more years. maybe..I'm glad to hear I'm no the only one my age needing dentures. its sad but lack of care in childhood and bad teeth genes have all the odds against me
Sara R yeah I'm surprised at all the younger people I've seen in need of this work I'm 36 and in my mind that's even too young to have to go through this, I thought I was one of those rare cases but obviously not. yeah I know what you mean I got the bad teeth genes too it's a nightmare, I've known for the last few years I'm going to have to do something someway somehow but just haven't got the money for it yet or I would have already gave implants a shot without much hesitation and honestly it's one of the biggest reasons I play the lottery and I don't even play to win the jackpot I just want enough to get my teeth fixed lol an I almost hit the dang thing about 8 months ago the jackpot was like 350M and I hit all but 2 numbers out of 6 and I was 1 number from winning 100k which would have gotten my teeth fixed smh lol
If you absolutely have to have your teeth pulled then yes it is the right decision. Pat yourself in the back, repair as much as you can afford, and live a healthy life. Your dentures/ implants are counting on it.
Going through the implant process now. Your video has given me some comfort. We have a similar story. Hope everything is still going great. Best wishes
Anyone know how I can get dental implants I’m only 28 years old and I don’t understand what I’ve done so wrong to deserve to go threw this. I’ve been praying for help
I literally have 3 missing and 1 on it's way out all 4 on top front. I had braces at 15 , no drugs, and judged all the time! I always thought why? I must have been an asshole in past life! People dont get how bad it makes you feel! I was a waitress and I was constantly covering my mouth and it made my job very hard I felt that that's all they see! I am also a caregiver for elders and only doing that now cause no judgement there! Most have have gone threw it! I have to have all removed and a full denture eventually bottom as well. 4500 for top with a denture that will need to be replaced with in a couple months, that will be another 2000. It's not easy when you have no credit but it's possible. I have 4 kids 4 grandchildren and I save every penny! My heart goes out to you! Dont give up! It took a while to find a dentist who didnt make accusations and dont have to sell a kidney, and who made me feel comfortable. I'm going through the same I mean my parents have paid soooooo much money for my teeth and I have lost all my front teeth the ones I eventually had veneers on for 5,000(the hooled me up discount half off because of how much money my parents spent with their practice of many specialists and general dentist so 2 girls and my parents have beautiful teeth but have had alot of work to keep them that way with insurance still paying thousand out of pocket me and my sister both had braces twice I had unnessecary gum surgery my sister had to have t he muscle that connect the tongue snipped I had the muscle between the top two because of a cute gap I miss with my whole heart and I even had car early as 2 years old I had an actual silver crown or cap at 10 y/o as well on a baby tooth!) So lots of $ for the procedures that stripped my enamel and doomed my already weak teeth I have I mean had no two baby molars that had no adult teeth under them so I basically am so sad I can't stop crying ng and feeling sorry for myself my boyfriend has quit being intimate with me since I have started actually losing them I was considered pretty my whole life and I took it for granted I had to movie star smile for about two years then all that expensive work went to shit and I have been in pain for 6 years 3 of them I have been suicidal at times from the pain I can't afford it my parents can't either and I have been independent from them for many years now. I'm 28 and i feel physically I'll from the infection. I have tried everything but I'm lost and embarrassed and don't know how or where to start. I thought I was in the prime of my life but it has been pretty much painful and now sexless 20s. I don't know why I let this happen or hoe I brushed and flossed and ate healthy when I could but idk it wasn't enough my mom says my dad's fsmily all has had bad teeth and had to pay alot of money for their smiles but no one can afford to just pay out of pocket to cover me its rough because it's one of the only things I would ask from them to help me with ever not school not my daughter not rent or a car I paid for that but... idk I hope I can even get the dentures and soon because I'm so depressed and in pain also have abscess teeth I get zits even on the outside of my face and jawline from it ear infections and nausea often horrible breath I got a water pick that is traveling so I can do it anywhere like in the car for 60 $ it helps to keep that gross infection from making me really sick and for breath but somebody please help I am sending good vibes and prayers or manifestations of healing and happiness toward you all going thru anything similar it is wrong that this isn't considered to be an health issue just simply for profit and cosmetic essentially for the elite I meant my parents to were hard working middle to upper middle st times and I still have no teeth and what looks like meth mouth andni promise you I have struggles with opiates now because of these teeth but never meth which came first the pain pill or the toothache I cann assure you it was the the toothache. @@halsyo8425 You.re not alone. The only thing about wearing corona masks that doesn.t bother me is that they hide my f-ed up teeth. The best thing i can recommend is looking up dental schools in your area. They take most insurance plans and cost much less. I.m in the beginning stages but it won.t be for another 6-8 months that i.ll be done with dentures. I.d rather have implants but for now it is what it is. I.m so depressed but at least there is an end in sight😞
Look in your area for dental schools. I.m going to UC of San Francisco dental school. I.m just frustrated bc it.s been taking forever bc covid and the process. In the mean time i hide behind my mask and battle depression. 😠
Your backstory and mine are very similar except I have waited a lot longer to do something about it. I spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to save my teeth for the past 40 years only to watch a lot of the work crumble within days or weeks of treatment. Today I am 24hrs on from getting a temporary plate and I couldn't be happier. In a few months I will get a permanent chrome plate and then from there I will aim in a few years toward an all-on-4 system. Thank you for sharing your story. I watched another one of your vlogs over a year ago and it convinced me to pull my finger out and just do it. So glad I did. Thank you for your inspirational and informative vlogs.
I was just given my temp set yesterday!!! And I paid $2000 for the set! It was worth every penny because even with the temp set my smile is BEAUTIFUL!!! I still have a good amount of swelling and in some pain but I feel better after taking some pain meds! But what a difference and my only regret is not doing it sooner 😁
I don't comment on videos often but I felt compelled to comment here because your story is SO similar to mine. I, too, had a bad relationship with my teeth. We never had insurance growing up so we never went. That, in combination with a poor diet (soda, junk food, sweets, etc.) and lack of proper dental hygiene due to pain, led me to have major dental issues as young as the third grade. I remember having cavities in my front teeth in my school picture. I remember at age 12 having black holes where my molars should have been. It was excruciating. I wanted to die. Still, I was never taken to the dentist, which I now realize is neglect. At 18, I had my son. The pregnancy wreaked even more havoc on my teeth. After he was born, I was an adult and I finally had insurance and went to the dentist for the first time in my entire life. I started with basic fillings, extractions, etc. and then I lost my insurance. Years later I finally got insurance again and started the process again. I'm STILL getting work done and I'm 31 years old. I've had two crowns placed, multiple fillings, and I still feel like there is no end in sight. I get perio maintenance every four months religiously. I'm still not happy with my smile. I enter contests, look up any possible resource, etc. because frankly, I can't afford the procedures I need to get a smile worth showing. *Sigh* The thing I've wanted most in my life is to be able to smile with confidence. Here's to hoping that one day, I'll have one as beautiful as yours. Thanks for making this video.
Mine were so bad and I put up with it for years longer than I should have but now I'm 31 and I finally got top and bottom full all on 4 implants a few months ago and the difference is unbelievable. It cost me about 30,000 grand which I'll be paying til I die I'm sure, but still totally worth it! I never had to deal with dentures thank God...
rae L. I was just reading about your implants. Can I ask where you got yours done for $30,000? I’m looking but everyone wants $50-60.000. I can’t do that. I’m almost 64, just not worth it, I could die tomorrow and my family would be burdened with that debt. Can’t do that to them. But, $30,000 I might be able to handle. Thanks, Diane. Dmh91655@gmail.com
I'm so glad I found your channel. I just had my teeth pulled yesterday. I've struggled with dental issues since age 14 when I had braces and my 23 year old brother punched me in the face and knocked out my 2 front teeth. In all honesty, I'm extremely depressed, to the point where I'm questioning things that I shouldn't be like my own mortality. You are STUNNINGLY beautiful and after watching 30 of your videos all night, I feel like I have hope. All I had going for me was my looks and now I'm toothless.
@@xerilaun I'm still struggling. I'm about 7 months in and am trying to hold out as long as possible for my perms. These temps are almost impossible to wear. The bottoms are impossible. I wear the loose fitting tops as much as possible but they are painful after a couple hours. I'm sure it will get better, especially after watching @Kalinjax. I know there is hope.
Hello Kalin!!! I have been binge watching all of your videos. I'm actually getting all my teeth pulled and receiving dental implants. I am 31 with horrible tooth decay. I was just about to break down and get dentures when my brother called me and told me he would foot the bill for my teeth. I obviously cried. Im a proud mother of 2 girls 3.5 months and 17months. My exam is tomorrow then they will set my surgery date. I would love for some serious pointers. I'm extremely nervous and scared. I know it will be worth it in the end. I'm going through clear choice. I hope their surgeons are as skilled as yours.
This is so informative. I've been looking for a video like this because I'm about to get my extractions done next week, and I'm only 23. I've been feeling so depressed and alone about it. But it does make me feel better seeing how yours have turned out, and what my mouth maybe could look like after everything is done.
I have had the same issues. The sensitivity the blooding gums. I had caps on my baby teeth from cavities. Most of my teeth were affected by cavities by my early twenties. By forty nearly all my teeth have been removed. I have just given up on being social and when I try to smile the muscles are severely underdeveloped. I have to force myself to smile (which I would never let anyone see). People always think I am angry. I used to attract a lot of women. Now I avoid them. I had a partial once but it didnt fit well and the teeth around it continued to decay at a fast rate. To see a lady as lovely as you has gone through similar problems has given me hope. I am exploring all my options and plan to see a dentist next week to try and come up with a full mouth solution. Thanks for the motivation. You look spectacular.
Thank you for your story!! My question is why so expensive? I mean some people do not have $45K for fake teeth. I understand and see that they look fabulous on you, but 45K?! I can see paying $20K shoot even $25K but not 45K. I just feel that Dentist are ridiculous with their prices on dental work. I applaud you for putting your story out for everyone to see and read! Consider yourself blessed for not having to fork out a cent for those fabulous teeth!! 👌🏻
Yolanda Gutierrez the dentists that she went to are top of the line, many general dentists do these now at a much lower cost. I have 8 implants also and the same brand and shade of teeth she has. I can click mine out for now because 4 of the implants are still healing and 4 were placed when I had my natural teeth and healed for 5 months, then he pulled the rest and put the other 4 in and connected my teeth to the stable 4. After the healing is over I can get ones like her ( that stay until you go to the dentist) or keep them removable. I kind of like being able to clean them myself.
Hi I was thinking of going to Cancun Mexico as these all on 4 are half the price, but may I ask how you got them for $16.000, and also is that for upper and lower or just one, also why are your removable when all the adds say they screw them on, I really hope you got both for 16,000 and could you please tell me how you went about it..
mppaiges Yes, top and bottom... my insurance paid to pull the teeth. He placed 4 of the implants on one visit..then I had to wait for them to heal. Just 2 on top and 2 on the bottom... then about 5 months later pulled all the teeth and put the other 4 in and placed the teeth in the original 4 implants. the other 4 have to heal and they can't connect anything to them while they heal so I have to take the teeth out to clean the healing 4 until they can activate them in 5 months, so either you wear a full denture and wait for all 8 to heal before they can attach.
as many times as I have gone back for him to make adjustments to the teeth and checkups, I would be afraid to get them done in another country because you don't really have anyone to fix things for you if you need something.

Thank you for this video. You covered a lot of questions about this process. I am having this oral surgery next week
They should really drop the cost of implants and dentures , we need teeth to live , it should be a basic human right !
For real! I just spent 8K on my upper extractions and full denture. Then in 6 months after my bone grafts heals, I go in for implants, which is another 11K. This shit ridiculous. Only reason why Im doing it is because its now not an option to not get it.

Not everyone has bad teeth because of drug use some people just have bad teeth
kristina mendoza , yeah but some Drs / dentist have good syndrome that they beleviw gives them all knowledge

Now I take Xeralto)
You can see thru what teeth I have because I have no enamel left.
Justin McKinlay can you help me get good teeth? I’ve never been a drug user , I just want to smile again

@@tracyhoffman7227 Just go to a place like Affordable Dentures & Implants, and you can pay for each step separately;
The extractions and a basic denture was like $700, then later, go get the first 'permanent' bridge (3 Implants and the real bridge with the neodymium magnets [instead of screws] for about $2000 to 2500)
Then get the other bridge done later on when you save that up again.
Your teeth and smile is absolutely beautiful.#hopetosmileagain1day
Nesha Britwood, if more people are as compassionate as you, this world would be a much better place. I wish you the very best on your path.
I know I made the right choice and I hope once I get my dentures (unfortunately they won't be implants at this time due affordability, but it's good to know it's an option later on!) that I can smile as confidently and happily as you are!
wow, we appreciate you're sharing about this.
Amanda - wow! How are they going now? How many teeth do you have pulled, basically all of them?
I've had 3 root canals and about 6 crowns and they continuously fallout because the tooth underneath the crown decays and then there's nothing they can do. My mom and I seem to have some type of saliva deficiency because our teeth decay like crazy even though we take really good care of them
You brave lady. Sounds like you are trying to keep it in perspective. I will try to follow suit.
I will be going for my impressions of my dentures after two to three months cause that's what my doctor told me. I can't afford implants but for the time being dentures will do. In future I will go for implants for sure. Thanks a lot for sharing. It really helps. Lot's of love and luck from India.
Whoa how did I miss this? How did the appointment go and how do you like them?
You can get implant from India they are 10 thousand rupees per implant which is like 140 USD per implant. I think it would be less cost.

Every dental appointment I’ve ever had and every procedure I’ve had done, has always been excruciating. That’s the deterrent for me. Plus, I’ve always associated dentures to old people with sunken cheeks. I know that’s awful! After hearing your journey and seeing how happy you are (btw, you’re are stunningly beautiful!!) I am literally lying here fresh out of surgery with my healing denture in my mouth watching this.

You have a beautiful smile and I plan on using your videos as a point of reference when I see my dentist in the near future. I'm hoping my next set of dentures will look similar to yours. Thanks for posting and God bless you. Share that beautiful smile with the world!😁

Glad to help!
Thank you for sharing your denture journey. I am one of them with denture wear. I am kind of insecure because of that. I am just glad I am not alone.
Jennie Foster me too 😭
That's how it was for me last year too.
Oh you're not alone... and I'm glad that I'm not alone either
I got chocked up watching you talk about feeling alienated. cause that's how I feel. Thank you for your videos.
btw I have a 10 yr plan. I will start saving and using all of my tax returns so hopefully on the tenth yr I'll have implants as well. So far it's just a partial. preserving my good teeth for as long as I can. 😉
+Amadeus Joshua thank you 💛
How can I enter a contest?
I'm happy she finally got her new teeth and can smile. Again.
The dentist does not make the implants and/or dentures. That would be the job of the dental technician (wich I happen to be).
It's ok to not know that though, since most people will never really meet one.
It's a creative job and lots of fun, but will raise a few eyebrows when you say you make teeth for a living.
@@novanettle7497 hook me up on the low .
"Get what ya pay for " of course but I don't care if you mold them from dog teeth. Lol 🤣
@ Shirley Howard. Actually dentists are taught what you suggest in dental school.
Thats for sure mine dont look natural
Hey Brandon! I'm so glad you got it all sorted out!
YOu should of when to asia for the dental work.
I got married last year and I couldn't smile either. The photographer would say "smile big! Smile bigger!" oh man... It still makes me cry
sending love your way 💖💖💖
Oh I just hate to hear that, sweetie...same here.
I said, "I literally can't!" & she just laughed & said "Sorry, I forgot."
😔
I also have dentures (top & bottom) & I'm 34.
+ In my late teens/early 20's, I was in an abusive relationship (my first ever relationship) & he would make me feel guilty for me wanting to look after myself. If I wanted to do things that made me feel good about myself or to look nice, of course it was because I was wanting to look good for someone else, I was obviously cheating on him. So, among other things, I wasn't allowed to brush my teeth. 😔
I never cheated. I did think maybe I should have, just so at least being made to feel bad, wouldn't have been for absolutely nothing. (shrugs)
By the time I escaped that relationship, it was too late for most of my teeth.
Oh & so I can cough or sneeze, without my dentures coming loose! YES, that's happened a couple times! 😬 lol
Sorry. The infections that spread throughout my mouth, I should clarify, were/are inside my gums.
I also have Gum Disease now.
E Reynoldful.. 😥😥
How did it go? I'm starting to accept the fact that I will have to get dentures soon and I'm so scared about what it will be like

Thank you!
How many years passed from removing your teeth
@@minaalgeria5688 hows the pain?
I have dentures I desperately want implants. :( I can’t eat food that is tough.
How did you find a dentist that let you put a down payment ?
I have lost 5 teeth so far to sjogrens autoimmune disorder. 😢
THANK YOU!
Tina Matyskela you've just given me the push I need to go get my smile back. Well done to you. ❤️
I'm having some work done. I hope I can have more done if I ever need to. Well worth paying top price for realistic implants. You have my sympathy for your dental issues
Tina Matyskela amen. Im praying for your hearing. Your made whole is Jesus Name.

Yeh I wore enamel off my teeth flossing too hard .
.
I’ve never seen someone so pretty and young with dentures . I’m going through a similar case
That's why she got 2 sets of snap in dentures all because she's pretty. Ugly people get screwed out of looks and teeth
I've had people assume i was a drug user. I was not. I have soft teeth and they were beginning to be a mess since grammar school.
im sending support to everyone who needs it. i had years of orthodontic treatment because my lower jaw was in front of my upper jaw. now i learn that i have a crossbite, well actually even my bones developed accordingly. one side of my jaw is bigger and my upper teeth and lower teeth doesn't align. i wont go into details but people forget there are endless obstacles people have/had to go through. for me it was orthodontic issues. imagine everytime i chew there is a huge pressure on every teeth. i hate when they judge such situations. what can i do if my mouth damages itself

Hey did you get the implants?
when you said you couldn't smile in your wedding photos i started crying for you. #myheart
Yeah I felt bad
@@melanies9010 I'm on Medicare which doesn't pay for dentures, and I "make too much money" to qualify for Medicaid.

Tell them you are disabled without teeth. See there are any charities near you. That give dentures for free or low cost. To people that are disabled.

There is teeth make up now... and some customized veneers that are like dentures you put o top of your teeeth and don't cost much.

IKR!!! They can be soooo demeaning sometimes!! Smh

Thank you!

I’m only 18 and my dentist told me that my mouth looked like that of a 40 year olds. I’m going to get fillings later this month and I’m terrified that all my teeth are gonna fall out. You have given me some relief that even if my teeth get worse there are options.
I hate those dentists. Just take all confidence that left..
Thank you so much for this video! It really means a lot to know I am not the only young person with teeth problems! Thank you again!
Dentist was probably projecting, in a psychiatric sense.
How much will the implant dentures be?
@@cynthiapardo762 all together I paid $1,200
Your teeth are beautiful! Thank you for your story. I'm 65 and knocked my front teeth out at 10 years old. Over the years, living at the dentist basically and replacement bridges, I am now having to get dentures. Very traumatic really. Hearing your story has been so helpful! Thank you!
Omg I wish I could afford them!! Prices are out of my reach
OMG Thanks for sharing I'm 24 and im going through the same thing. I needed this hope to hold on. I'm working on getting my teeth together but i dont know where to start.
A healthy mindset.
Thank you.
I'm losing my teeth from never going to the dentist and grinding. honestly I was lost until I found your videos.
amanda sedell ...
Oil pulling. It will heal your teeth.
Same here love.. I feel a lot of hope after hearing stories like hers. People make fun of bad teeth but they wont make fun of obese people or people with diabetes, even though most of chronic teeth issues are out of our control :(
@@jaemitchell1776 how do do this
Finding your channel has been a big eye opener!
Donna MacKenzie good luck..I'm sure you'll find a way to get your implants♡♡☆
I hope things turn out ok for you.
I start the extraction phase of my journey on May 3rd. THANK YOU for this video! I'm now even more excited than nervous!
Beth, I had my extractions on May 3rd as well. How are you doing? Do you have temporary dentures?
Happy to have run accross your video and your story!
As I sit here...AT THIS MOMENT, I am wearing the economy top denture! I wanted a beautiful smile as well and could not afford implants so yesterday, I had all my top teeth pulled and wearing the economy (cheapest) denture! It's really hard to eat right now and I can't taste things very well with this on my pallette? I hope I can someday do better than what I have now! I don't know what the future hold but I know I am very depressed right now and pretty much feel like my life is OVER!
Thanks for sharing your story
hope to find things better for you now .
This absolutely changed my life
God bless you for being a true inspiration.
Thank you for all your videos. Sharing your story is life changing for many of us that don't know how all this process goes.
You can have a combination of both which gives an even better look.
@@tonyo5207 that's what I have now actually a zirc and porcelain combo... they look (and feel) great, but one of my lateral incisors just broke completely off... so back to zirc until repair's done...👍
@@keithwilson5229 had the same problem, chipped a front tooth. All good now though 😃
That's good to know. Thx for sharing.
I just had my teeth extracted yesterday and woke up with my immediate detures. You video gives me hope for the future.

I'm very disappointed on how my dentist, and surgeon planned this out. Always had perfect straight teeth until this effing medicine. Literally ate the enamel off my teeth!
Anyways thanks for asking Dan. I appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Good video, but doesn't really make me feel better about my situation knowing I'll never win a contest for free teeth lol
ihatemadmoe I didn't win a contest... earned it and you can too. it's called work and goals.
WOW!!! I have no words.....
Wow!!
Where did you go that accepts down payment
@@tpquest6959 My dentist actually said that if I could at least cover the fees from the lab, I could pay the rest on the day of my extractions. I didn't think I could split the payment so I'm happy they were willing to work with me on that. If you are in a similar position, definitely ask if you can set up some type of payment plan. I'm assuming most places would allow something like that since they know how costly it is.
Thank you so much for this video. It feels like the exact same story of my life but I’m 39 now and still considering my options.
I'm 28. its a sad experience, I am tough in out myself.
Best wishes
I am too. Getting 3 implants at 21. I had a bone graft done in March and in a few months I'm getting the implant procedure. You are not alone
It very hard to stay positive when u dont even wanna leave your house, but you just have todo it! I may only have to sell half a kidney but I wont give up! Lol I'll be praying for you
I'm going through the same I mean my parents have paid soooooo much money for my teeth and I have lost all my front teeth the ones I eventually had veneers on for 5,000(the hooled me up discount half off because of how much money my parents spent with their practice of many specialists and general dentist so 2 girls and my parents have beautiful teeth but have had alot of work to keep them that way with insurance still paying thousand out of pocket me and my sister both had braces twice I had unnessecary gum surgery my sister had to have t he muscle that connect the tongue snipped I had the muscle between the top two because of a cute gap I miss with my whole heart and I even had car early as 2 years old I had an actual silver crown or cap at 10 y/o as well on a baby tooth!) So lots of $ for the procedures that stripped my enamel and doomed my already weak teeth I have I mean had no two baby molars that had no adult teeth under them so I basically am so sad I can't stop crying ng and feeling sorry for myself my boyfriend has quit being intimate with me since I have started actually losing them I was considered pretty my whole life and I took it for granted I had to movie star smile for about two years then all that expensive work went to shit and I have been in pain for 6 years 3 of them I have been suicidal at times from the pain I can't afford it my parents can't either and I have been independent from them for many years now. You.re not alone.
Thank you for being so honest about your experience.
Love this content. I feel so bad about my teeth as of now and considering getting dentures.
Fascinating story. It sounds like your early experiences were very difficult. So glad you found a solution!
Was it a rough recovery?
Did you experience any numbness of the chin after the implant surgery??
Are you using care credit or how are you paying on time for it.

65 thousand?
This is so informative. I've been looking for a video like this because I'm about to get my extractions done next week, and I'm only 23. I've been feeling so depressed and alone about it. But it does make me feel better seeing how yours have turned out, and what my mouth maybe could look like after everything is done.
I pray one day I will find happiness again with an upper denture.
im 23 and same
You would be surprised how many people have missing teeth in their early 20s. Just get implants one at a time if you can or partial dentures
sounds like you've been through a lot. i wish you all the best!
Yolanda Gutierrez I got the same thing and same teeth, but not fixed I can remove them for cleaning $16,000
You're gorgeous! You can't even tell that you have implants! So natural looking!!
Kalin, look absolutely fabulous, you are a gorgeous young lady and it all comes from within. Your experience gives hope! God bless you pet!
