Amen. I had all ten things going on. I'm 2 weeks into my dentures. I'm so much happier and don't hurt, other than me healing. But I'm so happy I got dentures.

OMG!!! Today, is my first day ever even googling about dentures! I just had my visit with my dentist yesterday and planned all the steps towards full upper dentures - and now I found actual people like me who have been going through the same I’m going through!! This video - this video - I cannot believe how true and touching it was for me!! I never ever speak to anyone about it - at all - and now this big step - I just watched the regret video - but this one made me feel like crying!!

Google low income dental care. The town you live in. There should be some low income dental clinics near you. Or try dental colleges near you. They will pull your teeth for very little money. At low income dental clinic. They charge based on income. They won't give you dentures. So I probably will need set of dentures I can't eat with. For several years. Then I will go online buy set of dentures that are not custom made for me. Do the soft realign at home myself. For $250 dollars I will have dentures. I wished that I had some better suggestions for you. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything better. If you leave infected tooth in your mouth. The infection can spread without you realizing it. I had no pain at all the infection spread to the bone in my jaw. Infecting neighboring teeth. It also can spread to your heart or brain. Which could kill you. There is not enough help and why dental is covered with our health insurance. I think is completely ridiculous. Because untreated dental infection can become life threatening. Please I am begging you find someone to pull your bad teeth. When I mention what you can do to get it taken care of. It's because I know through experience what happens if you don't do anything. I hope you feel better soon.

If you are new to dentures, be mindful that this is a journey. The hardest part is the bottom teeth extractions. It took me twice as long for my bottom gums to get back to feeling normal again. Take ibuprophen with orajel until the pain fades away.
The second hardest part is bone spurs. Basically after your teeth are taken out, you may develop them and you will have to go back to your denture provider to have them removed. That way it won't hurt you when you eat.
The third hardest part is getting used to having two objects inside your mouth. It takes time! If you have a lisp, that will subside but only if you make sure to have them in on a regular basis. You just have to get used to them.
The fourth hardest part is perhaps the dentures becoming "too big" because as your gums heal, your gums shrink. Do not worry though....your denture provider will make an adjustment. Then, 6 months up to a year after, you will go back for the final adjustment....and they will give you your conventional denture set These are your permanent ones. But don't throw away your first set!! You just never know...
I highly recommend NOT using baking soda to whiten your dentures because baking soda is too abrasive and over time can wear them down. If you would like to make them brighter, buy Polident Overnight Denture Whitening Cleanser. Follow the instructions stated on the back. This product is very effective in combating stains. Dentures will stain much more easily than regular teeth so you need to soak them in this solution every night.
Along with all this advice....I personally find that denture adhesive powder keeps my dentures more secure than the creams do. I wet my dentures....sprinkle on the powder....and then I let the facet drip over the powder to make it wet and combine into one consistency. When putting in your dentures, you need to "bite up" and "bite down" This will make them stay in better. You may want to apply more adhesive on the bottom set because the bottom one is more prone to become loose.

I started having major problems with my teeth back in 2009 and the dentist I had then pulled all of my bottom teeth out and most of my upper. That dentist wasn't very engaging with me and let me hang out there not knowing what to do next. I received dentures that didn't fit well and often hurt, but I thought that was just the way it was going to be. As a result I looked like a cow when I ate because my bite was not right. Ever since then I avoided all social interactions when people would get together and eat. Relationships die when you refuse to do anything with people so I ended up with no friends. At work, I take my food to my office and avoid work social functions. People at work sometimes comment that I don't interact, as if I have a problem. Of course I have a problem, but I don't tell people about my teeth because I'm too embarrassed and I don't want them to know. Now I have finally found a good dentist. I believe this time I will get help. He went through everything with me and assured me that he will help me with my bite so I can feel good about eating with people. I cried and hugged him. As I write this statement on this channel there are tears coming to my eyes because my life has been very lonely like this (its been 15 years). I fantasize about being able to be with a group of people where I can eat without feeling self-conscious and laugh and joke with them. I'm excited for this to happen. Watching your videos is very informative, and hearing your story is uplifting and comforting. Thank you very much.

Oh, wow. I just picked up my dentures yesterday. I found your channel by searching about new denture-wearers and watched three videos and subscribed. This is EXACTLY what happened with me. I'm just now realizing all of these things, and the effect they had on me over the past ten or twelve years when my teeth became so bad and I stopped smiling. As a writer as well, it changed my entire career. I stopped going to all conventions, any shows, readings, gatherings among authors... It basically ended it. I never eat out--at least I haven't for ten years. I look forward to doing it again. I also just ate for the first time with dentures last night. It was hard and weird, but so amazing to do so, because I only ate on the right side of my mouth. I'm excited to eat things again, especially sweet things and cold things. It's so amazing to wake up without pain from abscesses and open cavities, and to go to sleep without pain. I know I have to adjust to all the physical stuff as well as mental. I know there are things that changed about me that I haven't yet realized, but I already see a lot of the psychological effects of my lifestyle over being ashamed and in constant pain. I am so happy to smile. And glad to hear that you went through so many of the same things as me, and how things changed for you. And it's hilarious that just this morning I was like, "Hmmm... I should dress better, too." because I just don't care... I did the opposite as you, and just never have good clothes, feeling like a bum anyway. This is so life changing. Thank you for sharing your journey, it's inspiring.

OMG! I didn’t want dentures but because I was judged by the VA Dentist and he only approved for the dentures that I have now
The VA would not approve immediate denture
I really need implants because I would use my teeth for bathing and other activities of daily life because I am a quadruple amputee who lives without hands or feet and my teeth decayed because chemotherapy can and did cause the early decay and I was not made ready for chemotherapy! Now long story short I have been trying to save my teeth at any cost but to no evaluation
Over the last 8 years here in NC because of this wayward position to deny the implants based on “decayed teeth” is that not a reason for implants and I am truly disabled now and my life expectancy can’t be long, no one deserves to be treated like I have been treated especially being an Officer Veteran that I am should be afforded implants especially if they are used to maintain my independence as a physically challenged person! I can’t do can’t my life has always been triumphs over defeats but here in NC and because I have lost 2-3 things to stay mentally healthy my walking, loves to walk and socialize NOW I cant do shit
      Any advice would be great

My dentist made me for terrible. When I knew he would send me to get my teeth pulled at an oral surgeon, I asked him how long would it be before I could have my temporary dentures fit to where I could go to work. He told me I could go back the next day. I said I wouldn't have any teeth and my mouth would still be swollen and at work I was on the phone and around people in the office and I wouldn't have any teeth. I knew it would also affect the way I talked. He said I shouldn't worry about that because what I had in my mouth at the time looked like sh*t ! Isn't that nice? He made me feel so bad. He even told my husband he would fix my teeth so it would make HIS life better ! I should've walked out of there right then, but I guess I let him get to me at the time. NEVER put up with a dentist that speaks to you this way or anyone else!

I feel ya, while listening to you I felt as though you were describing exactly what I've felt for most of my life. I'm 60 now, been divorced and single for over 30 years and now finally have someone in my life. I never thought it would happen and wasn't expecting it to but this wonderful Man loves me for who I am, not what I look like. And for someone who has had problems with dental issues since I was two, it's a foreign land to me. I had upper plates when I was two years old because my teeth broke up like chalk, so I started life off with pain from dental procedures and have always had issues even when they grew in stronger so I didn't need the dentures (about 4th grade if I recall correctly). All of my uppers have been pulled and I now have 6 left on the bottom that are broken off at the gum line or below and have constant abscesses and have had for several years now. I work nights, stay away from people best I can and just exist, but not living. My goal is to get the remaining pulled before the end of the year so I can start to heal and move on with my life. Hopefully my sweetheart will hang around for those milestones, I hope in my heart of hearts he will. But if not, then I will face it alone just like I have everything else in life. When I pass I want to do my best to have as little regrets as possible and this is one of those on the list to take care of. Now, I just wish I was made of money so I could afford to get it done and have a beautiful smile in the end. I have such a severe case of bone loss I don't think the implants are a possibility, so dentures are my plan. Thanks for always being a beacon of light in an otherwise dark world. Take care of yourself.

As fellow tooth suffer. With very little money. I Googled low income dental care. The town I live in. There should be low income dental clinics or charity organizations. Where you pay for treatment based on income. So you can get your bad teeth pulled. These types of places don't give you dentures. So you will have to look online for dentures. I have seen be between $200-$400. That you can actually eat in. Then there are some that are $40 but you can't eat with them. The most important thing. Is getting the teeth pulled. Because infection can enter your bloodstream. Which can kill you.

I've been dealing with dental issues since I was a child. Now 10+ years post-menopause - I have so much bone loss that implants are not an option. I've had implants done and removed because of pain, or infection. I'm just starting to research now because I'm one tooth away from not being able to chew food because of tooth loss. I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago. And I just had all of my extractions on Tuesday. I left with immediate dentures but the bleeding wouldn't stop so I had to take them out. Which of course led to swelling and now I can't put them in until the swelling is gone. I'm feeling pretty down about myself at the moment and I'm feeling regret. But watching your channel gives me hope to know that eventually my journey will have a happy ending even if it's hard to get there. Nothing can be harder than going through what I went through for the last 15 years with my teeth crumbling. You were talking about biting into broccoli and it broke your teeth. I went through the same thing. Breaking my teeth on random things, even the soft stuff. I'll be 38 tomorrow and so I'm just hoping that this is the right path for me. Most of my molars are gone and I have 2 missing front teeth (1 upper and one lower) which are broken off that I fill in the empty space with dental wax (which has to be removed when eating). The rest of my lower teeth are extremely loose and I am actually terrified every time I am about to eat. I can’t even express how self conscious and embarrassed I am about my teeth and find this situation to be absolutely crushing. I live on social security and have no dental insurance and the cost for dental work is way beyond my means. It is extremely frustrating that seniors are denied such necessary care. This situation brings me to tears every day. How I would love to authentically smile and laugh again.

I'm in the same boat as far as being embarrassed EVEN NOW but especially before, had both front upper pulled bc I had started the process a couple years ago, things went south and had to put them on the back burner. 😑 but then I got lucky and this happens: Had my tops extracted 6/29/22, bottoms 7/5/22. I'm in constant pain, I'm in more pain than I was before. I'm having severe problems with bone spurs. I'm like 1 month from getting my perms. Where I went will not pull any unless it's already out of the gum so they can grab it with tweezers. No one wants to touch it bc they didn't do it. Liabilities ya know? Ig idk. But I even called just this last Friday to every where I could contact and cried telling them I can't get help, I need help! and to tell you the truth. I think I would've backed out of I could do it over. The 1 bone spur that's been the biggest just came to the top a couple weeks ago but it's like flat. Can't get ahold of it at all with tweezers/ pliers etc. My Dr has kept me on antibiotics since July 18th. 😑 I regret doing it. It keeps my ear on that side hurting along with my neck down to my chest. I was basically butchered. Nearly 6 months and I'M STILL EATING SOFT foods and my self esteemand confidence was bad but now I have none. I stay hungry and in pain. Crying every day, severely depressed. Already had problems with depression and anxiety and this has made everything worse. Affordable needs shut down if they're going to treat patients like this. I really really hope karma gets them soon. No one absolutely no one should have to go through what I am! And so, I donot recommend affordable at least in north Alabama. But I had more than one friend get screwed at aspen. I suggest a real dentist. All those 2 want is your money, they don't care. I'm going to have to get a lawyer after these people unless they fix it tomorrow. CHECK REVIEWS! good luck babe

I am 27 and got all my upper teeth removed, thankfully most of my bottom front teeth were still good so I get to keep them. I can't wait to get my upper dentures monday! Finally all those years of not being able to hold eye contact, smile etc will hopefully be over. I know that I still have a long way to go as in getting used to dentures etc.. but it was either this or having bad mouth hygiene and having healt issues along the way. I am 100% chosing to take my dentures out every night then to worry about if I will have any tooth pain out of the blue. You are helping thousands of people with getting comfortable with their dentures or their journey on getting them Kalin, most of us don't even react on videos of yours but we're following your journey and getting our hopes up that everything will be alright, so thank you for that!

Your mindset going into this journey, as long as you are confident in your dentist, is probably 90+% and maybe 10% having the knowledge to temper your expectations and realize initially there may almost certainly be discomfort and immediate dentures will likely be ill fitting until the swelling subsides enough to install a soft liner and depending on the initial fit, your speech may be effected for a time.
But boy is that soft liner a welcomed revelation!
I went thru this only taking one afternoon off work & back the next day, but I only had the local numbing for extractions & no anesthesia so no recovery time needed from that.
I am one of the fortunate ones but now 13 days in and I am (slowly) eating fish and chicken again already and as far as anyone knows I only got veneers.
(Way to ashamed to reveal my situation to anyone)
I am so happy to have my smile / life back that the minor pain and relearning to eat & speak clearly process is comparatively insignificant.
Loosing teeth / living with dentures is definitely life changing and can be devastating or even lead to depression unless you prepare yourself with a positive mindset and welcome the challenges as the steps required to regain your confidence, health and appearance.
My only regret of the decision is that I waited too long due to my fearing the possibilities.

Thank u so much for this video. Brought me to tears to realize I'm not alone. Everything was spot on to what I've been dealing with for too long. Unfortunately it took a throat cancer diagnosis in early July to force me to finally get my teeth pulled. Doc said it had to be done in order to avoid infections once I start my radiation at end on Sept. I almost feel like this diagnosis was a good thing.?.?. Gonna take a few months to kick this cancer thing then I plan on implants. Soo looking forward to the long term outcome. Everything u mentioned in ur video I'm dealing with and I don't want to anymore. Got teeth pulled last week. The few people that know so far are like, why would u do that to urself. I just say I know u don't understand but just wait till u see the new me. Ur videos really help. Thank u!

Thank you for making these videos! You are giving me all the answers to the questions that I have had. I started my journey almost 2 months ago. I have opted to go without teeth to heal first. I thought this would be my best option to insure that I have teeth that will fit, and honestly the thought of them pulling 27 teeth and then making me wear a set afterward was too much for me. The past 2 months have been really hard. Going without teeth is the least of it. I have had issues with bone spurs where I have gone to the dentist to have her cut my gums open grind down the bone and sew me up 3 different times. I have learned that this is not normal for most but the way my body has handled it. I was so swollen and bruised. I had 2 black eyes and the bruises were all the way down to my collar bone. I really feel that in the end of all of this I will be so much better off! I went to the dentist knowing what I was going to do with the denture scenario. She confirmed it. At the time I knew my teeth weren't awful, but they were on track to start causing me problems. So I decided that I didn't want to wait for the problems to start.

I have the set before the permanent ones. and I am having nothing but trouble. There is a down side to implants. I am on a soft diet basically, or my implant areas, now on the left side hurts. I am using Kanka soft stick to help with the pain. It is made by Blistex, on Amazon. I know I am the odd person here, but there is another side the implants. I am hoping for a great outcome, but not as easy as this sight says, however she has had many sets of implants to finally be comfortable. It is all very expensive. I wish the best to everyone.

The bottom teeth were created incorrectly and the top set have been shaved off a centimeter of the hard gum on one side. So I have been extremely extremely depressed. So dark. I love the Lord. I recently had emergency radical surgery and IV strong antibiotics during my 3 weeks stay in hospital and that just destroyed my enamel. My surgery requires me to chew food really well, so I'm freaking out. Going back to Dentist tomorrow to find out if I can even continue my treatment plan. My back teeth have been pulled awhile back, now looking at the front teeth being extracted. Freaking out due to my recent health situation, ileostomy and need to absorb nutrients and chew, chew, chew to avoid any blockage in my intestines. I'm still recovering and trying to rebuild my body which is slightly difficult due to getting healthy foods in my body. The foods I eat presently are limited and I'm craving salads fresh fruit and vegetables is NOT recommended at this time,, not happy about this.. 😔 Thank you for sharing. Appreciate you.

I didn’t have teeth, I had a tooth. Coming from being one of the most popular through elementary middle & high school for the little time I was there before dropping out.
Having the hottest girl on my arms @ the same time it was the beginning of the end, my hole life I was hiding from everyone how bad my teeth actually were.
When they got too bad I didn’t want to even show my face in public, but having bills I still had to work & deal with it meanwhile I was loosing confidence @ an alarming rate.
Resulting from being popular to one of those people that everyone would overlook & I feel that they probably even made fun of me.
ALL THAT REALLY DID ALOT OF DAMAGE TO MY CONFIDENCE.
Getting dentures @ 43 years old to me looking in the mirror now in comparison to what I had in my mouth just 4 days ago when I didn’t even want to look in a mirror, back to felling confidence opens up absolutely every option available now. Knowing I can be myself again.
I could care less that I can’t eat what I want right now, I know it’s not forever but it still wouldn’t bother me if it’s for the ready if my life.
FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT PEOPLE ARE SHALLOW & JUDGE YOU immediately on how your teeth look.
I wish everyone had the insane amount of money it cost to go to the new teeth store.
The feelings I have right now are overwhelming & Iv just got way to much to say.
I will never judge a person on there teeth.

So much of what you wrote here i identified with. I've been pretty much "around the world" with my dental health starting in my early/mid 20s. 6 months ago i got the all on 4 (or all on x as i got 5 implants on my uppers, lowers were ok, this was all after almost 30 year old crowns i got in my early/mid 20s failed) and while there were issues with the immediate prosthesis... 4 months later those issues were fixed and i love my teeth. I smile ALL the time now. I don't think about how i look to anyone else anymore. I'm now at the 6m mark and got the ok for final prosthesis two days ago and told i can eat anything i want within limits of the temporary prosthesis (the implants can handle anything but i need the final to be able to do it)... i agree you don't just survive it, something like this gives you the confidence to do the things that allows you to thrive. Thanks for another amazing video!

Everything you said is true. It has to do with confidence and self-belief. Right now I am getting dental treatment. I really want to go back to how I used to be. Avoiding the dentist is really stupid. They are the people we really need.

I’ve had my last 13 teeth out and new dentures immediately after that surgery last Tuesday May 23. I am still healing and have the normal pain from that BUT… I honestly can tell that having my bad teeth out - I feel better! I didn’t know how much my dental health was affecting how I feel. I relate to all of your points. I go for an adjustment tomorrow and I’m hoping that my bottoms will fit better after. I cannot afford implants sadly.

I just got my temperaries and I love them. I'm just trying to get used to them and ready to eat regular food again but I know it takes time. I'm a car salesman and I never covered my mouth when I laughed, I just acted like I had good teeth because I felt like it would bring more attention to the bad teeth if I tried to cover my mouth. I feel like I have marbles in mouth but over time it will get better.

Hey hon just wanted to tell u I was going through the SAME thing with having really bad anxiety I was scared BEYOND belief! But I was studying all kinds of u-tube videos until I was worn out. I'm 65 lost my husband almost four years ago and now having to go through getting dentures hasn't been easy at all. Anyway hon I finally said to myself well for health reasons I don't have any choice. August 22 I went in had 18 teeth pulled and two bones that had to be filed down then they put in my temporary dentures in. Oh my lord really 😳 all I could think of was I almost gave myself a breakdown and I hardly felt anything!! The surgeon was so good he talked to me all the way through the procedure. I had no anitishea only thing that happened was some numbing pink stuff they put on my gums and acouple shots. My mouth was so NUMB I didn't feel anything hon. It's really a scary situation but take it from me PLEASE don't hesitate and be nervous you'll get through this

I had all my teeth extracted back in May. I finally just got my temporary dentures yesterday. They feel fine, but my biggest issue is my gag reflux. I'm currently in the process of getting used to them, and hopefully I will no longer have that reaction. I will say the immediate reaction I had to my teeth, is that they looked weird and out of place, after having bad teeth for years, and then no teeth for 2 months. Having extreme anxiety caused me to wait too long to do anything about my teeth, but I am extremely glade I finally took these steps. I still have a long journey ahead of me, but anything is better than the pain and depression that my horrible teeth caused me for so many years. 😁🦷❤

My dentist says I have the worst gag-reflex he's ever seen. It helps to suck on (sugar free) lollies. He suggested 'Fishermens Friends', as there is something in them that helps desensitise the gums. Worth a shot. Good luck

@@bernitajenkins3180 Mine is terrible too. Had my teeth out last July/Aug. Temps Sept. Got an appt later this week to see about a new set. Top teeth are usually ok. Bottom set either fall straight back out or too tight. At the 6-7 mth point now.

I hope that I have the courage to start my journey I am just about there but I am still doubtful. I'm nervous because there's so many layers to the whole process. This video I related to all 10 issues. I look forward to knowing that I am healthy overall , not having the stress of me worrying about if my current teeth will fail me. But of course I just seen some bad reviews on the place that I want to go and this has made me doubt my decision.

I know how you feel. I was the same until I got mine 1month ago, i had been wearing my mask every day for 8months because the first dentist did a really bad job of my first set, so i had to go to a different dentist. but i did have to get my gum parts filed away down cause I looked like a horse as they were too bulky😄 and trust me there's such a difference by doing that.
I'm only starting to getting use to mine now, theirs still something I don't like about them, I'm just waiting another few months to see if it grows on me. The main thing for me is that I don't have to hide my smile anymore
