  • Can people tell that you wear dentures? Will people know your teeth are fake? Many people who are faced with becoming a denture wearer are worried about what people will think of them and whether they will look like a “typical denture wearer.” NOPE. Most people will not realize that your teeth are dentures.

I don’t care. Fake teeth are better than no teeth! When you self isolate for years because your missing teeth and feel like a crack head and don’t have money to get them fixed…your more than happy to wear a denture whether they look fake or not. My cheap dentures look better than most peoples real teeth so I could care less. It took me 5 years to finally get all my bad teeth removed and finally get a denture. It costs a fortune!!! So all those years I refused to go out or be around people. I was so ashamed. I’d always been a tall good looking guy so when teeth got bad I really mentally struggled with it. Now I smile and don’t give a shit! 😎👍🏻

I used to have a beautiful smile. Everyone used to say that. I was in a domestic violence situation where my boyfriend knocked my front tooth out. Then a dentist years later extracted all of my back teeth so I had no choice but to two on my front teeth which started to chip. now I look like a meth head and get treated like that. I used to be very pretty. But when you have fucked up teeth, it’s a completely different look. And people treat you completely differently. Now I don’t go out I stop going to years ago. I don’t date.. It’s literally ruined my life.

@@HH-gv8mx first of all I know how you feel. I’m a 6’3 guy in good shape with all my hair at 40 years old. Flat stomach. But I don’t go on a date and haven’t in years. All the years of shame and isolation killed my confidence I guess. When someone says I’m handsome or something I think it’s a joke.
Anyhow… I got cheapest denture they had at affordable dentures. I only have a top one too. None on the bottom yet. It cost 750 dollars or so for the top one alone but that included follow up visits to adjust them when needed. You can buy the top denture for less but I knew I’d need follow up’s so went ahead and bought the new denture wearer package that covers everything. I need to go back and get a bottom one I just haven’t done it yet. I was happy to have top one since that’s the teeth that show when you smile lol.
Anyhow I wish you the best. I’m kinda curious what you look like now lol. I’m Johnny1984 on Tictok if you wanna look me up . I have some videos there. It helped me a lot by making videos and at least letting people see me after years of isolation. You need to break the chains ⛓️ and defeat it. We both do.

Hi@sandraharvey8070, I had my top teeth removed in my mid 30s, that was going on 20 years ago. People really don't know, I didn't really find that out until THIS YEAR. I've dated, kissing never was an issue and never had a word spoken though I thought they HAD to know. I had a coworker in her 30s recently have her teeth removed and got dentures. She had complications and had to have them fixed, she still would talk when she needed to, me on the other hand was still covering my mouth when I smiled or laughed almost 20 years later, smh. My brother came over last week, one of his teeth was removed and he's having it fixed, I told him the dentist I used and he said he didn't even know, I had a sister tell me that a few months ago, she was thinking of having her side tooth replaced (out of 7 siblings 3 of us had our top teeth removed earlier in life just as our mother did, gum issues even with dentist visits, it happens) I stated all that to state, take care of your health if you have to replace your teeth thank God you're able to so, we be too hard on ourselves, I know I am and was when it came to my smile now I've decided to literally laugh out loud, I've never had an issue with my dentures coming out even with no adhesive and I keep them in even when I sleep, only take them out to brush(not recommended, I just was emotionally attached).

I've had full dentures top n bottom since I was 31yrs old, I'm now 42yrs old. I just had a new set made last Oct. When I was going over everything with my dentist I told him I WANT my teeth to look like I've got them bleached. My friend kept saying I would regret it that they'd look fake. My older sets people could tell, That is one big lesson I learned...you get what u pay for, going cheap isn't wise. My new set cost over 3,000 but well worth it. I get people who ask what dentist I use to bleach my teeth. I even have had people message me on FB asking where I got veneers put on. 3 big lessons I've learned on my journey you get what you pay for and do what makes you happy, and take the time to get used to your dentures without glue. I don't hide the fact I have dentures anymore, nobody pays that close of attention to know

I'll spare you the details of how I got here but our stories are very similar. I've been looking into the all on 4's and was wondering if I could ask a few questions that I must have missed on your videos. Do they have to cut away your bone/tissue to make room for the acrylic gums? Also, how often do you go for cleanings, how much does it run, and do you have to go to a special office to get them cleaned? Thank you for your time, and sorry if this isn't the right way to contact you. Nichole

I am now 30 and I just had an appointment today to put a liner in my dentures and I NEED to start wearing them because my self confidence is so low as it is. My biggest fear is that I won't get used to talking, with the "S" or "F". I need to work on this.. for me. It hurts today, but I keep telling myself "this pain is temporary". SO many people with bleached and or veneers that it's not abnormal to have a lot of dental work these days. My personal biggest fear is around having 1/2 of my face/head feeling empty. I don't know why, but it terrifies me to have them all out. I've been putting it off for a couple years. Thankful that masks have made it easy to hide. I really need to get over this crazy fear. It honestly amazes me how many people in my age range, and even younger, have dentures. I was 16 when I got my first set after having them all surgically removed at 14. I actually just had surgery to remove some root tips and get two implants on the bottom for lower snap on dentures. What was unorthodox to see as a kid, now that I am an adult, I see a lot of young people with them, or maybe because I have them, I am just more hyper aware of the fact.

I am 62 and have already had several teeth extracted. Because I have had visible teeth missing for some time, I am not worried about people knowing that I suddenly have fake teeth. I am worried about getting full dentures because I am a semi-professional singer and I am concerned that dentures will affect my singing career. The dental office I recently visited wants me to have an extraction so I can wear an upper partial, get a crown on an existing broken lower tooth, and start periodontal treatment which they say I will have to do for the rest of my life. I feel they are just trying to get money out of me for a longer time.

My partner has them... I could tell right away because it was too white and he is 50. He will be getting a new set, but to make them seem natural... Do not try to be whiter then everyone around you. His teeth are three shades whiter than mine. So it draws attention. My friend with veneers did this too.. If she was two shades less white it would look like pretty teeth. , my acquaintance friend was older too. Natural, or not hollywood white. ❤. I so appreciate these videos as they help my partner.

I would like to bring this epidemic to Congress! So many dentist charge so much money beyond what insurance pays. I would also like to see more programs to help people get their teeth fixed. I was abused by a dentist and I have never gone back. I still have nightmares. I have lost my career as a singer, actor because I haven’t smiled in over 20 years. I miss my smile. He not only pulled teeth that nothing was wrong with them but he kept me in the chair for 7 hours with the mouth opener in my mouth. I was crying and the nurse tried to help me, he came in and screamed at her calling her names and told me to stop acting like a big baby. I was nursing my son at the time and my shirt was soaked with breast milk. All I had was a small chip in my front tooth that needed fixed because I was going to be appearing on a tv show singing. He took a huge chunk of my lip off too. I wish i had never gone there. I tried to sue him but in PA it’s really hard to sue dentists. No attorneys would take my case but one attorney did assist me on having his license revoked in PA. He went to another state so that did nothing. I still to this day have nightmares. I am a literal horror story. I would give anything to have my beautiful teeth back. I lost so much and he has never had to pay for what he did to me. The scar on my lip is still there as a reminder of what he did to me!

I am so sorry for you. I feel your pain. I too had healthy teeth taken over one broken tooth by an unethical dentist. They would not do anything relines etc to make my denture fit & be comfortable. I also tried to sue & wound up getting the dental board to revoke her license. Never received any compensation or just cost covering for all that I went through. $20,000 for all on 4, then false teeth are never as good as real teeth so my teeth wore out after 8 years & new set of teeth to fit on the implants cost $9,000. When you never had any problem with your teeth & you don't have a real dentist of your own & you have to deal with crooked dentists it changes your life to the absolutely worst place you should never have been in. I really do emphasize with you. So very sorry.

I agree with you more help for dental care for all of us. When I was 35 years old. I need $6,000 worth of dental work with insurance. My husband and I just didn't have the money. Our son then was 10 years old. Now I will 51 on Thursday. Finally found low income dental clinic. All of my teeth have to be pulled. I will be getting dentures. Because these types of places don't do dentures. I will have to figure something else out for dentures. It will be worth it. No more infected teeth. Infection gone and pain free sounds great to me. There are nice dentists and there is little bit of assistance. But not nearly enough help for people. That really need help. I think you and everyone deserve to smile again.

I have a question. I have a severe underbite. My two front top teeth go behind my bottom teeth. I assume this has changed the shape of my gums since they have been like this for decades. If I get dentures, can I actually get pretty teeth, straight like normal people? Or will they have to be made like my teeth are now?

    • @angelaschaefer5883
      @angelaschaefer5883 9 месяцев назад

If you don't need all your teeth pulled. Because of gum disease or tooth decay. They are not going to pull all your teeth. If you do need them for that reason. They will be straight teeth. You no longer have any teeth in your jaw bone. So they aren't crooked anymore. Some orthodontist do payment plans for braces. You could check into that.

Unless it’s pointed out or blatantly obvious, I’ve not identified anyone or public. The way people talk, like you, sounds like they may have dentures. I don’t know why - maybe trying to keep them from falling out? I get my top replaced at the end of the month. It would be nice to have molars again, and be able to smile. They say I’ll be under for 8 hours (very bad gag reflex, so he wants me on anesthesia). Just getting regular dental cleanings with X-rays is fairly traumatic for me.

Hey! I just turned 39 this month! Yes, all of my teeth are gone. I wore removable dentures for the first two years. I was 26 at the time. After that, I got implants but the teeth I have can also be used in removables so essentially you can have an identical smile with removable dentures. These are the Phonares teeth from ivoclar. If you go to my channel, search for the video that says “from bad teeth to dentures to implants: my story” and it gives my full dental history and all the work I’ve had done. Also, look for the video that says “Amy’s road to a beautiful smile”. She is one of my subscribers that I met in Buffalo. She got the same teeth as me, just in removable. Good luck!

I actually have seen a lot of people that I could tell and especially people I've known for years but even ones I didn't. I can always tell because of the sunken face look that tends to happen even in younger denture wears but I know that's not always the case but that is the way I can tell. It's a certain look to the face even if the teeth are in

Now if there was a more modern term for them since it’s not just older people who have them, there are literally ALL ages now that have them so…. It’s a thought I’ve had for a long time since I have mine done and I’m not old but I’m not young either lol
