    My DJI Osmo Pocket 3 arrived in the post a few days ago and I've been an enthusiastic vlogger ever since. This little camera is simply fantastic. Thank you for your informative video on ND filters. I ordered two filters from K&F, but the ND4 and ND8 strength is way too weak to use on a sunny day. Tomorrow I will get the ND32, ND64 and ND128 filters. I still don't really understand which strength to use for which weather conditions, but I'll find out experimentally. Your video has helped me.

    I don't really make a lot of content out in the wild, but it's hard to deny that the Osmo Pocket 3 is super cool. 😎

      Such a COOL device. I just love how small it is. And the amazing quality you get out of it being so small! I can’t wait till bike riding season again! I’ll really put it to the test! Thanks for watching John! ❤️

    Sorry correct me if I'm wrong, are u just saying u kept ur EV settings to -3? The footage won't looks too dark? Or u meant EV-0.3?

      You are right EV-0.3. Thanks for pointing that out! -3.0 would be WAY too dark lol.

    Awesome video! What geographic location are you shooting from? Im curious as to what filters i may need in the Mexico region since the sun is strong.

      Thanks so much! I’m in the northeast in Philly. I took the pocket 3 to Jamaica and didn’t have the ND filters and a lot of my highlights are brownout and overexposed. For the bright sun in Mexico I’d definitely recommend making sure you have the ND128 in your bag. The all day mega kit from freewell would be my recommendation for you.

    Hello, thanks for your interesting video and thanks to share it. I need to ask a question please. I only make documentaries in 4K 50p on sunny days. Since it doesn't make much sense to use an ND filter with high framerate and Automatic Exposure, I was thinking to buy a CPL filter and always leave it on, without removing it. I like an image that is a little more contrasted, crispier and with more colour. I use D-Log M, do you think I'll get what I want with CPL filter? Thanks

    I’ve been waiting ages for the DJi filters as they are reported to hold tightly. How are the Polar Pro ones? I’ve had 3rd party filters fall off my pocket 2 and don’t want that to happen with the pocket 3.

    6:08 Is this the dark spot on the left top corner from polarization effect? I was looking for CPL performance of this filter since it's ND/CP filter. From this sample, it looks like, the CPL has X mark. It's pretty expensive filters to buy them with such deficiency of full functionality.
    I had Skyreat, returned because of stiff CPL ring and lost of details, I got Freewell now, not happy neither because of the same ring (better but still stiff) and weak polarization (Skyreat had better one). Now I'm looking at more expensive PolarPro filter for Pocket 3 and it's quality, looks like, still doesn't justify its price.

    These don't look like they'd be able to be left on the camera when you turn it off; the filter seems too thick so the gimbal will jam when it tries to seat itself on closedown.

      They're filters, not wide-angle lenses.

      Will the @DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Lock w/@PolarProFilters filters on?

      It doesn’t park correctly with the DJI mist filter as well.

      Good to know! I don’t have that one. But it’s the same as the wide angle adapter as well. But I stopped using the wide angle cause I feel like it degrades the video quality.

    0:40 It's blown out because you set Pocket to manual settings. There will be no blow outs when you set Exposure to Auto.

      lol that’s the purpose of the Nd filters. I wanted to show what it could look like and what the ND filters actually do. Thanks for mansplaining it though.🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

    What If u used nd128 In full auto? And also In log M

    • @SergSpace
      @SergSpace 8 месяцев назад

      Then your shutter speed with ISO will be low in bright day light, but ISO will jump up in cloudy day along with noise in your video.

    • @jasonpeishan

      Will the shutter speed change if we set it to auto with the ND filters on pocket 3?

    • @SergSpace
      @SergSpace 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@jasonpeishan I just checked on my P3. It does. It works that way. First, there is no Auto for shutter speed separately. There is just Auto Mode. In this Auto Mode you may select ISO range from 50-100 to 50-6400. Shutter set to Auto in that mode automatically. Second thing: when I set video quality to 4k 30fps and attach ND filter, the shutter speed goes down, ISO up. Indoor light conditions shutter speed went down to 30fps, ISO went Up to 3200. In bright light ISO goes down till about 120-160, shutter speed goes up to 100 at least with ISO 120. When ISO hit limit 50 and light is still bright shutter speed goes up pretty high. So yes, ND filter helps to reduce shutter speed when you set Exposure to Auto Mode.

      @@SergSpace thanks for the reply. So I guess if you put on the ND filter with auto mode, it helps to reduce the shutter speed in bright days without the hassle to change to manual shuttle speed. Even though we can't achieve 180 shuttle rule, At least when you are in auto mode, you will be less worry about your footage getting over or under exposed as the camera will adjust your exposure itself. Just my point of view.

    • @SergSpace
      @SergSpace 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@jasonpeishanIt will adjust Exposure automatically even without filter in bright light. It just without filter your shutter speed can go to the sky and video footage won't be a cinematic. As for me I use ND PL filter to adjust polarization to see clouds and not washed out sky. And ND filter somehow makes better bokeh and add micro contrast.
