I feel horrible for Larissa! This woman has been through so much throughout her career. This breaks my heart for her and for Romanian gymnastics! I will never get used to no full Romania Olympic team 💔

I didn't know about Laurie or Liv. I'm so happy for Laurie! That's such a great opportunity for her. Also, Auburn is my favorite gym team, so I'm very happy to see it getting some great recruits!

This shattered my (Olympics) world. I’m absolutely heartbroken for Lari!! 💔 She’s been my favorite since she burst onto the senior scene at the American Cup in March 2012.
She cannot compete after all she went through for it? She lost her mother last month? God, my heart breaks for this girl. She deserves nothing but good luck for the rest of her life after all the shit she's been through.

First she has to stop making excuses about not being part of the Tokyo lineup because of injuries instead of the fact that she didn't get back in the gym soon enough.
Laurie seemed too nervous and talked too fast. Maybe if she improves. But I would say "why Laurie?" She has very few relevant senior medals. Mainly just the team gold... really hope they wouldn't gift her some position just because of sympathy over the abuse. The people commentating should be the best at their job. So far I don't see that with her.
@@justlina2769 She needs to stop talking about herself altogether. She has a great voice and personality. This is her opportunity to apply some professionalism to her repertoire and focus on bringing her knowledge and expertise regarding the sport to the current competitors.

Larisa is a champion and can rest as one.
After being asked "Who are you rooting for the most?" and not being able to pick one person over the others (well...Sam, but that's because my world lights up when he smiles) -it's obviously Larisa. I think she has all the talent to keep going after Tokyo, but I doubt she will. So this is it for her most likely. Sorry Simone, Sanne, Suni. I need Larisa to win gold on beam.
Larisa is my favorite international gymnast and was so looking forward to seeing her compete. As a fan for me this has been a double whammy Olympics with Laurie not rven having a chance to try and go. Hope her knee heals up and can rhink about maybe worlds. I am happy for MyKayla Skinner I hope she qualifies for one event final, at least.

Well, the new relaxed regulations don't really work. When you give children/teenagers the choice to practice or not, or how much they practice, they will rarely chose to do the hard work. It is good for them on one hand, but that doesn't bring success.

I know injuries are common in gymnastics, but are they overworking Larissa? I know times have changed but I keep thinking of the Karolys in Romania starving Nadia and pushing their athletes too far. I would hope Romania would be better at this now, but this makes me worried...
I was wondering the same.
I don’t think so. Her coaches seem like very nice people, always cheering for her, even in her private life. You can see on her Instagram that they celebrate family events together, they like each other’s posts and they joke with her. Her coach even made a tattoo of the Olympic circles once Larisa qualified, although he is not a fan of tattoos, just because they had a bet together. I also saw him a couple of times when he was working with little gymnasts at the club and he seemed really dedicated and passionate about his job. I didn’t hear him screaming at them or anything like that and the little gymnasts seemed happy while waiting for the practice to start…

I really don't get what is "wrong" with her. She gets injured at/before every important competition. She either got injured at a certain point and didn't allow her body to recover so she started a vicious circle or she/the team has issues with the physical preparation. At this point, this isn't just bad luck anymore.
Exactly! Something is wrong with the preparation, the coaching, etc, it's just so many times to be just bad luck, but also other romanian were plagued with injuries in their senior career, Bulimar, Jurca, Ocolisan, Crisan... Something is very off
Prayers to Larissa, she’s had a rough time. Nobody should have to handle everything she’s had thrown at her.
She needs to rest and process everything that has happened.. heartache and body pain... poor baby.. so much to deal with..

I feel so bad for Lordache. I followed her since she was eight. She just can’t catch a break, and Romania could use more gymnasts like her. Their program is in shambles.

Why is Olivia not going to Florida, now? Does she not want to be at the same school as Riley? Are they estranged after both having the abusive Maggie Haney and Victoria Levine as their coaches?
Olivia's mother publicly spoke in defense of Maggie, basically called her mother absentee and very clearly, cares only about her daughter and her success. TheSkatingLesson said she's even suing Riley or Riley's mom, but I haven't seen any paperwork on that, so I haven't reported it.

It’s one or the other. I’m not entirely sure myself, because I’ve never seen the court dockets. But that’s what TSL stated.
Because of all this and because Riley is currently the better athlete, it was rumored that she told UF that she wouldn’t attend if Olivia is on the team.
That’s how Olivia ended up at Auburn.

Good luck to everyone in the Olympics and I hope everyone stays safe and healthy this dern new varient is spreading like wild fire. Really wish they wouldve cancelled them for another year especially seeing as how 90 or more athletes have tested positive for the virus. Smh again stay safe over there and for that matter everywhere! :-)
