I had a friend who has tons of roaches in his Honda Civic. He didn’t drive it for a couple months because he went to jail and they all disappeared. 😂

Ive owned a couple BMW's. 7 series though. A 96 740il and a 2000 740il. E38 was a mechanical masterpiece. Very reliable. Only had to replace my waterpump on the 96 after the 3rd year owning it. Both cars only had 2 previous owners and both sat for years before i bought them. 4.4 liter, naturally aspirated engine is a good one and 2001 was the last year they were made in Germany. The idrive is a bit too clunky for me. A lot of timeless nostalgia in the 95 to 2001 7 series. I urge you to check one out brother.

Grew up around an autoshop my Father's,his still beating cars at 72 yr old, appreciate the amount of work that you put into rebuilding cars,we done a few right offs new roofs front end,i once tryed to rewire a small car, nearly had a nervous breakdown set fire to carpet and that was a little late 80's Fiat,fix it again tomorrow, forget it always trouble jokes abound,got it for free sold it for 100 euro scrap and licked my burnt finger tips

Letting it sit for a while with three of those bug bomb foggers going off inside may have have been a better final step than just wheeling it into the garage. There are probably bugs in the vents and underneath the upper dash.

as a guy that had lived in roach infested house for years when i was younger i have never had a car that bad with roaches how the hell did they manage to make it so bad! also that car probably really stinks roaches make things smell absolutely horrid.

BMW Tan and Gray interiors are dirt cheap at junkyards even in near-mint condition. If you consider the labor to be free, it's absolutely worth it to just replace them if there's anything more than really basic cosmetic cleaning to do.

Nope, over here my car cost £600 so a bit more than $600 but has no warning lights on (apart from the battery this morning thanks to lockdown and not driving it enough!) and in the 3-4 years we have owned it has needed tyres and brakes and bulbs plus a couple of fuses. Just regular stuff. You can get really good cars for that money.

I noticed no oil pressure on the guage while cranking should have moved up a little I’d hook up a scanner and check the high pressure pump oil pressure for the injectors could be bad injectors leaking oil but oil pressure air and glow plugs are important for it to run and of course fuel but oil pressure a must 🤛🤛good luck
I've had two BMWs. A 2005 325i that I got used and it was amazing, no issues driving every day for two years. Then I got a 335D. I'll never buy another BMW unless there is a fantastic warranty and I'm selling it right before the warranty expires.

Roaches? thats a easy fix.. it only requires a medium sized car fire, some explosives, and that excavator that ended the life of your Lexus.

Now yes" your right the engine for long life has a lot to do with which BMW is going to last. Why! I have one 2010 328i E92 no I drive, no turbos, no electric steering, hydraulic please. And best of all m sport suspension, no,no,no, it is a blast to drive. I would have no other car, until I can afford a Ferrari or Lamborghini but for now the BMW so far after 150,000 miles still going strong. The only thing I have changed is the battery and the serpentine belt,, water temp sensor from BMW 30.00 bucks ok. But yes a nice running car. Years a fan of your channel. Love the content..
I have n52 engine on my x3 3.0i I love this car. Sometime I’m thinking to buy a brand new car but this old x3 won’t let me buy. Car has 18 years old but still reliable and also has more features than some brand new cars. The only issue it’s 4*4 system from what I heard. But i didn’t have that problem yet.

@@andrehemenes3186 I think a lot of these youtubers have moved away from common sense and into what they perceive to be the holy grail of increased viewership, exotic cars. I find exotic cars boring as hell. I like a depreciated icon that I can wrench on without fear of defaulting on my mortgage if I screw it up. Unsubbed from hovey, doug and was almost ready to give up Freddy but once in awhile he shines like this and I don't want to miss that.
@@oda0111 hoovie recently started his hooptie rescue again. I loved watching realistic cars and I think that once all of them started working on a lambo or a Ferrari it wasn’t special anymore. My favorite Hoovie of all time was his old stick shift $200 Lexus ES.

I worked on a friend's Spitfire once and it had a bunch of roaches in it, too. At least they were all in the ashtray.
Ahaha I once lost a huge roach of that kind in the back seat of my dads car when the transmission gave out on me, months later after I replaced the transmission to keep my privileges of using the car, I had nothing else to smoke and upon dropping my juul under the seat, the roach and a lighter came with it, I was set for the drive haha

Start with getting an older cheaper car with mechanical problems and not electrical. Skills come over time not overnight.

The M54 engines (early I-6 petrol E60s) are bullet proof.
My 530i has 199k miles on it. It's been fine apart from the occasional coils dropping out.

I just got my very first car, a BMW 525d E60 2005. Its absolutely beautiful and i LOVE that thing and all its flaws
I had a 2006 525i and kept it for 12 years since new. It was a great car and it did not have major issues and was very reliable. When I sold it had 140k on it.

Everyone who has never owned the n62 engine says they are unreliable. I have an e60 with the n62 engine V8. 302k miles and still strong.

Changing the carpet in a BMW is a nightmare. Literally EVERYTHING including dash has to come out. I still have PTSD from those. Great project Tavarish.

I would love to get my hands on this. Getting rid of roaches in a car isn't that hard. Also, make sure to masks up and glove up while cleaning and you be fine.

I daily drive a 2007 BMW X3 with 196k miles. Starts up no issue and drives like new besides needed new shocks all around. It has the same engine as yours so I guess the reliability makes sense lol
I almost forgot!! I got it from copart with some damage for only 900 dollars. No rust, new tires, interior smells like new somehow, and it has the auto level adaptive lights etc. I love it

@Alex V Do you know how many BIllable hours it is to rebuild an entire enterior? The only reason its affordable i because Tavarish is a skilled mechanic, that doesnt bill hours.

I mean you have to remember this channel is for primarily entertainment reasons, if he did stuff the easier route there would be less content to post. And honestly the interior of that car was pretty roached tf out, from what I can tell you can find another wrecked on pretty cheaply and just yank that interior out to use instead.

Also pretty sure there could be roaches/eggs still in allllll kinds of places. Would have been better to just like tent and bug bomb it kinda thing or have someone else detail it lol. Way cheaper than this for sure.
The N52 really hates boost. It cant really handle more than 5-8psi before rods start to bend, the block starts to crack etc. The N52 is nearly at its maximum potential from factory. The N52 out of the 330i and the 530i is the one you want really. It has the 3 stage intake manifold that brings it up to around 250hp. And the most the N52 can really handle is about 320-350. But its a very smooth and linear power band. And it stays reliable around 270hp which can be achieved with that 3 stage intake manifold, some headers, and a tune.
Those still get coil pack issues and water pump problems, sometimes the lifters start ticking but they can be 'bleeded', but it is still a good engine

Could have just used a ozone machine for a day or two with plastic or something sealing it up. Would have been more cost effective and would have killed all the roaches

That and getting rid of that one bad interior panel, along with the headliner and carpet would have been sufficient to call it a budget build as the rest could have been salvaged, fumigated and re-colored.
Ozone works amazingly well.

An ozone generator isn’t singlehandedly gonna cut it. You need to physically sanitize every inch and crevice of that car.

i owned and sold b m w,s they sucked . i had a m 6 in the late 80,s and the one thing that went bad was the number one valve stem wore down. it was a job but not that bad. oh also the speed sensors in the rear end went out. it was magnets. the in line 6 was the 109 engine aircraft until the p 51 the best fighter . the 640 i 6 is what i would like to have now. but if you want dependable stay below the year 2000 . you can fix them with out any help.
