Simple word, the E60 never look boring over time. I will still be happy to get one today.
A lot of car owners are unaware that BMW set the standard for car design. BMW is the most innovative automotive company in terms of design and technology. BMW started the idrive for all motor company to follow.
I own a twenty year old E61 530d M-Sport. It has not been messed with nor repainted and it is STUNNING. It turns heads wherever it goes. A true "CLASSIC"
Sweet. We only have a handful of 530d in Malaysia. Where are you commenting from?
@@KonWaiLuen I'm based in the UK.
I own an ‘04 530i with M54 engine, 6 speed manual sport edition with active suspension. Bought it new and do all maintenance myself. Great car and I’ll own it for many more years to come.
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing your experience!
E60 was my favourite car during uni time. I could only dream of having one
It still looks good until today
Good time to buy now!!
Only a low life Chinese can talk about controversy and have an E60 with AliExpress headlights 🤣🤣🤣🤣@@KonWaiLuen
This BMW E60 are still running on the road today!
Wow that owner REALLY loves his car, he has spent a lot doing up that 530i !!! I'm not keen on some of the mods, but that re-upholstering job was very nice indeed. Looked better than OEM in fact! The E60 is probably the freshest looking 20 year old car you can buy! E39 looks like an elegant classic vehicle now but the E60 almost looks like a model still made today.... Nicer than most of the current BMW lineup in fact. And the N52 is still one of the best mainstream motors ever produced.
Yeah, not everything in this car is to my taste, but this owner has invested a lot of sweat and tears onto this car!
I recently purchased a 2007, pre-facelift E60 525d and I can say that, at 200.000 km it runs and looks better than many other modern cars. I'm really happy with my purchase and I'm thoroughly enjoying every single ride with it. The car is quick, stable, comfortable, silent in the cockpit and feels like you can run it through a brick wall.
Thanks for sharing! We don't have many 525d in Malaysia. Which country are you from?
@@KonWaiLuen sure thing. I'm from Romania. One thing that really impressed me is the condition the car was in at 200.000 km, most of which were driven in Romania, which isn't known for having the best roads, if you know what I mean.
I have previously owned a 2007 Renault Megane 2 Sedan which was only driven for 140.000 km and was in very poor condition. The E60 is a very, very well built car.
530D will always be my favourite model..power is always there, engine is bulletproof and fuel consumption is fantastic, if im ever getting another 5 series will definitely look for n57 engine, i love diesel lol....
Good hunting, not many N57s in Malaysia, though I do know of two F10 535d that made it here.
I owned an E63 630i for almost 4 year with with n52 engine more than 200k mileage. it's a bullet proof engine with proper maintenance.
hey can i ask you how much your maintenance costed on your car?
What A wonderful review... This guy sounds as professional presenter!!! It was nice to listen and to watch , really. Good job!!!!
Thank you for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it!
Best e60 review on the tube. I'm planning to get one by the end of the year
Try consider 545i or 550i N62 V8 still great cars in this modern era
Best looking 5 series. Chris Bangle is a genius. Prophet!
Davide arcangeli design it! look it up
Best BMW design in history
Really enjoyed the video, my uncle used to own a 2008 e60 530i with the n52 engine, was a rocketship and he faced no major issues during his 9 years of ownership 👍
Thanks for sharing. The E60 is really a hardier car than it is reputed to be.
sweet work Kon
Bought it already with the M54 not regretting
Great info keep it up I liked the E60 but afraid of the maintenance.
Just got an 2010 e60 535i w drive. It’s a lovely car and a blast to drive.
Hi there! From North America? As far as I know, only US and Canada had the E60 535i!
I own a 2005 BMW 545i sport 170000 miles love driving this car I have had it for 9 years.
That's awesome. We don't have many 545is in Malaysia, our road tax system too heavily skewed against large capacity engines.
I have mine for 5 years.. She is a beast ❤️
I do always feel blessed to have had the opportunity owning a 2007 e60 523i lci... amazing machine...good mix of style, performance and reliability; and yes my e60 chassis was strengthened by KL auto
You memang already Style bro.

e60 love it.
Now you're getting me into the E60 ... hahaha. Great option to look at. I actually like the E60 interior design more then the W211.
Go check a few cars out!
Am a fan of the e60 . Bmw is my family legacy
255,000 miles on my n52 2006 530xi. Love this machine.
Nice video..im a owner of E60 Msport..timeless design I would say.
Nice, come share your ownership experience!
Beautiful... I own the non-M5 E60, to me personally the E60 still looks stunning. Love that E60's front lip diffuser in this video Kon, i will buy one..hehe.. To anyone who wants to own an E60, u can get it below 35k but u need to standby 10k for unforeseen problems and try to buy the car from an individual seller, u able to ask what are the problems and the changes has been made.
Yours is a 530i right? Valid advice. 40-50k is a good budget to set aside to buy and fix and E60 to running condition
@@KonWaiLuen yes 2008 530i facelift. Still lovin it until now. I was lucky coz i found it from mudah and it was from an individual seller. 3 years of ownership, i can say i already spent 10k on it including changing the tyres. It's a continental car, can't expect the price of maintenance similar to my waja campro.
@KCH Rider1988 RM10k for 3 years is RM3k/year nia. Samore you stay in Kuching, your running cost is less than RM5k/year!
@@KonWaiLuen ya, last year i changed the whole suspension, boosh, tie-rod end and etc and it costs me nearly 4k. Last month i changed the tyres and it costs me 2k plus. My mechanic recommended that i can use OEM parts and original parts when it involves the engine.
@@KCHRider Is your bmw mechanic good & cheap ? Mind to share whereabouts in kch ? Thanks.
Im impressed with your video, Uncle Kon! I appreciate your video suggestion to review the E38. I really like the car appearance and its timeless design. If I am considering buying it in the used market, is it important to consider the condition of its wear and tear parts and maintenance costs and compare with E39 and E46 models to see if the E38 is more expensive to maintain.
Mechanically, the E38 is no different to maintain than an E39 if you're looking at the 728i - the only 6-cylinder model of the range. The V8 models, yes, those engines need a bit more TLC. Your biggest problem with E38 will always be trim parts, those need more effort to source.
Had it back in 2007 and now bought one in 2022 525d M57 engine D30TU. Fast reliable and good looking deep sea blue metallic with beige cream leather and murdered out look .. black alloys dechrome etc.
Here you can get 2k-3.5k sterling with 100k miles. That’s 12K Ringits -20k.
We didn't have many E60 diesels here, although the 530d did make an impact in our market at a time.
The e60 is a fucking beauty
The design has aged rather well. Still looks modern!
Great video. I have the urge to buy E60 rather than F10 after watching this video.
Thanks to the owner spend so many money and effort to refurbish it to such a amazing condition
Buy buy!!
ah active steering the pinnacle of BMW hydraulic steering. It rarely goes wrong but mine did, took it to a shop and guess what they said? Needs steering rack replace no joke. I can't even reset it using ISTA, the car keeps thinking my steering is -40 degrees even when it's straight (after cleaning SZL). Good thing if it fails you can still drive it as normal besides the annoying fault message.
I bought my an E60 on February this year. Would like to know which shop dose this owner did his interior restoration.
uncle Kon
a good video
to me the styling has become somewhat timeless now, not pretty the style that people want it to be but it got its own charm
I owned a 520i 150 hp E39 and a 528i E39 manual with M Sport Pack and the beautiful 17 inch BBS BMW wheels which have been a factory option back in 1999. Then i have owned a e46 323ci manual and a E46 325ti compact with the 6 speed manual. Now i own a E60 523i sedan with a 6 speed manual. All of them BMWs were so reliable and beautiful to drive. My absolute Dream Car BMW though are the Alpina BMW‘s 🤩 Though my money is not enough I would always prefer the Alpina BMW from the M BMW 😎 Lot of greetings to you guys from Germany 🇩🇪 You are doing a great job 👌🏼
That's a very extensive collection you had. Which is your favourite among them?
@@KonWaiLuen
To be honest: I like them all really. But if i would have to pick one and decide which one to keep, I would have chosen the E39 528i 😎 Because it was in beautiful Biarizz Blue Color with black leather interior and those BBS RC 090 rims and M Sport Pack.
If I would still own an E39 nowadays, I wouldn’t sell it anymore 👌🏼 Prices for E34 and E39 as well as E36 and E46 are rising and rising in Germany too because proper maintained and stock cars are getting more and more rare 😎 Especially the Inline 6 Cylinder engines.
@mg4263 wow.... how much would it cost to pick up a good E39 in Germany today?
Depending on the engine of course….the more hp the higher its value. 528i in mint condition start at 11.000 EUR and above, and an M5 costs actually almost the same amount it cost new 🙈 There was a time where you could get a 540i in good condition for about 4 to 5000 EUR, but this is about 10 years ago 😂
@@mg4263 damn.. the prices here in Malaysia are a relative steal!!

- Plus Performance, USJ
I’m in search for headlights exactly like that! Except I’m in New York and mines a 2008
These came from Taiwan, I believe. Perhaps you can search on Ebay?
Can install paddle shift?
I owned an e60 n52 lci with 3++k mileage.. and the engine still run smoothly on the highway.. so no doubt that e60 is reliable car. U just need to find the right workshop to treat this beauty. And off course, the part price is not as cheap as old national car(gen2, neo, persona), but still cheaper then the new national car (x series)😂 the ckd version when it comes to system/technology i can tell u, still great even for 13years old car.
Yes, the E60 is tougher and more robust than most people give it credit for. But didn't help that in early years, a lot of cars were ruined by incompetent or dishonest workshops.
Bro, I just viewed the same model with similar mileage. Should I proceed with the purchase?
@@zorhalifhosni3669 should bring expert to inspect first and standby certain amount of money. Just proceed bro
the latest 5 series will be the new controversial design lol
Pre LCI with n52 or post LCI straight away? I like all the toys of the late model but the pre LCI has a bit more foreard thinking luxurious feel for me
I'll go LCI anyday, but if you're happy with pre-LCI, can get them at more attractive prices.
@@KonWaiLuen What's the pro and cons or some killer perks and features between the LCI and pre-LCI ? I know LCI has the joy stick and newer i-drive.
is the 530i the most reliable than it's other versions? i own an 523i and it's still going strong, the only major issue in it's lifespan was the transmission fault lol
BMW engines tend to have similar reliability within the same engine family regardless of capacity. So, all the six-cylinder models, be it 520i, 523i, 525i, or 530i, have similar problems and maintainance.
But if you look at, say, the V8 545i or the later four-cylinder 520i, they are not as reliable as the six-cylinder models.
@@KonWaiLuen alright thanks

Yes . Bmw is truly a great driving machine.
But need to pamper it alot😅.
Cars are designed to serve us. But with bmw it's the other way round😅.And the world still praises it alot 😅
Hi Kon, I've never owned any continental car before, I am considering a year 2009 E90 2.5 liter M Sport face-lift at rm 40,000, the car looks decent enough , but I'm worry that E90 model would have many mechanical issues, do u think it's a good vehicle for a 1st time bmw onwer ? Appreciate ur feedback, thank you
Safe to buy la. Watch out on
- cooling system
- engine oil consumption
- active steering

Just avoid the V8s and you'll be fine. Go for the 525i or 530i.

It's not the most reliable, but it's more reliable than most people make it up to be.
@KonWaiLuen only for younger crazy fans
In uk, they call BMW thugs car
E60 are never ugly from the start, but just not as handsome and classy as e39.
E39 sets the bar too high. 😂
@KonWaiLuen. Why was the E60 520i discontinued?
When the E60 switched from M54 to N52 engines, the 520i was given the 2.0-litre N46 4-cylinder engine from the E90 320i.
That variant was available in Singapore, but was not sold in Malaysia as the performance would have been too weak for our tastes.
may i ask your opinion about engine reliability from bmw 530i g30?
To me G30 has less problem bcoz the G30 is still new.
G30 is overall pretty reliable
Hi Kon ! video awak sangat menarik 👍🏻
nak tanya.. saya ni berminat nak beli E60 cash.. bajet dalam 30K.
Saya ada beberapa soalan :
1. mana yang paling senang nak jaga antara 523i,525i atau 530i ?
Kebocoran kecil bukan hal besar, tapi perlu diperbaiki sebelum memudaratkan enjin. Last, periksa suspension tengok sama ada bushing semua dalam keadaan baik..
Selamat memburu!
