I attempted the same approach with my RT, but they remained firm on the price. Despite showing them it had been listed for over 100 days, they insisted on a $10,000 down payment. They cited banks' uncertainty about the market, but suggested financing through Chrysler Capital at a 7% interest rate with a rebate they have yet to reveal. And that lame pitch talking about these car are moving off the lots fast ( yea right ) sad.

The biggest issue is the price. The MSRP on these cars has been pushed up close to $10,000. I bought my Dodge charger, a hellcat and 2016 for just $75,000 on its sticker. No markup. Now you’re forced to pretty much buy wide bodies which have already been marked up to closer to $89,000.
Secondly: you have the dealer market adjustments for inflation. $15,000 for anything with a hemi in it. $20,000-$30,000 for anything with a hellcat or redeye engine in it. That’s just stupid. Insurance companies will not cover the car beyond its market retail price.
Thirdly: insurance is skyrocketing. Not only because these cars are most stolen but also because these cars are inherently dangerous, and these idiots keep getting into accidents with them or doing stupid shit on the road such as takeovers.
Fourthly: I’m not surprised that these cars aren’t selling because to be perfectly honest the charger and challenger are played out. They are boring now to anybody older than 13. These cars have been on the market for over 10 years at this point.

I agree with all that had been said. I’d like a new scat or cat but for the price, there are a ton of really good options.
You can get a bimmer, Benz, Audi or other luxury brand with similar power, comfort and a better dealership experience for the buck.
These cars are awesome but at the end of the day, once the vroom, vroom element is out of your system, you’re stuck with an extremely high payment, insurance, tax and fuel related vehicle.
All in your running costs are close to $2k per month and you have to worry about a pistol to the dome, ride around with a Glock or be scarier than a chihuahua in a kennel full of pit bulls.

It’s the prices the MSRP has gone up solely because of hype of the Hellcat trims and up not because performance upgrades. Dodge has turned their back on this fake “brotherhood of muscle” nonsense. That term only applies to Hellcat trims and higher they don’t care about anything naturally aspirated. Their number one selling cars aren’t even the Hellcat trims and up it’s the 3.6 V6 engines, 5.7 Hemi and 6.4 Scatpack in that order. So tell me why none of those cars have received any type of revision over the years?
Whether with added power or drivetrain and suspension either one could’ve been touched and hasn’t in over 10yrs. There is absolutely no reason why at least the 5.7 and 6.4 didn’t get a drivetrain and suspension upgrade 6-7yrs ago if they didn’t want to add power. The MSRP for the R/T and Scatpack have increased $10K-$20K over the years and it’s been the same exact cars since 2015 nothing has changed. You use to be able to get a 5.7 R/T under $30K so why has the MSRP increase to $11K in 2018-2024?
So for a $11K increase they could’ve gave both the R/T and Scatpack the Hellcat transmission that cost $4K-$6K, aluminum driveshaft $900-$1,200, Dragpak suspension kit $1,100-$1,500, 275/305 $200-$300 Mickey street/Nitto street tires. Now if you add all that up that’s still under $11K Dodge has scammed their entry level muscle car owners. The ones that literally carry your company because they been turned their back on the commuter car owners and pickup truck owners. It’s no reason why Dodge doesn’t have at least 1-2 commuter cars like a Honda Accord and Nissan Altima and 1 medium size pickup truck like the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and GMC Canyon Elevation AT4.

Plus being in Ohio, I'd only be able to drive her 4-5 months out of the year. It sucks. At the time I bought her, I traded my 19 Scat Pack standard body ( 6 speed manual) in. Was able to pick up the Widebody for $47500 ( March of 21). Can't believe the prices currently. What was the dealership you posted in a previous video of all the Challengers and Chargers? Listen, I don’t think people are worried about buying cars and trucks when they can’t even afford to live - have you been to a grocery store lately? Hell even rent is far too expensive these days - But what put all that on hold and buy $100,000 car or truck? Thats crazy

Besides the high prices on the Mopars, there's two factors that are playing out that people are coming grips/ reality checking in:
1: the high prices translates to high property taxes people are getting hammered with at the end of the year.
2: these vehicles are becoming "dated", people are looking at Chrysler & anticipating / looking towards what the next era of performance sports cars are to come out. "All eyes on Statlantis" ball's in their hands, but they're fumbling it.
They're nice, & gorgeous cars, but let's face it- they've aged... & Absolutely nobody is wanting a Hornet/ nobody's wanting an EV all electric junk. You can not beat the V8's it tingles all the human senses. Well, you can beat it: The Viper V10 🤟🏼
This would be awesome if Chrysler says: "We'll stopping the productions of the V8's but in place We're Mass produce a V10 Hemi..." 🤟🏼 that would be epic.

They increased prices to try and make up for the CAFE fines they were paying for these high HP vehicles. With high HP comes more emissions and poor fuel economy, the exact opposite of what the government is asking auto manufacturers to be doing and there are some pretty steep fines for that. Ford for example is able to keep producing a V8 Mustang because they have vehicles that help offset those higher emissions and poorer MPG numbers the V8 Mustang has.
Dodge on the other hand put all of their eggs into the high HP muscle car basket and it worked....until it didn't. They failed to offer other vehicles in the Dodge lineup that were fuel efficient and got rid of the ones that were to make up for the poor emissions and MPG numbers the high HP vehicles they were producing. In the end, they basically screwed themselves and now they're in a big pickle where they have a really old vehicle lineup other than the Hornet. And they've totally dropped everything they were known for because they were basically forced to which has completely pissed off it's customer base and they've made it really hard on themselves. It'll be really interesting to see how they deal with this in the future.
The Hornet and vehicles like this should have come out a couple of years ago and I think they would have been better received than they are today. Now, Dodge is forced to offer these vehicles and are now forced to get rid of the vehicles people admired so they're hating on vehicles like the Hornet (or anything else they come out with) because its not a Hellcat. They probably should have either kept the Dart around and vastly improved it and/or kept the Journey around (or a vehicle like it) and again, vastly improved it. Dodge did the bare minimum with the Dart and it showed. It was a forced vehicle by the government as part of their bailout and Dodge did the bare minimum to get the Dart to market. They could have made a really nice vehicle with the Dart and it could still be on the road today if they played their cards right. They needed to put some effort into vehicles like the Dart, Hornet, and Journey could have been Dodge's hybrid/EV lineup which would have bought them more time with the Challenger and Charger, hopefully with totally brand new vehicles on new platforms with new powertrains. There are people who like the Dodge brand but couldn't care less about actually owning a Scat Pack or Hellcat Charger/Challenger.
Dealership's aren't helping Dodge either with their crazy and absolutely ridiculous markup's and just poor service all around. Dodge really needs to step on this and take charge. I'm not sure what the best approach is with this but they definitely need to do something. It's a huge problem for them and it seems like everyone knows it. I wish Dodge could just pull dealer franchises for those who are just out to screw customers over for their own benefit. These types of dealerships will never ever help the Dodge brand (or Jeep/RAM/Chrysler) and they don't need to exist. I'd rather have 2,000 or 3,000 good dealerships than 5,000 dealerships where 90% of them are just a terrible buying/ownership experience.

Guys, I’m a market analyst and this is something everyone fails to see because they are just looking at the quantity to date. FCA left Stellantis a mess during the transition and for Stellantis part as an overseas carmaker, they were just trying to cater to the popular trend and present vehicles that the customer wanted. Pricing did become an issue but for a while they had customers that were willing to pay anything. As we look at 2024, everyone is harping on inventory. Well what in 2024, does Stellantis have to offer. This large inventory was done on purpose to try to continue to draw sells on the vehicles. The dealers are holding prices because this is a year they have to truly worry about profitability because Stellantis is giving them nothing of value to sell. The Hornet is a failure. The Wagoneer is priced like a Land Rover but built like a Lincoln. Ram pulls out sells eventually but the dealers have worries for 2024 and 2025 is too late to wait for new inventory.
