Scat packs used to be 40-50k now they’re 80-100k, hellcats used to be 60-75k now they’re 120-150 and more. Dodge is dead.

@@geehoon1985 I live in the Bay Area so everything’s expensive but 20-30k markups on scats and 40-60k markups on cats? The cheapest scats I’ve seen are around 75ish and the cheapest hellcats I’ve seen are 120.

Im an electrical engineering student so Ill comment on the 800V. When you double the voltage (most electric cars are 400V right now), you can get more power from the motors and generate less heat doing it, which means if you track your daytona it can run for longer before going into limp mode. Electric cars are limited pretty hard by heat generation once you really beat on them because "hot" for a battery is like 130-150 degrees Fahrenheit, when "hot" for a lot of ICE engine components is ~250 degrees Fahrenheit. But this really makes a difference when charging, since you're trying to pump as many electrons into the battery as fast as possible, so the Daytona should be able to charge pretty fast as long as you can find a charger that supports the 800V. You cant really convert volts to horsepower though, this would be like trying to convert the flow rate of your fuel injectors into horsepower lol

The EPA is relaxing its fuel efficiency requirments. It wouldn't suprise me if a more fuel efficient V-8 is released in addition to the turbo charged straight six in 2025.
Doubt it. It is WAY easier for them to ditch the Hemi and even the Pentastar engines for the Hurricane. The I4 and I6 are made with the same production line and don't have as many variants that exist for different applications as the V6 and V8. If they make more ICE vehicles in the future they will all most certainly have the 2.0 and 3.0 engines. Once they drop the 392 in the Rams for either the 3.0 or a gas version of the Cummins it'll be a wrap. 😢
The CARB states force the manufacturers to accommodate their strict requirements. Federal gov doesn’t matter much right now

Idc what people say but I would take a Porsche 911 992 GT3 over any American V8! And yes it’s a 4.0 Flat 6 cylinder! As much as I love v8’s, that GT3 is no joke. Horsepower IS NOT everything!

I began to think about this. I have a winter vehicle that's a KIA Soul with only 140? HP. I also have my T/A 392 that i store in the winter months. I imagined if the KIA had 500 HP would i enjoy it more, and the answer is no. I hate when i step on the throttle it barely makes a noise. I hate that it doesn't inspire conversation. I hate that i almost walk into the house forgetting that i still have the car on because it's so damn quiet. I hate the lack of rear wheel response when i step on it. I hate how it looks like every other box SUV on the road. It's not my 392 T/A Challenger that gives me a reason to get out of the house. So, if Dodge releases an EV/Hurrican I6 engine, i'm going to more than likely bow out. I'll keep my 392 and maybe get a newer year model. I guess that's the end of the road unless they stick to the V8 engines.

It basically means the car can charge faster and is more energy efficient.
For PERFORMANCE you need to look at the $100,000 Tesla Plaid Model S (3 motors and 1010HP) or $250,000 Lucid Sapphire (3 MOTORS and 1200 HP)
For DODGE to compete, they need a TRI MOTOR layout or a QUAD MOTOR layout (Rivian R1S and R1T have Quad Motors and 835 HP).
Guess what: if you think DEMON pricing is bad, anything Dodge releases even remotely close to that output will cost you well over $100,000 lol.

I can guarantee that an EV with 3 motors will blow away any V8. They will have massive HP and monster torque. But speed without an engine environment will not win the Mopar folks. And you can't have that much EV power without a huge price-tag. The Lucid Sapphire EV: 1234HP, 0-60 in 1.89sec, top speed 205mph, 427mi range. $249,000. That's the park Dodge has to play in now.
There may be some people dumb enough to pay upwards of $100,000 for a Dodge, but not enough to sustain the brand. They should be thinking Tesla Model 3 Performance numbers (0-60 in 3.1 and under $50,000).

Just a thought. Any chance they put the engine setup that's in the 2025 Ram Ramcharger in the Dodge Charger? The ICE engine would be a generator for the electric motors to the wheel.
You know who did a badass EV? The Ford MachE 1400. That thing actually sounds like a Banshee. Really cool car. I thought for sure Dodge would do that way and make something completely insane, something that screams from the electric motors, something that is just insanely overpowered like how the Hellcat hp blew everyone's minds. This EV better be good.
For those that have an interest in doing BURNOUTS I would think the WEIGHT of this e-v model will do MORE DAMAGE to those tires than the combustibles which I would assume replacing even quicker at a higher expense…. Also driving in that hazardous manner could damage the battery , which from what had been said even minor dents could mean in some cases replacement or totaling the vehicle

Factz man nobody ain’t gonna buy this car for 80k or even 50k or more. They gotta do something to keep their fanbase because the Challenger and Charger are their main bread and butter when it comes to sales nowadays. And seeing the rise in price for cars in this crazy economy, charging over 50k is gonna sink their stock prices. They gonna become the Xbox and WarnerBros of Cars, in both of those had a amazing blueprint until they nuke themselves these past 10 years.
Testing time I don't think Dodge had enough testing time for this car. Racing always improves the breed and nobody has ever seen that yet.

I believe that they will offer the electric option and the in-line six option but you gonna be able to opt to get the V8 setup in direct connection after you buy the car for the ice version
The V6 cars had the Last Call badge. Wouldnt doubt it if "all electric" is the only option.

There's got to be some SRT ice version coming because EV's aren't selling. At the very least they should have a hybrid or over 600 hp Hurricane SRT. Auto manufacturers like GM and Hyundai just announced they are now focusing on hybrids and less on EV's. Dodge with their financial problems should wisely do the same.

@@ttamcc.4674 Last month. GM is going to start introducing hybrid and plug in hybrids and Hyundai is working on Genesis hybrids and plug-ins. Sure you can find videos on RUclips. The woman at GM basically said your not going to see any new EV's from them but a whole lot of hybrids across the board.

Not to mention brands like BMW, Mercadies, Toytoa have also stated they will be holding back on EV's.

Yeah right I got 2 ev cars both say miles and I get half I charge every other day and drive less than 150 miles I lose over 300 miles. I love how the ride feel I hate the maintenance I got beef and new friends from charging stations. Pissed it’s not just working out

Bought a ‘23 Daytona scat pack, clunk in the rear they can’t fix. After 7 weeks at dealer , doing a buyback. Interior is cheap on these but sound, motor and body are nice. Buy a wide body now or move on?
Just invested in Stellantis in case there is a good reaction to this whole thing. 🤞, but i only invested like 20 because im not confident

Hopefully they drop current prices of 23s when the 24s start to hit. My local dealer has some beautiful scats just waiting to be bought and I would definitely be interested in one. Hellcats is out of my reach right now and sadly will always be if things don't change.

Looks bad for Dodge, and its dealers prices are just way too high on their cars . The only way Dodge can get back in the game is to redesign the Hemi, make it more fuel efficient without the turbo
It will have to run with the Tesla Model 3 Performance and do it for the same price. Otherwise, it will be just another dumb mistake, like the Hornet.

Personally I really like the look of it. It may not please a lot of people, but I wanna give it a shot.
The styling is great, and it does have pretty crazy numbers for performance.
If markup isn't awful and they make a hybrid I6 version that would be something I'd get.
Base EV on the other hand, I still like it, but I'd like it more with that I6

BOTTOM LINE: you'd better have a HOUSE and you'd better have a HOME CHARGER.
I have a Lectron Vbox. It's a LEVEL 2 HOME CHARGER operating at 40 amps (the highest you can typically go is 48 Amps when you hardwire a home charger). That charges the car to 100% in about 7 hours. Overnight while you sleep - no problem.
In public, the fast chargers will take you around 45 min to 1 hour.

I see nothing in the pipeline that holds any interest for me.
Sadly, even if the brand lives on for a few years, Dodge is dead.

Regardless of what Dodge may present that we haven't seen. I doubt the car will be that appealing to us RT/Scat Pack/Hellcat owners who would be the ones to buy. Ford will be dropping new mustang models eventually too.

I hope they would change they body. I liked the prototype, I hated the camouflage thing, I hope they can find something in between at least. And of course, just like Knockout 360 said, HP and Torque numbers will play a HUGE role in a decision factor for people who are in their early 20's late 30's. Kids who are still younger than 10 WILL jump on electrical wagon, because that is all they will know 8 years from now.

@@tevonruss6156 Yeah, but they had screens everywhere and the interior felt so cheap. Also I figured they'd go down with one last actual American muscle car, not American sports car. I'm not opening my wallet for that. I bought a Scat instead. I couldn't be happier. The 5.0 motor is good though, I wish it was attached to a car that is desirable.
11:45 the jeep wagoner situation seems like dodge’s return of the charger & challenger in 2006. They didn’t last, and had issues especially in the engine. Dodge has to be 1000% sure that what they’re selling, would last. But it’s Dodge after all, I’d buy a Tesla over any other company’s ev. I do hope that engine swaps of I6s are possible with hellcats!

@@JRLL81_ the reason for saying 2000hp is because I have a hellcat and the most power I can get out of my block that’s tested stock as of now is 2000whp and still didn’t blow. So to me if your going to take the best hemi production block ever made away and replace it with an i6 that’s an aluminum block then it better be able to make equivalent or more on the OEM stock block and I know it won’t. Was more rhetorical than anything else. See people who buy dodge and buy their top tier v8 like to race and are highly competitive against Chevy and ford. So if you can understand this change pissed off a lot of racers. For the street having heavy cars the slowest hellcat in 15 had 707 hp we don’t go backward in a world where cars are only getting faster that’s like saying your okay with duo core processor today.
