L!Lucina and L!Claude's flip will always be sick to me
When F!Edel basically just karate chops you with her fist got a laugh out of me - now it just upsets me since that fist wipes out my entire team 😞
I enjoy the legendary ones the best.

You know something else that doesn't get much attention in this game? The background art. Like, some of the art seen in the battles is actually really beautiful, but we're all understandably focused on the characters.

I think my personal favourite is the one for the Legendary Azura battle. It looks so neat but it appears in one legendary battle and a tempest trial from years ago.
The battle on the cliff at sunset in book 4 also looks great. Hell, all of book 4s backgrounds look beautiful
The fact they adapt if the fight is in the woods only add to the detail too!

At first I thought this was a meme video because of the thumbnail and title but once I saw the lenght and who it was from I realized it was legit. Anyway this was a cool video, I mostly play with animations off so I don't always look at the animations but there really are some cool ones, also a small detail but around the start of gen 3 if I remember correctly all sprites in FEH started having 5 fingers instead of 4 like the earlier ones.

Seeing this caused me to look at my category of heroes and during Ferdinand's ready up or battle entrance he quickly winks. Though that was a really cool detail.
Magic animations are some of my personal favorites. Seeing SNES and GBA spell animations, like Valflame or Gleipnir, reimagined and modernized and seeing animations from the 3D games, like Cymbeline or Dark Spikes T, represented in 2D is absolutely wonderful in my opinion.
See, this is one of the reasons this game is so great, and you really showed the beauty of these animations. And the memes worked well here, too!
This video was just a little too early with Ashera coming in to Powercreep animations
Comment question: I've gotta love L!Dimitri whacking the shit out of his enemies, Nowi hocking a Dragon snot lugie at her enemies, Resplendent Azura's phase start animation, Yune's attack animation, Sothis just flying in the air (they couldve made her a flying tome unit but they decided to go with the cooler option instead).
My all time favourite for now has to be Linhardt's idle animation. He's just standing there. Sassily.
It would have been cool to see some analysis comparing FEH's animations to, say, the 12 principles of animation, but aside from that, this was just a fun video to watch with nice edits and I gotta respect a video that uses Stickerbush Symphony.
Wait? People turn off animations?! They're missing out the fun and there are so many nice details that makes each character unique. I only turn off animations when I grind and I hate it when I forget to turn it back on when I'm not grinding. If only there was a setting "No Combat Animation for Auto"

There's also the fact that other than a couple of the tomes that aren't actually tomes like the loyal wreath, the inheritable weapon sprites and animations still work fine for characters they weren't originally intended for.
Before this video I was looking at idle animations like "huh nobody talks about these" and scrolled thru my whole unit list. Tanya and Midori have notable idle
Animations were always one thing that I always loved when it came to video games. Admittedly for some reason I never stopped to really appreciate how some of the animations are in this game, so this video helped me realize that grave error. Great video!

this was a super well edited and fun video!! even better, it's on a topic i thought no one cared about lol. the sprites are definitely one of favorite parts of the game, and they've improved so much! on newer alts of older characters, you can see they update the base sprite to make the hair look nicer, which they didn't do before. it's a super nice touch! (for an example just compare the sprites of the male corrin alts)

When I first played Fe Heroes I lokey couldn't believe how smooth the animations looked.
Not sure if anybody noticed, but og Alm has always had his sword in his left hand. Nothing big, but pretty cool attention to detail that can go unnoticed.
This video makes me appreciate the animations more than I did. I too like to sit and wait for Bramimond to finish in 3 years.
Whenever I see Legendary Lucina's animation, I always had the tendency to say, "Parkour" (ever watched the Office?). And now I wait for the time when I see Legendary Corrin's animation and yell Berkut's signature "UNCLE!"
Between Loki's getting comfy as an introduction on battle-entrance animations and L.Azura drowning people, I don't know what I should appreciate more in this video. Seriously, well-done. This was a real treat to watch.
My favourite animation is micaiah resplendent, yune jumps off her head on her hand it’s is so freaking adorable
They really go ham with the mages special animations. Looking at Ashera literally doing a Genshin Impact wish, throwing that 5* at the enemy. Or Sothis summoning a new dimension just for shits and giggles. Can't wait for Gauntlet units to finally arrive at some point, they CAN'T avoid them forever. I wish we'd get more backgrounds, and the summoning videos we got in the first year.. I miss 'em. I'd be content if these movies were shown for the new Banner videos on RUclips, that'd be more than enough for me. It's just pure eye candy. And the idle animations for flying units are really cool, or especially beast winged ones, the movement look so smooth.

An interesting unit animation-wise is Surtr. He's not a legendary unit, but he gets a unique kill animation as if he was.
Watching this now makes me want to see a video of all the unique ready for battle animations

I always turn the animations on than I play the story and the side quests for the first time so it kinda feels like a real Fire Emblem game. I can see how the characters attack the enemy and what the enemy says when they are defeated and I can hear the special boss music. It feels so much more real and satisfying to play like this. The animation, the music, the art everything is just so amazing in this game. Thank you for showing that I love your high quality videos :)

I love the animations. While I do spend a fair amount of gameplay with animations off, I will occasionally turn them on especially for new heroes. I like tome animations because there are so many different ones. Mythic and Legendary units are also incredible.

I just come to say that the animations where the characters levitate their weapons are one of my favorites. like ishtar and lewyn who give a certain air of superiority and veterans in the use of magic. Also the animation of the avatar using physical weapons I also like that they levitate since they show that our character is not made for this form of fight but can still fight in this way and also because it reminds me of 9s from nier automata.
Heck yeah. Haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet, but it’s great to see analysis. I hadn’t even noticed a lot of this stuff, like the idle animations in battle!
I love all the different animations and I’m so happy someone made an excellent video about them! :D

I love the animations for this game! :D Aside from just any given character being turned into a cute marketable chibi, I absolutely love the care that's given to the poses. My favorite battle-ready pose is all the Claudes twirling their arrows just like in 3H, but my favorite Mythic/Legendary finishing animation goes to either Legendary Lyn or Legendary Ike. Their acrobatics are always so cool!
Just found this video and surprised you didn't mention Zephiel since outta all the base units, he was to my knowledge the first to have a unique attack animation that wasn't reused from some other unit. He spins his sword a lot since he do be spinning in his original appearance
And yes while we didn't get him till later on as a ghb. He was part of the story maps so we knew he was coming just when
