i like how Pichu deals more damage than pikachu when using electric moves cuz it releases more electricity, but the extra damage is recoiled onto itself it a good explanation to why the weaker form of a pokemon deal more damage also i think the reason mewtwo is so light (aside from balance reasons) is because its using agility/lightening itself with its psychic power for more movement speed t the coast of weight
One small note for Jiggly: it’s somewhat less but still cute evolution Wigglytuffs Pokédex entry (one of them at least) says that when it gets angry, it puffs up it’s body and gets quite large. Maybe that’s also the idea with the FS?
Fun fact about Greninja: There was actually an event Pokémon of Greninja based on the Smash Bros version for Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire in 2014, It was distributed via club Nintendo. It uses all the same moveset as it’s Smash Bros counterpart.
Honestly I'm still shocked it never happened in the dlc. Seems like the perfect marketing opportunity even if it probably wouldn't have been to popular
I know a lot of people get angry over the weight of the Pokèmon but I don’t get why. The weight in the Pokèdex is an average weight of that type of Pokèmon. Pokèmon GO showed there could be light or heavy variants of Pokèmon.
Therotically yes... But (I don't know if they patched this nowadays honestly) they implement this a bit weird. I remember a screenshot, where someone had a Pidgeot which was around 10 gram heavy and 7 cm tall... The "normal" ones in the Pokedex are around 1,5 meter tall and 39,5 kg heavy
I'd like to say a couple of things about Jigglypuff. First, Rollout can be great in the actual Pokémon games, depending on the rest of your moveset, the opponents, the team, etc. If Jigglypuff were to deal big damage, Rollout would be a good bet, perhaps after setting up with Defense Curl first. However, in Ultimate, as far as I understand, the move is completely useless. Even if you break shield, isn't that why Rest is there? Speaking of Rest, they did capture how it _feels_ to use Rest in her smash incarnation. Like in the main games, you have to use it at a good time, or you'll be punished. In the Pokémon games it's for different reasons though, and timing is purely turn based. Should I risk a Sing before going for a Rest? Or perhaps I'll live two turns while asleep and just using Rest is safer. should I bring in [Encore user] to lock the opponent into a harmless move? In Smash, you're also asking yourself questions if you're not a pro, just as Pokémon pros and smash pros alike tend to just know right away if Rest is safe to go for in their respective games. Obviously a move that fully heals you wouldn't work in smash, so I think they handled Rest perfectly. Definitely one of my favorite translations in the series.
You didn’t factor in the different variants of pikachu like gmax pikachu and partner pikachu from let’s go Also ash’s pikachu from the anime would be the closest comparison because the Pokémon from smash are based on their anime counterparts So smash pikachu is probably based on ash’s pikachu power/stats wise which explains why it’s so busted
As a kid, I thought Pikachu canonically would be a very strong character because in the anime it shot electric bolts like laser beams for like 5 seconds at a time, imagine the pain the opponents are going though... But yeah in-game it sucks, and on smash it's busted because of it's moves being great smash moves.

a year late, but i would like to point out that light ball is FAR more busted than you give it credit for here. it doesn't just double your base attack and special attack. the x2 multiplier is only applied after taking into account EVs, IVs, and Nature. Its attack with Light Ball hits a max of 458. For comparison, the Pokemon with the highest attack stat in Scarlet and Violet, Palafin, with max attack IVs, EVs, and an attack boosting nature is 460 with no attack boosting item. Pikachu w/ Light Ball hits like a goddamn TRUCK.
for EXTRA comparison: this means that Pikachu is on par with a Pokemon with 90 base attack holding a Choice Band. And Pikachu isn't limited to one move.

Pikachu's representation is actually completely inaccurate imo. In the pokemon anime, you love Pikachu. In Smash Bros, you want to strangle him.

Except for a pokemon like mewtwo theres only one. So it should weigh roughly the same all the time
It's better to think of weight in Smash as more like stamina/hp in traditional fgs. Like how Akuma always has low stamina to balance out his rushdown.
@Frappompi doesnt really matter for the pokemon ppl complain about, mewtwo. He should still be a midweight at least by that logic.
