Hi! You have to be 100% unbiased in explaining what the standard of care is as it relates to the case at hand. If the NP, met the standard of care, then you can serve as an expert witness. If the NP failed to meet the standard of care, then you are done with the case, as your view of the standard of care is not what the NP did. Does that make sense?
the background music is so loud i can barely hear you. it's not necessary, i'm ensconced in what ur saying already and eager to hear more. the background music is a HA
No. None of what this guy is saying is true. In order to review the case as an expert witness, you have to be retained prior to reviewing the case. Then, whatever your impartial opinion is has to be submitted and disclosed to the other side. Even if you disagree with the opinion of the lawyer who retained you. They can't just pick and choose whatever expert witness confirms their case. HAHAHAHAA!
It really depends on multiple factors- how complex the case is, how much research is required etc. Some cases 2-3 hours, some cases upwards of 20 hours. It all depends on the nature of said case.
Hi! Thank you for watching. I know. This was one of my first videos, and it’s been a learning curve. I think some of my newer videos are a little better quality, and I hope you’ll consider giving them a chance! Sorry.
I originally completed a FNP/ACNP program (combined), and then I chose to sit for the AANP ENP exam, since I had ER experience. I knew I wanted to work in the ER, and that was the end goal. I did not complete a formal ENP program (although it would have been very helpful as a new grad). However you get ER experience, (ENP program or just ER experience), you will be greatly benefited.
Great video! Your video came up in my feed (I'm currently in NP school so I tend to peruse NP channels often). A question that came to mind....when researching, let's say for the defense, and you find that the practitioner did not practice in a safe manner or the like, and you find evidence to the contrary, is the defense responsible for providing that to the opposing side (I think it's called discovery in legal speak)? I was just curious. Thanks :)
Hi! So that’s actually a really good question. From my experience, if the defense expert doesn’t agree with the care provided in the case, the expert is just released from the case, as in no longer consulting. And I do not believe they are obligated to report anything like that in discovery. HOWEVER, I am not 100% certain. The reason I say that is because of this: the expert is not a part of the actual claim/suit, they are just contracted to assist in “helping the judge and the jury understand the medical lingo/standard of care”. I hope that helps!
@@DavidWarrenNP yes, that definitely answers my question. Thanks so much for your response. Definitely something to consider in the future. Just gotta get published first to get my name out there 😉
the lighting in all your videos is like season 8 of GOT
#winning
😂🤣
i know I'm quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Marley Alexzander try flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Leon Kingsley Definitely, been watching on FlixZone for months myself :)

Thanks for watching!
Thx for the information, I have left my hospital position and am working remotely, but always looking for other opportunities. Will keep this in mind👍
Thanks for watching!
Starting my FNP program soon. Costing me roughly 36k for 3 year program. This makes me motivated.
Hi! Congrats on starting!! It’s totally worth it!
Can I ask what program are you doing and are you an RN?
So you have to agree with the NP and what they chose to do in order to not be dropped as an expert witness?

Do they retain you or keep you for future other cases or are they done with you for good if you disagree with the NP?
@@DavidWarrenNP AHAHAAAHAA! THAT IS THE DUMBEST, MOST MISGUIDED EXPLANATION OF AN EXPERT WITNESS I HAVE EVER HEARD. ahahahahaha!
How do you find a job as a expert medical witness? I'm searching online and unable to come across any!
Yea, how did you come across that position?
He says it at the beginning of the video.
Dam u really blowing up the music over your voice in this one
Hah I know, I'm sorry. This was back in the day before I figured out how to use premiere pro.
Nice video. Good lightning, audio, and the content is quality.
Thanks!
That's thanks to the 300$/hour. Jk aha !
Is there a travel nurse practitioner for nephrology ?
Like for dialysis patients
Possibly so.... I’m honestly not sure. Most specialties have locums positions open though.

Your fee schedule link doesn’t exist.
How many clinical experience did you have when started expert witness
I had a about 3.5 years as a NP.
Do they just go ask someone else if you think they didn’t meet the standard of care? lol this is fascinating / great content. 👍

Your videos are great but the background music on this one is annoying simply because it’s too loud
Sorry about that. This was the second video I ever posted. I no longer use music in my videos.
hard to listen to u over the music
The background music is a little loud over powering your voice. Great video overall though

And wow, you have obtained a in FNP, AGACNP, and an ENP specialty? How did go about doing that? Did you do three separate graduate programs?

@@DavidWarrenNP WHERE CAN I FIND A PROGRAM THAT IS DUAL FNP AND ACNP? WHAT WAS THE LENGTH OF A FNP/ACNP COMBINED PROGRAM?
